+SGM Records | Rap Instrumentals You're right, I wasn't in the studio for a month because I was too busy and had no desire to jump back in until this weekend, I'm finally finding my passion in it again. Although my skills suffered from not being in it
everyone in the comment section has songs named: "njieigne" "mmmmm" "yeahhh" "song1" and its just a loop and some strange other sounds hahaha youuuu are not aloneeee.
Nope, mine are just Project01, Project02, ..., Project70, Project70b (version 'b', trying something different, though I might start using FLS' save new version feature instead), .... lol ;)
Thanks a lot for this! I always end up with loop syndrome. I have soooo many unfinished beats from like a few years ago and I'm trying to get back into the groove of things. Thanks again, you now have a new subscriber!
i love you my brother. i actually go to school for audio production and audio engineer, but what you do on RUclips has helped me a lot and i thank you for that.
I really appreciate you taking your time to put out videos like this! Im glad a found a good source with comprehendible information for folks like me who doesn't have access to knowledgeable people willing to give of their knowledge. Thanks Again!!
Keep it up man... Your videos are the only videos I can actually watch, and learn from. You actually have a listenable voice with the bass, and good pop filter/deesser. I love it man.... I was helped HUGE by the 10 secret video yesterday, and im bout to watch as much as I can. This was a good video but, its gonna take some time for me to get some practice with all the mods/automation clips... The hotkeys are a HUGE HUGE HUGE help, and you have opened my eyes to tons of knobs/hotkeys just in 1-2 views.... I really appreciate it man.. Ive always been more of a beat kinda guy, never really cared for lyrics, and ive messed with FL studio a decent amount over the last 10 years.... but I never really got confident enough to really really dig in until lately.Every tutorial ive seen was just so horrible it made me worse.... Idiots speeding through shit, not even mentioning hotkeys, and using the long route to do shit instead of shortcuts/different ways even I knew.... I dunno... but your vids are fucking amazing man... Im bout to watch some more vids meow
Been making music on and off for 5 years and this video, along with the how to stand out as a producer and why producers fall off video confirmed alot of things i had been feeling for a while about music production. This is my very long way of saying thank you very very much. Can't believe it took me this long to find your video...........Please keep it up
I'll dump a few melody tricks: In addition to lengthening the melody you can shorten it, change the rhythm, change the contour (the shape of it on the piano roll like an arc or a valley or ascending/descending) or you can take a piece of it and go small, small, long or any combination of that pattern within a pattern. Thanks dude you gave me ideas on how to apply what I'm studying to electronic production. (y)
I'm sure every one has this problem when I make a beat even if it's good I get sick of it and start to dislike it even tho every one else says it's fire. Do u hav any tips on how to deal with the problem of criticising your own work to much
+$$ALEC This is common. It's easy to get bored or disenchanted with your own work. Best thing I've found is: Save it, close it and don't reopen it for a month or two. When you come back with fresh ears, you can appreciate it again...It's probably good, you just get tired of listening to it after being in "surgeon mode" while you were initially making it...ear fatigue is a very real thing and creative people are easily bored with repetitive processes/experiences...
+$$ALEC You're your own worst critic. Just try to remember the amazing feeling you had at one point and cling to that. Just record whatever comes to mind, and build off of that. That *always* helps me.
+$$ALEC Work FAST. Seriously, keep a somewhat hasty pace in your production. It's good to have the outline and arrangement done quickly if you struggle with getting sick of listening the same thing over and over again. It could be a sign you're working too slowly in the whole spectrum of track production. You will get used to it, and you will have time to refine parts of your track later.
+$$ALEC You have to realise that you not liking your work is pushing you to be better. keep working and pushing through it! learn discipline and how to know what sounds good to you and not and just keep working through it
Been using FL studio to make beats for about 2 years. Just recently got into doing trap beats, and your vids have really helped me with 808s, mixing and saturation. Easy to understand and a vast knowledge. Thank you man!
I was stuck in this syndrome in Flstudio many years ago and spent nights after nights sitting on single loops trying to dig in deeper but then i bought StudioOne, The work flow in studioone is great it pushes you to do more than sit on a single loop and actually produce full songs, Not saying Flstudio is bad or any other music program, but in my personal experience Studioone's features helps me create ideas more quicker and move on to the next part....
The way I do it is just: Make melody. Make chord progression out of Melody. Make second melody out of chord progression. Make second chord progression out of second melody. Make melody out of second chord progression. And then I just arrange everything. Maybe throw in some counter melodies here and there.
My favorite thing to do is lay an electric guitar or a saxophone or a piano on top of the beat. Just hit random keys or chords throughout the whole song (except for the chorus). Really helps.
Thank you so much. I just started making beats 3 months ago and I'm only 16. I started making beats because I want to rap, but don't know any music producers so therefore I thought making beats was a good idea to help me make songs. It's been frustrating but you've helped me a lot. I'm still frustrated & I wanna ask you, how do you not want to give up in the beginners stage. I've been dealing with this conflict a lot lately and would appreciate your insight! Thanks for making these videos & helping me learn how to get better at producing.
Christian DeBrosse Its just a sideeffect of learning. Its work. Motivation comes with the first Achievements and by mastering the programm, you will realize the fun is coming with it. I know its frustrating when a beat doesnt turn out as you wish to, but thats just how it is in the beginning. Try to find someone else whos producing and do it together, it will help but its still work after all ;)
I came here looking for techniques regarding song arrangement and drops but I have to say I got a lot out of this. I find it interesting how you first created a melody and then made the chord progression. I usually do it the other way around. I'll also try the keychange thingie. thanks bwb!
Go to tools. in the drop down list there will be the option for last tweaked, then the sub menu from there will give you the option to create an automation clip from the last parameter that you tweaked pertaining to the problem you had at 6:06
Ok thats a great video where you show how to make songs better and qhat to change, but it's still a 16 beats loop. What I was wondering was how to get further?
What if you are interested in "composing on stage", would you still automate so many parameters or leave it to performing? I'm sure there are even more things you can do on the spot
I probably got about 2000 beats in project files where I got annoyed because of that "Syndrome" lol
Swear!
WeTheBenchTruth Not joking bro lol but most don't work because of some free plugins I worked 3 years ago
WeTheBenchTruth know that feeling bro :D
It's about never leaving the studio, everything gets boring (that's my problem I guess)
+SGM Records | Rap Instrumentals You're right, I wasn't in the studio for a month because I was too busy and had no desire to jump back in until this weekend, I'm finally finding my passion in it again. Although my skills suffered from not being in it

"How to Escape the Beat Loop Syndrome and Make Full Songs"
Makes a loop.
l0wbtry makes no sense smh
Libra Lover it’s all about finding variations within a track building around said loop
Try loading in a reference track in a similar genre, then mapping out the structure for your won track. Works a treat!
