Definitely an argument for wired setups! Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of wired setups, but you can’t deny the flexibility of wireless systems like this… which will suit 99% of people!
Thanks Stephanie! Its definitely an interesting choice - they've done a great job introducing themselves to the smart home community with a really robust system straight off the mark!
Thank you for the comment, and thanks for sticking around for as long as you have! Got some really interesting content coming in the next few weeks - a bunch of gadgets that are just WILD! 🥃
These appear to be very similar to the Wyze Battery Cam Pro. That's also a good camera, but this has the advantage of coming with the hub and being 4K. The Amazon page says that they handle extreme temperatures. If that's true, then this might be a good option for me. Where I am (South Dakota, USA), the seasons can get pretty extreme, so a lot of systems aren't up to the job. If a camera is going to give up because we have a scattering of -30F temps in January, then it's not worth the investment. I got the Wyze specifically because they say they can take such temperatures. The camera kept working, the issue I found was that the battery died rapidly, and I could not get up on a ladder to replace it with snow and ice on the ground. Where I need these, I have no power option to hard wire something. I would like to know how well the exclusion zones actually work. Both of the cameras I've tried say they have zones that prevent alerts, but they do nothing. I get a notice for every car that drives past on my street. This can't be good for the battery either. What did the poor doggy do to deserve the Cone of Shame?
Cant talk about the heat... middle of wales in the UK is a constant misery of weather so not sure how these would fair in extreme heat. The exclusion zones seem to work really well though! Doggy (monty) unfortunately had to have one of his toes removed after an accident! Feeling very sorry for himself at the moment 😢
At the moment, not to my knowledge. Supports alexa currently, and theres mention of matter and thread on their website, but nothing homekit related for the moment. 👀
the weakness in my Eufy's was the usb port which leaked when connected to solar panels, destroying the camera. Design was not up to the weather, port was designed to puddle water around usb connector, so no go. Dear Camera Makers; put the port on the BOTTOM of the camera please, to at the very least!build a camera with a USB Pigtail connectoe so the camera case integrity remains and cable to solar panel can be well sealed with some good quality tape. Any word on waterproofness on these?
Didn’t test with a SSD - just the internal memory. You could try their support email and see what they say… support@safemo.com Come back and let us know 👍
*for now. I believe there’s intent to launch in the uk soon too… although saying that, it works absolutely brilliantly over here regardless of the plug type 😅. But point noted - will make that clearer and earlier in future episodes if it’s available in limited locale! ☠️.
Wi-Fi cameras can be blocked easily with items bought online rendering useless, wired ones are more secure.

@@StusReviewsUK A visual deterrent is better than nothing. Good vid.

Another awesome video, Stu!!! Thinking of buying a security camera myself. It seems a great option. 😁😁

Always interesting Stu. Even if not available in Europe yet, I enjoy the reviews - the correct length for half a cup of tea early morning 👍

Thanks Stu. Looks ok.
It does indeed! Really well designed for a new brand!
Great video Stu, a really interesting product. Do you know if it support HomeKit secure video?

Still will take some doing to get me to relinquish my Reolink
Are you using a wired or wireless system from them? 👀
Have you gotten the SSD to work? How does it need to be formatted? I can't get it to work with mine and there's no info online

@@StusReviewsUK yeah, waiting in a reply. Nothing online or in the manual except how to physically install it.
Please review the mi security camera ❤
The eufy solar panel I have does have similar cable management
Wonder if I’ve got an older version… 🤔
Looks like the Eufy S300
It does a bit! They’ve definitely taken inspiration. The hub though… half the size!
Pretty sure this thing's parents are EVE & WALL-E.
I mean... you arent wrong 😂
You can only get it in the US oh my waste of my time...
