The smile that comes over your face when you first hear Barry Gibbs’ voice.... that’s the reason to get out of your comfort zone and listen to new music ( the classics). You get it! Don’t ever apologize for that.
Bee Gees don't get enough recognition for their supreme musical talent. Their harmonies are unique, but their musical arrangements are brilliant. Decades of music, wonderful songs. Thanks for playing this.
Man it does my heart good to see a young black guy loving on one of my favorite groups I've enjoyed for 40 years I'm a 64 year old black man ,may I recommend a few songs by the Bee Gees the Brothers Gibb , Love you inside and out, Fanny be tender , Nights on Broadway, You should be dancing ,How can you mend a broken heart, Jive Talking ,Love so right and there's more the reason I brought up the color thing you don't see young black guys listening to the Bee Gees you have a really good ear for good music
They have been performing together since childhood. They wrote almost all of the songs they recorded. I love Run to Me also. They basically started the disco craze accidentally. They just wanted to try a different direction in their music writing and everyone jumped on board. Their earlier music is really good, too.
It will never be another group like Bee Gees. They made magic with there music and Sir Barry still does. All 4 brothers had/ have extremely beautiful voices and wrote wonderful music. Sir Barry still write wonderful music. Love them till my last breath ❤️❤️❤️
You are 100% right, the BeeGees are magic. Barry is elevated, no question. He loved his brothers. They all made it work, they all could sing and write. But I think Barry is the off-the-charts genius.
Don't let the "haters" influence your enjoyment. Much of that attitude comes from the "anti-disco" blowback reaction. The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack dominated the airwaves. The BeeGees had multiple songs from it on the charts. Long story but they caught the blowback from the period. I am glad those songs can just be enjoyed and appreciated again without that prejudice. They had number one songs in the Sixties, as well, and since too, I believe. The BeeGees have charted for (five?) decades. And written hit songs for other artists.
The Disco era had lots of great music.I find enjoyment in lots of different kinds. They need to broaden their musical enjoyment don't they.If they don't give it a chance, the haters will miss alot
I saw an interview with Barry Gibbs & it was heartbreaking hearing him talk about how much he missed his brothers and how he wishes he could take back little disagreements they had from time to time. I cried with him.
Who in the HOLY HELL said they didn't like the Bee Gees??? OMG, they are EVERYTHING! I'm so glad you love them! Watch the Bee Gees documentary on HBO Max, and you'll love them even more. Their talent is off the charts amazing.
Can you imagine being a member of the orchestra during the recording. Going to work that day, knowing it's the Bee Gees but the song to be recorded is brand new to everyone. Finishing the session, driving home and realizing that you contributed to something totally wonderful and timeless.
As a lifelong Bee Gees fan in my early fifties I'm glad to see people like yourself from a younger generation appreciate the genius of the Bee Gees! You're right some people just don't get it and that happened even in the 70's. Hard rock fans were always bashing the Bee Gees because their record sales outsold the popular rock bands. Here are a few fun facts about the Bee Gees: 1) Originally From England their family moved to Australia where their father had better job prospects. 2) The brothers sang together all of their lives and the group never broke up unlike most bands. 3) They wrote their own music and every song they sang they wrote. They also wrote songs for other artists that became hit songs . 4) They wrote a few country songs for other artists like Kenny Rogers. 5) They're one of the least imitated groups as few people can achieve the range and harmony level that they effortlessly did! 6) They had hit songs in the 1960's like "I started a joke," "Going Back to Massachusetts" and "Mend a Broken Heart" before most Americans knew who they were. 7) They incorporate their noses in their singing especially in the higher ranges. 8) They loved their fans and their fans still love them!
Robin did leave the group at one time. He knew he was not being treated fairly. He deserved so many more leads and solos. Couldn’t get it. Went on his own. Made his own albums. Had #1 hits.
The Trolls hate the Bee Gees. They are magic and gifted artist. Some hate them because of Disco and that is an entirely different topic. They were/are masters of their profession! Haters will be haters, don't care.
The Bee Gees were huge in my childhood and teen years. I'm thrilled that you and other young people have discovered their unique and massive talent. Thank you for giving them a chance.
You watch them and think how special it is to have this opportunity to sing and be with your siblings for most of your working life. Not many get the chance to do this, and they loved it because they kept at it until they died. Rest brothers Gibb, and love to Barry.
I love those sounds Barry's improvising in between the twins' harmonies. He's not even singing any lyrics, just playing his voice like an instrument while being in his own musical world, gazing into somewhere only he can see. It's like he's got too much voice in him and can't hold it inside.
I grew up on this song but surprisingly never saw a performance until this video. There are amazing nuances by Barry in the song that because they are so subtle I actually never really noticed until seeing this video.
The Bee Gees were the best group of song writers & singers there ever were - PERIOD! I'm so happy to see the younger generation finding out about them and listening to them.
Saturday Night Fever came out while I was in the Army and we went clubbing every weekend and danced to this and other disco songs...love the BeeGees...on all of my playlists
They had a younger brother, Andy Gibb, who was a very talented pop star. He tragically died from a heart condition caused by years of cocaine abuse, after he appeared to have beaten his addiction. He was 30 years old.
Bee Gees were my favorite group growing up. They are fantastic! Their harmonies are out of this world. I'm really glad that reactors like yourself can hear the beauty in their singing.

When Barry sings with his soft falsetto vocals, it reminds me of The Stylistics, a group you should definitely check out. Another great Bee Gees song similar to this one, is called "Emotion", also worth checking out.
The Bee Gees have always been popular, but there were those back in the "disco" days that hated anything disco and that included the Bee Gees. They really do sing so lovely and they did songs before and after the disco era. The twins, the ones on the outer right and left, Robin and Maurice have since both died and the only one still alive is Barry, the brother in the middle. Please react to "Spirits Having Flown", "Alone", and "One" and "Man in the Middle" with Maurice Gibb singing. :-)
"Spirits Having Flown" is also one of my favorites. "Man in the Middle" is also great. Another one I love by Maurice is "Lay it on Me" live in Melbourne 1974, and my favorite by Robin I think is "I Can't See Nobody" live in Melbourne 1974.
"Nights on Broadway," "Love You Inside Out," "Words," "To Love Somebody," "I Started A Joke," "Fanny," "Run To Me," "Massachusetts," "Love So Right," "Jive Talkin'," "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart,..."
AND: New York Mining Disaster - which some Americans don't realize is not about New York, USA -- but instead inspired by a Welsh mine cave-in 1966 - Also: "I started a Joke" - featuring Robin's beautiful, soft voice...
If this song doesn’t move you you don’t have a pulse.

"Spirits Having Flown" is also one of my favorites. "Man in the Middle" is also great. Another one I love by Maurice is "Lay it on Me" live in Melbourne 1974, and my favorite by Robin I think is "I Can't See Nobody" live in Melbourne 1974.
And then of course there is also Andy Gibb. I love "Love is Thicker Than Water".
Love Spirits Having Flown...have the album!
I had Bee Gees written on my school port (bag) back in 1968 lol
I am an absolute metalhead yet, I love the Bee Gees... There is nothing like those melodies and those harmonies! They were vocal masters!
Poor boys...who said when they were very young...We will be famous..what talent..all 4
"Nights on Broadway," "Love You Inside Out," "Words," "To Love

Nights On Broadway is my favorite
Jeanette Degiulio My favorite!
Real music touches your soul on a cellular level.
Thank you for keeping our music alive
I like their older stuff like “Massachusetts” & “ How can you mend a broken heart”
AND: New York Mining Disaster - which some Americans don't realize is not about New York, USA -- but instead inspired by a Welsh mine cave-in 1966 - Also: "I started a Joke" - featuring Robin's beautiful, soft voice...
I am so glad you are exploring all kinds of music! You will not be disappointed. Stay the course.
