Nothing works in this video. Accept for the loud noise suggestion. My brother and I started shaking a double size food can with rocks and change in it when they started scratching table legs all the time. It reduced it probably 90% or more. I’m going to try the same for counters. Problem is that with counters I have a feeling that our one cat will just continue to do it when we are home. I’m going to try the pokey mat thing, and if that doesn’t work then I will make a sheet of cardboard with blue painters tape strips facing up with ends rolled over to keep them in place. I have had great sucess with Tupperware cups. Keep a stack near you at all times. Takes a couple weeks. When ever the Cat gets up on a counter, table, recliner etc... you say NO sharply! A finger click is a good extra too. At the moment the cat looks at you, toss the plastic cup into their vicinity. Near enough to startle, but, not to hit them. Best action the cup will ricochet off nearby surfaces. When the cat humps down. Its over! Till next he jumps on counter. In time, just a finger click will have the reflex action of NO.
It’s become a real problem with my cat. He literally spends all day doing all the stuff he can’t. I’ve tried a bell, yelling, towels on the sides, crate, tin foil, tape, treats, a few cat trees, hell my cat will even jump on top of the stove. Absolutely nothing works. I’m going crazy. I’ve even tried taping up poster board. He’ll eat that! Literally nothing works. We just have to let him walk on cabinets with nasty litter paws.
I got three cats, all of them walking with no trouble on the "pokey spines". And it looks like there are other people whose cats do the same. This is definitely not working.
This is one of the biggest problem that we’re having with our cat. She’s 6 months old & oh so curious as she should be.
