smashbrolink ME TOO! There is something deeply human woven into the fabric of that melody. It’s like the tune is reciting all the goodness that humans have ever done and will ever do. Pure innocence.
I've seen the film enough times where I can recall it vividly in my head. I didn't buy the ticket and travel 100 miles just to do something that I can do from my own house for free. I paid for the musical experience and it was more than worth it.
Im with ya! Traveled several hundred miles twice and a couple thousand once for these gigs. Thats the kind of Tolkien nut I am….thanks for posting this.🎉
I am a 35 yr old guy, with two young children. This video literally made me cry. How can human beings create such beautiful art, love the idea of life in the Shire, and yet be so far from nature and pollute the planet for future generations as we do?
It's a shame. A lot of people really don't care about the wellbeing of the planet so long as they're getting their money and all. I'd gladly trade the lot of this stuff away for a life in The Shire, and I mean that 100%. It just seems like such an organic and peaceful lifestyle. No big factories polluting their air, they're not eating a bunch of processed crap, everything's home grown and the community really knows how to set aside their differences and come together for some good old fashioned celebration. I know the Hobbiton movie set still exists and can be visited (even the Green Dragon Inn), but none of the houses have interior, of course. That'd about the closest we're getting for now unless someone that owns a lot of land with rolling green hills decides to build a bunch of hobbit holes and open them up for renting and/or purchasing. A guy can dream though!
Just saw the last Hobbit film today and openly cried during the credits, can't believe it's all come to an end... Howard Shore writes such beautiful music.
Ollie Burton the hobbit trilogy is dog shit. the sound track is not memorable what so ever, the only bits of music i remember are extracts taken from the lord of the rings. only good bit in the whole 9 hours of film are the bits with bilbo in and gollum in them.
+Ollie Burton I cried for a different reason. Mostly because Smaug is killed off instantly, then the rest of the entire movie is literally fighting and Thorin going crazy.
The shot of Gandalf turning the corner up that hill Bilbo’s front door will never ever ever fail to give me chills. Just one of the most iconic and impressive shots in movie history.
I'm sorry but how in the Hell Amazon will surpass this masterpiece of a Trilogy, the Locations, Soundtrack, Actors, Script, Direction, Photography, VFX, SoundFX etc. all was aligned, I really don't know how.
i hate that people clapped at certain times -- but other than that, this was the most beautiful awesome experience i've had in sooooooooo long. thank you so much howard shore for writing this incredible score. what a listen
With LOTR, Howard Shore placed himself alongside the all-time greats in classical music history. LOTR is an immense achievement. A magnum opus. Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear that Shire theme begin.
having played in an orchestra before for 4 years i would say kudos to these musicians indeed. intense rehearsals, lots of skill and dedication must have been put into it. what is most impressive is the impeccable timing that is required to match the scenes on the screen. synchronization at its paramount best, the conductor has to be really masterful as well!
The whole soundtrack of LOTR is perfection... I've watched the movies countless of time but its every music still gives me goosebumps!! I hope someday I will be able to hear this live 😭🙏
The score for this trilogy is just unbelievable. Hearing it live really showcases how effective the melodies were to the scenes. I mean how happy do you feel hearing the Shire music?
One of the absolute best scores of a film trilogy ever. Howard Shore hot a John Williams Grand slam with these films. The music just brings me to Middle Earth.
@@Henriquebrasilrocha There is nothing more powerful than images and words coming to life, books are great don't get me wrong but when this is done right its more effective. Ty Peter Jackson.
I saw all 3 of these movies with the live orchestra and it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen live. When the choirs kicked in, it was awesome! Gave me chills!
The emotion of seeing the first images of Frodo and the beauty of the shire are overwhelming if you ask me. I wish I would be there on theaters to watch this movie, seeing for the first time Middle Earth realized.
Very true. I saw a show like this over the summer with The Two Towers. People would cheer for particularly good parts of the movie. The problem is, after a good line, the music typically builds. They were cheering over the best parts of the score.
StivenFilmsEverything I played Concert Band for 9 years and yes I can tell you it is annoying especially when you need to hear other parts of the band. But good these guys are pros so I don't really compare myself to them
I went to see this last night in Cologne (Germany) and fortunately people pulled themselves together and did not clap during the score, but it was hard. Yes, it is tempting, but it is terribly rude. Just like leaving during the end credits. Well, I missed my train and had to wait an hour for the next which came at midnight, but the end credits were worth it and also it is just very bad etiquette to leave while they are still playing! If you get the chance, go and see the show, and remember to bring a big handkerchief ;)!
Wow! Definitely was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of awesome feedback on my footage. It was one of the most amazing experiences I have had and the purpose of this video is my attempt at sharing it with everyone! I think I read somewhere in the comments that people wished I had filmed the screen more at certain parts. To you guys I just have to say I paid for the ticket and travelled 100 miles to see the musicians perform this score and that was my priority so sorry :)
I've gotten so used to the extended editions that I had no idea Bilbo's narration of the Shire wasn't in the original cut. The words "Concercing Hobbits" are never even said aloud despite the theme the orchestra is playing being called that.
Finally I was there!!! On this concert... (in 14. Dec 2022 in Prague). And it was more heart touching and more intesne that I can possibly imagine!!!!!❤❤❤
I would be pretty annoyed if I paid to go see this and the person in front of me was filming the whole thing. But since I wasn't the one sitting behind you here - thanks for uploading!
Does anyone else think it's strange how there were three rings for the elves, seven for the dwarf lords, nine for the race of men and one ring to rule them all while J. R. R. Tolkien died in the year of 1973? Just me?
+Adrina Sutcliff The nine for the race of men, is The nine rings given to Nine kings, and slowly one by one they fell into darkness, they became the ringwraiths
Too all you people saying don't clap during the performance: I was of the same mindset, until I went to one of these. It's not annoying at all and it just makes every united and intimate in their love of the film
Those flute and violin sections during the Shire made me tear up. They're just so incredibly beautiful...T_T
They always bring me the feels..
Irish tin Whistle x
smashbrolink ME TOO! There is something deeply human woven into the fabric of that melody. It’s like the tune is reciting all the goodness that humans have ever done and will ever do. Pure innocence.
They do indeed. I think the fact the flute is faster in the orchestra makes it feel a lot more lively and beautiful. :)
I've seen the film enough times where I can recall it vividly in my head. I didn't buy the ticket and travel 100 miles just to do something that I can do from my own house for free. I paid for the musical experience and it was more than worth it.
Hi!! Are you in life?
Im with ya! Traveled several hundred miles twice and a couple thousand once for these gigs. Thats the kind of Tolkien nut I am….thanks for posting this.🎉
I absolutely confirm ... It was worth it!
You still alive?
Lol! I forgot this was an orchestra and when the camera moved I was like "YO MOVE IT BACK I'M TRYING TO WATCH!" 😂😂😂
Same 😁😂

We've got to have monnneeeeyy.
We have an amazing ability to compartmentalize things in our brain as well as doing one thing while saying another.
Because people who created this, namely JRR Tolkien, are rare.

same here was disappointed they could off done so much better but did like the ending with Gandalf knocking at the door

The greatest movie ever + an Orchestra = heaven!

I'm gonna see LOTR in concert in Belgium in december. I'm gonna cry so bad. The LOTR score always touches my soul... so beautiful!
Hey im living in belgium can you tell me where are you going to see the concert plz?

It’s amazing how music can add sooooo much to a movie. LOTR and The hobbit wouldn’t be what it is without the amazing music 😩

I watched LOTR like a hundrerd times and yet I love them so much
I saw this in London 2 years ago. The Greatest show of my life. Amazing
Wow. I really wish I'd seen/heard this.
I love the ending of this scene. How iconic is that view of Gandalf arriving in front of Bag End.

AMAZING !!!
so much nerdgasm

Oh man, I am so jealous and in love, simultaneously.
#1 rule of classical performance etiquette: don't clap during performance!
The emotion of seeing the first images of Frodo and the beauty of the shire are overwhelming if you ask me. I wish I would be there on theaters to watch this movie, seeing for the first time Middle Earth realized.

Punki80 can you tell me, did they sinchronise the movie into german? hopefully not..
and are they performing extended version? :)

8:51 !!! The Shire !!
I've gotten so used to the extended editions that I had no idea Bilbo's narration of the Shire wasn't in the original cut. The words "Concercing Hobbits" are never even said aloud despite the theme the orchestra is playing being called that.
The kids with fireworks and old lady laughing will never not make me smile from ear to ear.
The amount of skill and talent to pull off something like this.....Jesus Christ "goosebumps"
All these performances, from all over the world, should be made to a film concert movie
Finally I was there!!! On this concert... (in 14. Dec 2022 in Prague). And it was more heart touching and more intesne that I can possibly imagine!!!!!❤❤❤
I live in sadness that I will never be able to witness such a beautiful performance in the flesh.
Why not?
Es, muy lindo ver y oír estas canciones épicas, que hacen que uno se sienta en la película misma
I really appreciate that you zoom in on the choirs and the musicians.. So much respect to these people. Love it!
What a trooper of an army, the conductor. Whow.
Just brought my tickets for this show in Wellington - so excited!!
Thanks for posting this. I was in the show, but it's nice to see how the audience saw it!
I would love to see this. It would be insane. The music gives me goosebumps
8:51 the best part I've been waiting for, never get old, brought me the the time when I was yonug 😭😌
I am just overwhelmed at this moment. This is just pure awesomeness.
I would love to attend one of these...it would be an unforgettable experience...re-live my favorite movie

Well...um...I hope it's a coincidence

It's not annoying at all and it just makes every united and intimate in their love of the film
But it's distracting to the orchestra. I do get what you're saying but I think claps should be left till the end of each piece
If I see this in one moment of my life I will cry like a baby literally. When can I see this please? of the fellowship
Si pudiera estar ahí deifnitivamente no sabría qué mirar!! es una maravilla!
Wish I was there. This is thrilling. Thank you Gordslinger!
