- I started my blog almost 3 years ago at this point. And over those 3 years, I've learned a lot about the business side of blogging. So the other day I was meeting with a local blogger who is relatively new to the blogging world and we were discussing the things that most bloggers don't talk about. Like taxes, working with brands, and the cost of owning a blog. And it hit me that this would be a great RUclips video! So today I want to share with you the business side of blogging. No one talks about the real side of blogging, only their income and how to make money by taking their online class. I get it, but I really appreciate you for talking about things like taxes. I do other stuff on the side, like grubhub and doordash and its really a learning process

This was insanely helpful! I've been doing research for starting a blog all day and I don't think anyone touched on the cons. People only referenced the profit which is great and everything , but now I have a more realistic approach knowing the business behind the positive!

Just found your content and it’s absolutely what I needed to hear! I can say I relate with how a lot of what you see on RUclips or Instagram makes it seem like freelance, social media, blogging, etc is SO EASY to make money and I’m like uh.. this is actually really tough. It’s worth it and I’m loving it but it hasn’t been my experience to launch a company and go from 0-10k in 30 days. Happy for those that do but wow it’s taking me time to really get things going the right way! Anyway, THANK YOU for the content here!! It’s truly on point and inspiring!

This is great advice! Thank you for this video! I've watched so many videos while I'm gearing up to start my blog and nobody really does talk about these things. From what I gather it seems wise not to monetize your blog until you have a solid following, seems like the easiest way to get over that weird hump of profit/loss issues.

Yes! You need to have 1,000 subscribers AND you have to hit 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months for RUclips to review your account for monetization!
