I use popsicle sticks and a router with a 1/16th bit and a tight mortising guide instead of domino's for keeping table tops aligned. The sticks are waste anyways when I eat a popsicle.
I always enjoy your videos. You give very good instructions and include the problems that you run into along with the fixes.
Really digging this workbench, Paul!
ALWAYS enjoy your video Paul.. keep up the great vids!!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks Duy!
Nicely done Paul! 👍👊
Cool that would be ideal for me my doctor has now prescribed it .
Cheers

Thumbs up for the intro 😂 but not only. nice project!
Cheesy Home Of Paul's Smirk... what an intro!
Good onya mate, very nice construction mate 👍👍👍
It's a cool bench Paul. I would make one except I don't have enough shed space to store it.
Nice
My breyer arrived today!
Great video again i see on your bandsaw you dont use a blade stabiliser whats size blade did you use thanks for ya videos
Its a 1/4", 6tpi blade. The only stabiliser I know of is the Carter one, which is really 1/4" and below
I mostly carve bowls, which involves a lot of walking around the workpiece or spinning the workpiece 180 degrees. Do you have any ideas about how to make a clamping top that rotates?
Went to Bunnings to get the Shims. Was walking around the Building supplies as you suggested. I could not find them. I saw this young Bunnings guy and asked where to find shims??? What are Shims??? They are like small Wedges to pack uneven spaces between walls and wooden frame work.. Never heard of that before. but try Isle 35...
They were not there either. So a bit of wondering around and I found them. The point... Some Bunnings Staff just have not got a clue
You sound surprised :D I'm usually happy when they don't get in the way, asking for any more is a bit much! ;)
I love the intro! How do you like your Bosch miter saw? I'm starting to think about an upgrade and that one is on the top of my list - mostly because of it being more compact.
Thanks. The US glide saw is slightly different from the ROW glide saw, so I'm not 100% sure how all the good/bad aspects translate but...
* dust collection is terrible, I don't have a better collecting saw to directly compare it against, but I need to make a custom shroud
* adjusting the laser is incredibly frustrating and honestly not worth the time so I just don't turn it on (laser wasn't accurate out of the box)
* capacity is wonderful - the other day I had 100mm/4" legs to cut down and that wasnt' slightly an issue - it has the capacity and the power to get through it. I've cut very hard woods (jarrah, redgum) and it goes slightly slower on them, but no struggle.
* stock blade is 'OK' at best, so factor in upgrading that to get the most out of the saw.
* The "lack of size" is great - it really is compact for a 12" saw. However, its really heavy, so it'd be a terrible jobsite saw (unless attached to a wheely stand)
Overall, I'm really glad I have it, and honestly if the dust collection was better I'd probably ignore all the other small niggles. The only "better" saw on the market is the Kapex, which is twice the price ($1975AUD!). Metabo have a pretty sweet saw with an induction motor, but takes up lots of space.
Man that is a fantastic review, thank you! That saw has pretty much been on the top of my list for when I decide it's time to upgrade my radial arm saw. Then Delta came out with it's new Cruzer which looks pretty similar. Not sure when I'll get around to making the commitment, but I'll put all your insight into my decision for sure! Thanks again.
Delta aren't sold in Australia, so I can't directly compare it. From what I've seen/read, the dust collection on that isn't much chop either, but is otherwise comparable to Bosch. Some videos of the Cruzer make it look a bit flimsy, but some reviewers look like they try and get into a box match with machines so it might be worth playing with both in a store ;)
Yours is much more solid than mine :)
You've got that sexy swivel action going on though! And you've actually had a chance to use yours other than for making silly intros ;)
I just got the same miter saw that you have and found a zero clearance insert from Infinity tools. Since I see you have had yours for a while, have you found a need for the zero clearance insert? or have you not run into any issues so far? Cool project, I may need to make something similar. :)
I made a zero clearance insert for my saw, out of some phenolic coated plywood scraps. Jon Peters has a video on his channel on how to make it for the Bosch saws :)
So disapointed, I thought you had modified your facial hair :^)
I did consider a hulihee, but it was a bit much work to pull off ;)
Great ideas and excellent work; but please don’t spend so much time showing me how you cut boards, drill holes, spread glue and drive screws. I can already do all that. I want to see what you built and how it functions. What cool features does it have?
