Carving Stand | Wood Carving Project (Tool Build)

I've been spending a lot of time wood carving lately and so decided to make a carving stand so I can save my back a bit when carving and see around a carving more easily.
In this video you'll see how I made the stand including a movable shelf to hold the carving in place at various heights. You could use this in conjunction with a wood carvers screw or perhaps some other kind of wood carving clamp.
There are many other ways to make a carving stand and I'm sure there must be other videos out there. This was made with a scaffold board, some scrap plywood and scrap oak.
I should also point out that the reason the stand is facing sideways to the bench is because I get more natural light that way and it's also better for my viewers on Twitch and for video making.

Wow, those are proper size dowels! This is such a great example of a Timber Anew video - full of woody goodness. The bit where the screw tightens the upright onto the bench leg is so satisfying! Great job Clint and another brilliant vid. Thank you.

Love this type of video. I was laughing at 10:25 when you said "If you have a drill though..." while there is literally a drill in frame LOL. I love hand tools though, so I totally get it!
