- Robert Plant & Alison Krauss perform the songs "The Battle Of Evermore" & "When The Levee Breaks" at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI on June 6, 2022.
Seeing this performance makes me realize how much these Led Zeppelin songs are connected to the music of the Appalachian Mountains with their common Celtic Irish roots.
This was an amazing collaboration.
Trust me, Roberts having the time of his life and Allison is living a dream come true...

All due respect to Robert Plant, let's get that out of the way. Alison Krauss just proved my suspicions that she is one of the best female vocalists to ever grace a stage. That rendition of The Battle of Evermore was incredibly powerful and she filled every little corner over Robert's lead. Just wow.

I love that Robert has turned Alison on to Sandy Denny, Anne Briggs, Bert Jansch, etc. This is brilliant.
I was always fascinated by this track on the original album...an album full of amazing tunes...and Sandy Denny's voice seemed from beyond.
These two are great together and I love that Robert Plant is growing musically beyond LedZep...when he probably could just rest on his many laurels.
He's been growing musically beyond LZ for nearly 40 years. He has an incredible body of solo and collaborative work post-LZ.

UPDATE : That was truly an experience and a blast to have saw them ! They played all their songs from Raise the roof and even When the levee breaks, rock'n'roll and the battle of Evemore ! They played before the Eagles and I still can't believe it haha :D !

We've been watching Allison Krause since her early days with her band Union Station in Illinois-- Saw Union Station win the best new band contest in Louisville, KY in 1984-----Battle of Evermore definitely shows its Irish roots here--

Compared to hearing or seeing someone try to reenact themselves at 20-something, I love that he treats his work as songs that can mature, as hopefully, their creator and audience can, rather than precious antiques, never to be altered. Using his voice in real time, at 70+. It's different. But so are most of us.
And the arrangements point toward the roots and sources of familiar Zep tunes. Great band. Jat Bellerose is just fantastic.
And it's nice to see people using violin bows correctly onstage with Robert.

These two make a great duo. Loved the way the violins were used through out their songs. Amazing , the lion still roars so sweetly. Hear another award winning record for Alison and Robert. Thank you for a lifetime of wonderful tunes. I first saw Plant at Madison Square Garden back in the early 70's...he'll always remain the lion in my eyes.

2 AM in Croatia. Spent a day headbanging and figuring lamb of god, sepultura and some grindcore stuff on guitar, and remembered one of my pivotal influences when it comes to music. I'll never forget the times when i was discovering Led Zeppelin, and im so happy to see Robert still in the game.
Was in attendance at this Pine Knob show. Wonderful venue and absolutely stellar performance. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
It was a stunning evening. One I shall treasure. Such fabulous talent. I appreciated how much they seemed to enjoy each other, and their accompanists!
