Awesome video!!! Thank you so much for amazing, information! I'm in the beginning stages of becoming an owner operator and you answered alot of questions!
No problem, it’s a good time to become in o/o, Freight rates are thru the moon. If you’re leasing on to a company make sure they’re paying % of the load. There’s company’s out here paying 90% of the load. Find one of them. And save save save your money this year, freight rates aren’t going to stay up this high forever
Great breakdown on fees for starting out. I am getting ready to come out this next year. Just paid off my home, so everything I make will be for the business.
Great video. I learned a lot about how to get started. I am on dry van side. I took a lot of notes. I appreciate the information. Thanks. I in TN as well. Maybe we’ll run into each other
Hey bro I just say ur channel and the info ur giving is really good because I’m planning on getting my CDL and start a tracking career so I’m looking forward to watch ur next video
Don’t feel bad I’ve had my CDL since 2007 no accidents no tickets no violations I just filed for my new authority I have all my shit in line ready to go got my tractor progressive really quoted me like $25,000 because I’m a new authority it’s crazy
Yeap you are taking the right direction for getting a new authority it’s alot of responsibility thanks for letting us know this great information. Drive safely
Thank you for this video. I’m not a driver, but will be hiring my cousin to drive for me and I’m planning to buy my first truck & trailer by the end of year. It’s all a bit overwhelming but your video was full of really good information. Love that southern accent too! God Bless
What dealer did you get your truck from? ... Make sure to change the o rings and the oil suction manifold and get an overhead engine adjustment after 500k miles on that particular truck and change the fuel pump after 700k miles. That will get it to 1million miles
@@nicklestomillions2 10-4 good deal. The oil suction manifold is probably the most important thing to change on these trucks after 500k. You carry a reset tool or software? I use OTR performance but the nexlink is cheaper.
great video and all, but my mind can't comprehend the fact that your mail icon has over 25K messages! you obviously aren't ocd! i couldn't let my mail messages reach 10 before I have to clear that thing, let alone 25K
Great video and great info! You got my sub. Question for ya... for setting up authority alone. What would you say the total cost of that was? Thank you sir!
Great video man, Can you show the board for Arkansas when you do some load board videos, I’m getting my authority together plan on running Arkansas a lot bc I live there. Thanks
Yes, It's a huge difference as long as you set up right. The key is low cost of operations. Don't use any factoring or dispatching companies. Save your money and dispatch yourself
The Insurance company name is Great West Casualty. They're a good company for new authority's if you don't plan on adding more than 1 truck for the first 2 years. Keep in mind I have 8years experience with a clean record. This year it went down to $745/Month. Give them a call they should hook you up with an Insurance Broker and they'll give you a quote. Hopes this help
@@nicklestomillions2 thanks bro... i run under somebody else authority right now using that insurance company. Imma look into them more i got a quote with OODIA a year ago and they was like 2k a month 🥴... im like i got 10 years experience with a clean record HOW???! Lol.... they said its cuz of the state i live in
@@jonnyjohn1336 That's true,You will get a difference quote base on the zip code where you park your truck. Key words "park your truck" Free game you'll get a cheaper quotes if you say you park your truck in states like MS,AL,TN. You're going to pay more in Louisiana. I want to say Louisiana is one of the worse states to get Insurance.
Thank so much for the information. I heard from someone (don't know if it's correct) that you can lease-to-own a truck, and that the lease payments are 100% tax deductible. It would seem if you're going to pay taxes anyway, might as well cover the cost of the lease payment with it...?
Yes thats true, But I don't recommend leasing a truck cause the payment could be to high. I recommend paying cash or monthly payment no higher than $1500/Monthly. If you pay cash or go the monthly route, you'll be able to write off the full purchase price of the truck or trailer in the first year.
In what range was your credit when you purchased your truck. Xxx-xxx you don’t have to disclose your score just what range were you in if you may please.
Ok now I think I got a better understanding I kept hearing people say their truck payment is $1000-$1400 PER WEEK! But I think that may be the lease guys? Fuuuuck that shit! So if you buy it you have a monthly payment. Idk I’m thinking I may have my credit union finance mine
$10,000 isn’t enough to get your own Authority. The best advice I could give you is to find a 1099 job that pays % of the load. Work that job about a year or two, Focus on learning how to drive and Maneuver the truck. Pay attention where your carrier is sending you to pickup and drop off loads. Write that down and the pay. That’s a easy way for you to learn the lanes, where to go and not to go. While you’re working that job save your money and build your credit. Within 1 or 2 years you should have about 35k to 40k saved. Go out in buy a cash truck from 12k to 25k get it load ready then lease on to a carrier that’s paying 80% to 90% of the load, Save some more buy a cash trailer then get your authority. Then you’re be set debt free making bank. It’ll only take about 3 to 4 years. Hope this helps and whatever you do, don’t go out in lease a truck
Save up minimum 100k, have a good paying contract with shippers to take the brokers out (leeches) , get new truck, tent out trailer, new truck will give u 8mpg against 6 n will b low on maintenance and after 5 years u will have a truck tgats about 550k miles on it just like this guy's truck but guess what, u will save by having no payments and ur truck will most likely b still going strong as u have been the sole owner
This is literally the best video about trucking on you tube.
