Removing the MS reporting is a big win imo. Plus when you chk weather and other news Bing pops up and never willingly use that! So thanks Mike and Kath will try this out later today.👍
recently went and took out all the telem, reporting, ai / copilot etc from my install. i used the CTT stuff, and another github program too. but this looks super nice and simple by comparison. for me, i have limited data per month and i've noticed that my daily data use (technically 5gb/day is absolute max to use all my allocation each month) went from roughly 5-10gb to more like 0.5-2gb for my regular use case. it's actually disgusting how much stuff has been getting sent in and out for my install.. i might actually be able to use my normal home internet all month now, and not for like 3 weeks at best.
"Windows protected your PC" is the window that came up preventing XD Antispy from executing, which in turn brought about the second issue of having to turn off 'Windows Defender', this also did not happen. Win 11 protects the computer from the owner using it. 11 is such an insult to a modern PC build.
Cheers Mike! I'm not on Windows 11 yet, because I am seriously considering jumping to Linux next year when Win 10 support ends. But this might get me to do a dual boot. I'm hoping that we can use this program in tandem with programs like Start11 or StartAllBack?
how many people do you know that have fully moved to Linux out of interest, and specifically would be interested in the number that had never used it before.
VERY important video here, much needed for the people who didn’t know about it (I already used a program similar to this from Chris Titus Tech) and it’s a must-have for any computer that wants to use Windows (Linux is an option but not very user-friendly so most people want to stick with Windows) good job on the video!
it should do, worth trying it, the website says xd-AntiSpy has been updated to provide full support for Windows 11 and partial support for Windows 10. It's important to note that not all tweaks are suitable for Windows 10
This is why everyone is moving to Linux because everyone is sick and tired of Microbloat aggressive behavior and forcing everyone to use their useless against user’s will. This will be the end of Microbloat era and beginning of Linux computer era. Linux golden age is coming.
That may be one reason. Out here where I now live in SE Asia people are moving to Linux because they cannot afford the new hardware for new Windows versions. Back in the day you expected to pay out on a new PC/laptop every 3-5 years to run the latest Windows release version. You did not have much choice as the only OS you could realistically run viable software on was Windows. Well lots of things have changed and the world economy is in a right state (and I hold the worst is yet to hit) and people reallt cannot afford new laptops. They stagger on with Windows 7 - fer real - until I show them Linux (KDE.) They usually cannot jump onto Linux fast enough especially now most users are 'google' users and have little need for offline apps at all. Once I should them google apps. Libreoffice reading then office 97 file (yes, office 97) they are sold! I grant many will accept Windows when they do eventually buy a new laptop. People will run with what ever "does Google" but they are open to Linux extending the life of their machines. People are no so willing to rush out and buy new to just run Windows now.
@@incandescentwithrage I don't think Linux is every going to replace Windows however, in terms of the year of the Linux Desktop, there are signs things are moving and Linux is becoming more akin to MacOS, and alternative but not a replacement of Windows. I am seeing a lot less resistant to Linux now especially among the smartphone generation. The fact Linux will now run so much software and so many games is moving things and Windows is pilling on the abuse these days.
people have been saying that for 20 years now and it won't happen, to much of the World's ecosystem runs and relies on Windows, for better or worse it is here for the long haul. And i totally recognise the progress that distros like ubuntu have been making to create a more WIndows experience, but the massive diversity of Linux and its huge array of different distros are also it's mainstream failure.
@@jedipadawan7023 I disagree. Android has taken off because of it's (mostly) identical UI across all manufacturers. Some manufacturers have put their own launcher on top, but in the vast majority of cases, if you're having trouble doing something on your phone, you can Google it and the settings will be where the guide says they are. Due to the fractured nature of Linux distros with GUI, the same is not true. By necessity, searching for a resolution to a problem will almost always return terminal based results. There are after all far fewer bases for distros than actual distros (almost all being Debian / Ubuntu now). The other reason is inertia. If they use a computer at work, it will be Windows or MacOS with very few exceptions. Average computer users are not going to learn a new OS just for home use, follow guides that use terminal commands and certainly not reinstall an OS. They will instead complain about things to MS (like recall) until they make it opt in instead of opt out, which they have.
some of the techniques in the program mimic how a virus works so you might get a false positive. If you are downloading from anywhere other than the github repo that might be why

what will stop Microsoft from overriding this and reinstall all their original programs all over again. I had done a similar removal and had updates turned Off .
