thanks, the guy at the tire shop said the same thing last time he saw it, checked with torque wrench they are tight.. must be old stains :) time to get a tin of paint out...
Nice video, you will have this sorted in no time. How is the shaft on the hydraulic pump? That is normally why they leak oil, shaft wears where the seal is rubbing on it.
oha hahahha they are the bleed resistors and SCRs for the cap bank LOL. nah the PTO wasnt making any noises or anything, just noticed it was loose when i was going to replace the pump!
Oooow that fluid did look pukie didnt it, yuck yuck :-( I know you can fix it alex, and after a gearbox washout/refill i bet it will work smashing again :-) Shame the teeth are knocked about, not yours, the cog ha ha :-) Yep the record button is a remote for aircraft engines :-) Smashing vid :-)
That oil did not look good Alex!:( it looks a arse of a job mate, did it make a racket when failing?? Or was it starting to whine!!? Hope ya get it sorted bud! ;) Like the way we see igbt bricks and resistors in the background on ya bench lol nice mix in the video, electronics and mechanical engineering all in one video. hahaha Thumbs up*
Can a PTO that is ran with a cable get burned up/brake from normal operation in a dump truck? My employer trying to tell me that the only way a PTO tears up is by not turning switch off before driving down the road!? I was cleaning my bed out with the the dump bed raised up and it started smoking due to hydraulic fluid leaking out,As soon as i seen it smoking i jumped in the truck, lowered bed back down and turned PTO off. Then got out and seen all the hydraulic fluid leaking out underneath truck. My dick head boss pretty much called me a liar by saying PTO's only go out by drivng down the road with PTO switch still on. That is not what happened! I am fairly new to driving big trucks so I am not sure if this is true or not. I would assume anything can brake under normal use!? Thanks for your reply!
Mark White leaving it engaged will cause it to wear faster than normal use. they arent rated for continous duty. otherwise they will eventually wear out bearings and eventually the gears themselves from normal use but this can be minimised by having the backlash set correctly

Can you flip that chewed up gear around so it meshes a bit better?
Alex check out the lug nuts on the front wheel some times when you see rust around them it means they are lose

I thought that's what you said at the beginning of the video. Where you get your pumps, i find hwc pretty good.
this type of stuff gets real dear, hopefully it's repairable!!
My Mitsubishi crane Pto is stolen 35 tone machine part no.m12-3 so please tell me how much teeth my pto will contain or dimensions of the pto
powauto PTO unit.. powauto Pump
david brown hydraulics.. expensive, but its what is required for big crane.. 300psi/80LPM
HOW DO I BLEED THE AIR OUT
that gear is a bit sad, pitty it can't be reversed to the non worn side(unless i didn't look at it properly)
That oil looked rather sickly!
awesome!

Mark White in your case was the hydraulic control left in the raise/dump position foran extended period of time causing the pump itself to overheat?
