@@RetroGameCorps Hi, there is a nightly build that is being updated with the last update being on 24th April 2022 but yes there hasn't been a new stable build since December 2022.
PSVshell is one of the greatest things to happen on the Vita. You can get a lot of extra battery life out of the system if you're using emulators in RetroArch. Set all the clocks at their highest, except the gpu clock. Put that one on 83 MHz and you'll get more battery life without any noticeable drawbacks. As for DaedalusX64... Just max out everything and deal with the lower battery life

Really impressed with the performance! I'd consider Ocarina of Time completely playable start to finish. Couple of audio hitches once every now and again but nothing bad. Happy as hell!

Even being a little tight on money I was fixed on the idea of getting an Anbernic. I remembered that i have an almost like new Vita i have not used in years. I'm disappointed that I got rid of my White Vita with the OLED. I knew it would eventually get good emulation support but I didn't want to wait. What an absolute beast of a system though. Killzone: Mercenaries was an amazing game. (seriously, it was *amazing* for a handheld game)
I can if it's native. Unless it requires a shit ton of camera movement. Literally got bad motion sickness after a binge session of Flower due to that once
Thanks for covering N64 on the Vita! You also showed me a better OC utility than the one I am running. I run my 1000 at 500 when I run emulation apps and normal when I am not running anything.
OoT runs stable but with some FPS drops, the audio crackling can be a bit distracting but so far so good. Paper Mario is pretty much unplayble cuz of the textures but other optimized games run really good! Looking forward to new releases
games are getting optimized more and more, so maybe we will see the whole catalogue of games, that would be great. Personnaly i would love to see the bounty on the dead space port (android game version obviously) being taken on, that would be dope to have a dead space game on ps vita
now if drastic shows up on this device, Dreamcast emulation got a bit less wonky, it would have coverage of all my classic console itches it already has a major advantage for the psp emulation.

Fortunately I’m able to transfer without use of PC again by copy/paste within VitaShell, original ROMS section of N64, after creating new ROMS folder in Daedalus. Great tutorial.

I can't wait til they get Dreamcast working well on the PS Vita, I have a physical Dreamcast, but I can't exactly bring a TV, my Dreamcast & games, and a generator to work every day lol. That's why I've been eyeing up a Steam Deck, but being able to use my Vita would save so much money.

It's cool what some people are able to do with the Vita, but I always thought of it as a terrible handheld for this kinda thing, and that mainly goes down to it's proprietary memory. To me the entire appeal of the Vita surrounded it's natural state, just using it as a PS Vita to play Vita games.

No way I am modding my two Vita's I bought new lol. I got a couple 351 devices for this kinda thing, and I am looking forward to the next generation of those devices and seeing how that turns out.

@@mrjohnnyk why wouldn’t you mod them if they’re new, it’s only a softmod not a hardmod so it’s not like you have to physically modify your vita, modding a vita is only beneficial, it won’t affect its ability to function normally and adds so much, I don’t think I would’ve bought the 2 vita’s I have if I didn’t discover the modding scene

It's strange to see that it looks like the 3rd core is doing all the heavy lifting when you're playing 007.. the other 3 cores are under relatively light load.. I think this is down to how the emulator has been written and optimised.. if it was better able to load balance across the cores (if it was optimised for multi core processors) then it would run a lot better.
To be fair the N64 itself was very single-threaded, including running sound on the CPU (no discrete sound chip), so it makes sense that the emulator is mostly single-threaded. There is an option to move sound emulation to a separate thread, but that lowers compatibility.

I think there’s quite a lot to explore with New 3DS/2DS and emulation (not the old models). They’re great little handhelds with some emulation potential.
I have a 2ds and vita, and I think the Vita is better for emulation, especially if you want to use retroarch or even psp emulators. In my opinion roms and files are easier to load on vita aswell so there is that

There's gotta be a better alternative to DaedalusX64 at this point. It doesn't play 5 games I have, 6 don't play well (the Ingame tags), 2 run slow according to the tags, and of the ones that say they're "playable", they either don't have audio or have VERY laggy audio and/or they're also really slow. I only have 21 games and they're all games that I really wanted to play.
Vita is normally "underclocked" to save battery life. Overclocking just uses cpu fully in this case. System uses that mode on complex vita games automatically
Welp, watched this whole vita playlist, ordered an oled model, gonna ship tomorrow, 115 euros in mint condition, with an 8gb original vita card plus a 32gb card with a proprietary adapter. Also still has it's original box and accessories, just need to get a case and slap on a screen protector and I'm good to go

i honesty prefer the 3ds version imo, native full speed and has the 3d effect
@@HUYI1 not really, since you can patch the N64 version to run at 60fps. I don't know if Vita can handle it, at least, my phone does

Totally agree, they should have made it compatible with microSD cards from the start -- luckily the SD2Vita mod is easy :)

I can't get my ROMs to appear in the Daedalus app.
Make sure you open the folder of the game you downloaded and then drag the game (should not look like a folder) to the roms Folder
