My only complaint with Metaphor was the pacing got very weird in the third act, almost like the Mage Academy Ruins should've been an explorable dungeon, or like there should've been a main dungeon for the Autumn-themed area of the map. Instead, you do a mini 20 minute dungeon to assassinate Louis which the game counts as the 5th dungeon, wait a few days to fight Rella, wait 10 more days to fight Louis, and then you're immediately on to the final 2 dungeons of the game. Very odd design decisions, but otherwise solid game. Will be looking forward to a story DLC or sequel, cause there are some aspects I really loved.
imagine a DLC called reign of Humans , its like monster hunter esque plot on hunting all kinds of different Humans that are a new threat , new powerful equipments , archetype evolutions , new shops , new items , new resources , new ways to get stronger and a thickening maddening grotesque plot that is more crazy and threat inducing than louise

Just finished the game. I really enjoyed the game. Though I shouldn't compare, Even though the game was really well executed in some areas and the whole idea of the fantasy world was magnificent. Don't know, I felt the story lacking a bit in the end.
still a magnificent game nonetheless but expected just a bit more from the developers of persona considering it was based in a fantasy world. Not to mention there were many plotholes in the game.
Because the persona games have the characters deal with inner struggles more than anything external, that's what they're based on, this game has a much bigger scope, hence probably the reason you didn't connect much with it, you're probably not a very politically minded person, There is a lot of commentary on society as a whole in this game

The ending and story of this game are disappointing. The ending basically spits in your face that our current situation of forced coexistence between peoples, ethnicities and cultures, something that is causing problems all over the world, is actually the "long-awaited utopia and the correct path to a perfect world". Not to mention that throughout the game, it is never questioned whether a world government is the only option. Instead of giving the other regions freedom to separate from the single kingdom.
