Your reaction is priceless young g! U re quite articulate in ur reaction! Nice one . This track is hard and this is when Nas was a teenager like 17 or 20
Oh man this is a hip hop classic! Great reaction you really enjoy this as much as old hip hop heads. You gotta do more Nas! some favorites: street dreams, street dreams remix (trust me you need both), one mic, the message , rich and black (with raekwon) verbal intercourse , purple , nas is like , ether (jay z beef), affirmitive action, full circle ...man I can keep going forever but check those out I promise you will like them. PROMISE.
React to; "The Message" - Nas "Made You Look" - Nas "Notorious Thugs" - Notorious B.I.G (Feat. Bone Thugs N Harmony) "Weedman" - Bizzy Bone "Takeover"(Mobb Deep & Nas Diss) - Jay-Z "Ether" (Jay-Z Diss) - Nas "Best Behavior"(Jay-Z & Sauce Money Diss) - Big Pun (Feat. Fat Joe)
Yeah now realize he dropped out of school at the beginning of 9th grade and recorded this song between the ages of 18 19. He was like a combo between Kool G Rap Slick Rick & Rakim on steroids
Have you listened to the list tapes from Nas yet? Those songs were sopose to be on his third album but got leaked on the internet 2 weeks before his album was released. Those are some of his best songs. I recommend “No ideas original” And “Gotta Love it”
haha nice reaction bro, looks like you really enjoy hiphop as we all do watching these videos its like reliving the first time hearing it and hearing a different angle, great enthusiasm you got which is great
To be honest, I never thought they were the same sample. If they are, Nas’ is first. Primo makes great boom bap beats. Scarface is a classic. Nas wrote the lyrics for the whole Illmatic album between ages 17-20. NYC was wild 80s-mid 90s
1) I’m happy you finally reacted to it. Imo I think it’s not only Nas best track but I think it’s the best rap song of all time 2) It’s all about the Benjamins doesn’t sample NY State of mind. You might be thinking of the Nas song Beef from KD3, that samples NY state of mind in the hook 3) Yes you should watch Scarface, it’s a super classic movie. It’s almost every rappers favourite movie. It’s been sampled and referenced so many times it’s crazy, especially in the late 80’s to early 00’s. But it’s not Al Pacino best movie, watch Godfather & Godfather 2 if you haven’t, imo the 2 greatest movies of all time 4) He samples Rakim in the hook, you should definitely check him out. The most influential rapper of all time, he changed the way people rapped. 5) I would recommend you to do a full Illmatic album reaction. If you don’t have the time then react to singular songs, The world is yours would be my recommendation
Glad you discovered the goat 🐐
Nas is amazing, love his music!
