These two cameras are very closely matched in term of specs. The main differences are that the Sony ZV 10 can shoot 4k 60 fps which is good for slow motion sequences. Not necessary for most RUclips Type videos but nice to have for certain scenes. The Canon shoots 4k but only up to 30fps. The other thing to note is the size of the cameras, both are compact but the Sony is slightly smaller for carrying around on location. They both come with a standard 16-50mm lens and you can buy additional lenses. Both have a 3.5 input for microphone but the Sony has a headphone jack also if you want to monitor the audio. Most people don't need to worry about that but nice to have. So all up very similar cameras with the Sony offering a couple of extra features that make it quite appealing. I chose the Canon as I already have a few Canon Cameras and could use the lenses and I really like the colour science in the Canon EOS range. Hope this helps.
The main advantage of this type of camera over a smartphone is that sensor size. The larger sensor can provide clearer sharper images in low light situations. This is very noticeable when you bring up the footage on screen when editing. However when viewing the images on a phone you can't often notice the difference. This is only for low light. Daylight images look just as good on iPhone and Samsung. The only other advantage of a DSLR camera is the interchangeable lenses. You can get specific lenses wider, mid and long and adjust the settings easily with specific dials that are easy to access. Once again the iPhone and Samsung have all this in an all in one lens that is quite similar. It is getting harder to justify as smartphones get better with each release. I still prefer using DSLRs not only for the slightly better image quality but for the ergonomics, like using the flips screen on low angles, accessing settings via dials etc.
Not much difference between the two. The R10 is slightly bigger and has deeper grip, thus more comfortable to hold. For Action Still Photography The R50 shoots up to 15 fps, but the buffer maxes out at something like under .30 So you can only burst for half a second, whereas R10 shoots 23 fps and can burst for about 2 seconds.....
Yes it is quite good for photography for the price. A better choice is any of the EOSR with full frame sensor. However they will cost twice as much. Also important is the selection of a good range of lenses.
Canon r50 or sony zv e10? Which one is better for RUclips/podcast videography? And overall performance.... Please reply..
