Thanks for keeping us informed about this terrible policy from XPEL. I have XPEL on my car and after driving through a rainstorm that had some industrial pollutant in the rain, I had severe water spots in the XPEL Ultimate PPF. I had to make a warranty claim because the water spots could not be removed. Thousands of people put ceramic coatings on their cars that also have PPF installed. When XPEL starts telling customers they will not honor their warranty it’s going to get ugly.
Just don’t say the film is coated if you have a warranty issue. Problem solved! They can’t prove you don’t just use a quick detailer that adds a bit of hydrophobics ;)
Haha love Xpel, but I also laughed at this when I first read it. My immediate response was "fine, but make Fusion about $100/bottle cheaper."
I think at the end of the day, it's simply not even worth coating film given how short the hydrophobics last
What a bunch of SNAKES: Changing the warranty retroactively?? What good is the warranty you get when you purchase then? Talk about UNETHICAL. And their refusal to cover parts and labor, when it is in their warranty, even when they admit their own product failed is also unethical. XPEL has held up good on my car since 2016, but I'll be looking for another brand when it is time to replace in a year or two.

Moving forward they can force that BS but any PPF installed prior to that bulletin and a judge would wet his Depends laughing at Xpel if someone took it to court, provided the judge has integrity and can't be bought. I think this may end up being another case of a company walking past dimes to pick up nickels, I know I won't use their products or patronize anyone that installs their products in the future. I HATE greed.

Glad I went with Stek, not that Xpel gave me a chance to sell theirs 😂

im an installer in China, xpel have more ridiculous rules here, such as you can't sell ppf from other brands if you want to be a xpel installer, and things like the warranty will be void if customers don't maintain the ppf with xpel products every seasons...

@@xinpingdeng4467 综合来看和博主测评结果差不多 hexis和xpel平分秋色 hexis 的x系列我自己车贴上也有3年了 感觉比xpel的lux（也就是ultimate）耐候性更好一些 也更抗黄 但是xpel的通透性更好 更适合深色车 另一方面hexis装贴难度太高 装贴后两周内需要频繁复检 xpel更容易包边 更易装贴 相对的hexis难贴是因为粘度低 xpel粘度偏高 如果车身是碳纤维材质 车漆附着力低 更建议hexis一些 stek每个系列的特性都不太一样 招牌dyno sheild每批次都略有不同 但总体也比较均衡 hexis xpel stek都是我自己会选择的品牌 龙膜suntek等在质感上略显逊色
@@xinpingdeng4467总之 没有完美的膜 依情况而定 基本上三个主要因素 预算 车漆颜色 车漆附着力 综合来看首选还是xpel 如果是碳车身或者塑料底的车漆 可以考虑选择stek和hexis

Just another move to paint installers into a corner if they want to continue offering XPEL films. Nothing against the brand and film products, but as a shop owner that is adding film to my offerings, I don't think I would even consider using their lineup with those stipulations. They're in essence allowing shareholders to dictate how not only their company is run, but the installers if they want to offer their film.
I don't want to be told what I can and can't offer to my clients. I think I'm not alone in thinking that, but we're the little guys. Not a high volume shop.
@@ScottHD doesn't matter if your big or small. Your ppf supplier has no say in your ceramic or polish or panel prep or toilet paper brand.
Stek makes better film and couldn't care less what ceramic we use.

Haven’t been all that happy with the Xpel Film on my personal vehicle. Doesn’t seem as durable as the previous film I had (wish I knew what brand that was).

Have a car coming soon - have always heard xpel was good. Was thinking ceramic pro film because i”ve used their coatings - What PPF do you recommend???
We have been happy with Premiumshields updated film for the past several years which is now going to be Suntek/Llumar. Hexis has done well in our tests, as has STEK.

@2:33 - It's interesting how they say excessive heat or cold but never define what that actually means lol. Is -10F excessive? What about -40F?
Right?? We have excessive heat in Texas! Surface temperature of hoods exceed 180°F
It was -60 windchill briefly in Chicago. Pretty sure everyone has no warranty here. Anyone heard of s temp lower than recently? Lol
The warranty has been like this since at least may of last year.

Premiumshield for the past few years which is becoming Suntek/Llumar. Purchased by Eastman Chemical company.
Unacceptable. Hopefully, everyone will eXPEL it from their inventory of products they use now 😂
