Great interview. It came out of nowhere but I started a Headlight Restoration business in my local area and it has just really taken off. I'm looking at getting in to full car detailing and this interview has some great nuggets of information. Thank you and subbed :-)
I never knew how much some of these detailers get until I went to a high end shop that only does full details. I think his starting price was around $800 to $1200 for the basic which consisted of a 8 hour detail. He also explained that the workers get like 20 to 25% of the job. Someone might not believe these prices but the cars range in the 6 to 7 figures.
These are the types of videos I really need to consume instead of other useless videos that waste my time. I have a great serving job right now but looking to diversify and build my own business with the extra money I have.
I'm a server to. I make 30+/hour on most days. The money is good but the constant talking to people is just getting annoying as fuck. I've always wanted to be my own boss and do something where I'm not constantly talking to people all day everyday.
Love this! Great inspirational talk. As somebody looking to do exactly what the man did in the video, this is such great advice and morale booster. It isn't easy work, but I think this is a rewarding pursuit and very much in demand. BTW great channel!
Hey Luke, great interview! Phil seems like my kind of guy, Marvel and Star Wars, my top 2 favorite franchises lol On a serious note though, I'm looking to get started in mobile detailing but what's holding me back is the concern of not having a license or insurance. Is this something I should be concerned with or am I over thinking it?
When you're starting out you should be fine. Sooner is better than later but you don't need it day 1 or 6 months in. Being able to tell people who ask that you are indeed licensed and insured just sounds more proffesional.
Hey luke, question. Would it be possible to ceramic a car in direct sunlight? Being mobile, shade isnt always an option. Or, are there certain ceramics available that are sun friendly? Im leaning toward using Uk 3.0 and Gtechniq if that helps
Gyeon just released a new line of ceramics that are designed specifically for outdoor application. It's called the EVO line and if you visit the Esoteric RUclips channel they have done a review of every single coating in the EVO line.
Hi. It really depends on many factors, but for us, it took us about 2-3 years for us to really start making a proper profit, but that was years ago. Now many detailers can shorten that and really start making a full-time sustainable business within a year.
@@MirandaDetailing That is a good timeline and should be doable on my end. Im just worried since im from Washington State, we tend to not wash our cars from September to March LOL.
Thanks Luke for having me on and chatting! Hope to do it again soon!
Great job Phil!
Thanks for the time Phil! I appreciate it

Go Phil and Jess!!!
I love to watch Miranda detail on you tube
Great interview and insight. Really provided a lot of items to think about. Keep them coming.
Wow. Learned a lot in just the first half of this video. 👍
Amazing idea! It feels kind of intimidating because there isn't much of those jobs for me but i will start doing it!
Thanks for the content
Love the video congratulations
I like how he said to start with the most expensive option first. If you are confident in your work then you need to show that with your prices
Awesome interview..
I was wondering do you still use purple power when detailing ?
Great job
Interview Hunters Mobile Detailing next!

I am just now trying to get a side business going.
How long will it take usually to build a stable clientele to make this a full time job?

@@noobfisherman1626 You can still do interiors. Maintenance clients will help in those 5 months.
I bet Phil loves the incredibles👍
The Incredibles is one of the best superhero movies ever. So funny and so relatable.
@@amberatkinson4230 Without question every character was awesome especially the lady who designed the suits in the movie. She was classy and so cool

See how you speak like a human being here vs a dollar store Mark Rober in your other videos? Calm down man, you're doing too much
