Eluveitie ( El-Vay-Tee ) are from Switzerland and they are awesome! The instrument you are seeing is a Hurdy Gurdy and in my opinion is the coolest instrument in Metal : ) . Another great reaction ladies!
It's basically the medieval synthesizer
@@caligo7918 A lot more complicated of an instrument and such a unique sound
@@bridgetmccracken1381 that's why i'm relating it to the synthesizer: unique sound, highly complicated and lots of different options to change the sound.
Can't wait to see them live again in the US! last time I got the chance was in 2010. I miss shows...They had quite the ensemble that night. Played a lot from Evocation I. I miss Anna Murphy but think Fabienne is doing a great job as well. Trying to get the cover of Helvetios tattooed on me soon. Not my favorite album but LOVE art on the cover.
So the bands name is pronounced "el-vey-tee", they're style falls strongly into the folk metal subgenre rather than symphonic, though there is definitely some symphonic influence
And the "organ guitar" you mentioned is called a hurdy gurdy which is a medieval Celtic instrument
Some other great songs from then are the call of the mountains, ategnatos, and inis mona
I'm also gonna recommend a band I discovered when they opened for Eluveitie live called Gone in April, top songs there would be Empire of loss, if you join me, and the curtain will rise
Love Gone In April, been following their drummer since his days in Quo Vadis :P
Yeah he's awesome, I've seen their bassist before with testament but had no idea about gone in April until I saw them, he's way more impressive on their songs, so much so I've moved to playing fretless bass (not very well though), I also got to spend 20 minutes talking to Julie between sets at the show I saw them on, they're just all around good people
Yeah got to chat with them a bit too, we actually got to open for them on my side band's first gig haha
That's awesome
Why hurdy gurdy I just did a dab I wasn't prepared for that hahahahaha 🤣
Eluveitie - Call Of The Mountains
Cellar Darling - Avalanche
Oh yes please check out cellar darling though i would propose the song "Insomnia" as a starting point
Epica - “Consign to Oblivion” Live at the Zenith
You ladies will love it. Lots of powerful vocals both growling and beautiful symphonic voice. Plenty of energy :)
Absolutely! That show was amazing. Great lineup, great atmosphere. The video captures the atmosphere pretty well.
Epica are so good
I can picture Grannies playing Iron Maiden song on hurdy gurdy. How about some melodic death metal next? While We Sleep by Insomnium.
This is melodic death metal lol
Glad you liked it, that was a great reaction. Eluveitie are a Folk/Pagan Metal (not symphonic) band from Switzerland and they use a lot of traditional folk instruments (like the tin whistle, low whistle, fiddle, mandola, harp, bagpipe, bodhran or hurdy gurdy) besides the modern metal equipment. All their songs are about celtic history, life and culture in the antiquity especially about the celtic tribe of the Helvetii. Their home was located in Switzerland, eastern Austria and southern Germany until the legions of the roman empire invaded their territory and they had to flee. Eventally they joined Vertingetorix and his war against Rome (documented by Julius Caesar himself in his book "De Bella Gallico") and got defeated and subdued.
Eluveities style is death metal with a lot of screams on the male parts combined with celtic folk music and they did two pure folk albums too, without any metal ("Evocation I: The arcane dominion" and "Evocation II: Pantheon"). For the folk pieces they sing in a reconstructed version of Gaulish, a language spoken by many continental celtic tribes all over Europe. Linguists reconstructed this old language as the last person who spoke it died around the year 500 AD which was the death of that language too. All that remained were inscriptions found at archeological sites (the celts didn't write any books, like the greek or romans) and the still spoken celtic languages from Ireland or Scotland (which are related but not the same, of course) to try a reconstruction.
There was a major change in the bands lineup in 2016, when the original singer and hurdy gurdy player Anna Murphy and two other members left the band and new members joined. Two of the new people are Fabienne Erni (the singer, also playing the harp on some songs) and Michalina Malisz (playing the hurdy gurdy, she has her own channel and does riffs of other metal bands (Gojira, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Metallica) on the hurdy gurdy, the "5riffs-series).
Great songs with the old lineup are "King", "Quoth the raven", "Inis Mona" or the folk piece "Omnos"
Great songs with the new lineup (besides "Rebirth") are "Ategnatos", "The Slumber", "Worship", or the folk pice "Epona" (ruclips.net/video/4GXoafWv86M/видео.html . After the credits there is some information at the end of the video by the founder of the band Christian "Chrigel" Glanzmann) where he explains a bit what the song is about.
They recently did an very interesting interview with a vocal coach ruclips.net/video/y14pAyoAiIM/видео.html
Please react to Bloodywood, they're Indian folk metal, you won't regret it!
besides being a great band they're great human beings, their lyrics are about things like losing a loved one, fighting depression, standing up against bullying... and they donate to different causes.
Songs:
Jee Veerey
Machi Bhasad
Yaad
Endurant
Why are you spamming?
I would love to see them react to Bloodywood!!! I literally was just thinking about that right now.
I would LOVE to see them react to Ari Ari or Jee Veerey
Nu metal meets RaTM meets Indian folk meets death metal....
Eluveitie songs from the top of my head: Inis Mona, Calling the rain, Quote the Raven, Thousandfold
Directly from the top shelf, I see.
don’t forget epona and ategnatos
Omnos primordial breath and your gaulish war
call of the mountains is one of my favorites. and a rose for epona.
Don't forget King by Eluveitie, their best song imo
Had the privilege of seeing these last November live. Utterly incredible. You could each of the 9 members and their instruments all working together like the songs wouldn't work if one element was gone. The vocalists are so good, especially the female singer who is flawless live
Eluveutie is not symphonic metal, it's folk metal and yeah there is a difference :D
I got furious at myself because of getting triggered at that hahahaha
Isn’t the difference just the instruments since they just about everything from bagpipes to flute to even a hurdy gurdy
@@asuraXTC the difference is the overall sound and tunes in the music. The folk instruments like flutes, bagpipes, violins etc plays into making the genre as well. Symphonic metal takes orchestral instruments more, and has a more epic, grand sound and melody as well.
Sometimes they are very much melodeath... this song has elements of melodeath and folk metal i'd say. And it's fantastic.
Symphonic metal is mostly trash. Except Epica. Epica are amazing. Because they're what I would call "symphonic progressive melodic death metal". Calling them merely symphonic metal is an understatement and even kind of an insult, imo.
Eluveitie are mostly melodic death metal. But also folk metal. And I love them.
Their song called King, with their former singer it's also amazing. Thanks for another great video ladies 🤘
Rose for Epona
Omnos
Quoth the raven
Slanias song
Calling the rain
Tegernako!!
I second Slanias Song!
Gray sublime archon is 5/5
Why does everyone forget Inis Mona?
Don't forget :
LVGVS
King
Inis Mona
Epona
Slumber
Breathe
Here's some info about the band, they are actually considered Folk Metal, their lyrics are primarily in English and Gaulish, which is a Celtic dead language spoken by an ancient tribe known as the Helvetians. The name Eluveitie means "I am Helvetian" in Gaulish. For the Gaulish lyrics, they collaborate with a university professor to try to get as good of a translation as possible.
More from this band to check out:
Inis Mona
Quoth The Raven
Omnos
Havoc
Your Gaulish War
Uis Elveti
Please do Dio - Holy Diver, Don't talk to Strangers, or Rainbow in the dark
That would be awesome!!!
@@Hrrrmntc I've been requesting that for weeks and still nothing 😔 sometimes a lot of people see but nothing yet.
@@ChrisSmith-cw1cl I was hoping replying to your comment would help them see it! I guess we'll have to keep it up 😉
@@Hrrrmntc yeah man. I'm here with every video😂I try to be within the first minute
I've asked for Dio a couple times as well. Rainbow in the Dark is my first choice, but the other songs you mentioned would be up there too.
I saw these guys live in 2016 or 17. By far one of the coolest concerts I’ve ever been to. The singer would alternate between singing while playing banjo and then taking a flute out of a holster full of flutes around his waist, playing it and throwing it into the crowd while bringing the banjo back around.
Yas! Next maybe Ningen Isu's Heartless or The Sidh's Khan??
Ningen Isu are superb! Grannieeeesss!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed them!!! Could you try THE SIDH- KHAN?
They're an Italian band that plays Celtic metal/rock that got a throat singer to do the vocals. It's rocking for sure!!
The rabbit hole called Folk Metal, which Eluveitie well represents, can really pull you in! :)
You should react to The Hu - Wolf Totem
Eluveitie: A Rose for Epona! :D
Yes this song
if you like this type of music...you should listen to In Extremo...a german band that incorperates medieval in metal music...they build their own medieval instruments and uses German, French, Dutch, Latin texts from the 8th to 14th C for the lyrics ( their first records)
I second this! Fantastic band!!
They also make a ton of actual folk music, sung in reconstructed Gaulish. This band is astoundingly talented and gets precious little recognition for it.
Hell yeahz. They ROCK. Wanna try anything MUSHROOM HEAD or THE SIDH? the Sidh's KHAN is my fav!
This is my favorite band, and this video made my week! I'm so happy you enjoyed it.
Thanks to Eluveitie's music and lyrics, I know so much more about Gaulish legends and history. They have improved my life so much.
Eluveitie has much better songs in the old day's, Inis Mona for example
i disagree i think the new album is amazing
Inis Mona is 1 of there best 4 sure
call of the mountains
@@JLTS76 I don't say that there new album's aren't good :) they are good for sure, it was just my opinion^^ I just love the older songs more 😅
I agree. I personally prefer their old lineup and especially Anna Murphy. Call Of the Mountains is still one of my favorite songs. Her stuff with some of the old members, Cellar Darling, is great too.
I would love to see The Hu - Yuve Yuve Yu.
The hu.... all is great in that band!!
Call of the Mountains, The Slumber, Thousandfold are my favorite Eluveitie songs. Each has such a different vibe and l think you will love Anna Murphy's vocals in Call of the Mountains. Just beautiful voice! Thank you Ladies! Hope you enjoy!
Thank you for reacting to Eluveitie :)
You should react to Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars
Or even "Death and the Heling " for its mood.
There’s always someone who asks for it
@@theyonlycomeoutwhenitsquiet So there's a reason for it.
I saw them in concert a few years ago...Absolutely AMAZING!!! 😊💜
luckily :(
I saw them last year, I just wish I'd also gotten to see them with Anna still singing
I saw them in 2008,was amazing
Eluveitie (el-vay-tee) is a Swiss folk metal band; often singing in old Gaulish rather than English and using traditional instruments mixed with modern metal instruments. The "organ guitar" Michalina was playing is called a Hurdy-Gurdy (rotary lute) that was popular in 10th century Europe. This is one of my favourite tracks of theirs, with The Call of the Mountains coming in second.
For more obscure metal subgenres check out:
Viking Metal: Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God
Pirate Metal: Alestorm - Drink
fun fact metal and classical music are closely linked. I'm a metal fan but played viola and was first soprano for classical choir. the arrangements are similar. that's why these genres work so well together
Gah!! This was the last band I got to see live before the COVID lockdowns. They are absolutely amazing live.
That instrument she's playing is called a Hurdy Gurdy.
Yes!!!! You finally did it! Thank you thank you thank you! This band used to have a few different band members that recently left, so I would recommend checking out their earlier music. “Call of the Mountain” is a popular one, along with “Havoc” and “King”. Would love to see more Eluveitie.
I'm also for The Sidh - Khan 👌🤟🤟🤟🤟
And Iridium
I got to see them live at St.Andrews in Detroit in 2014. Anna Murphy threw a rose and a signed set list at my face. Still got both.
YES!!! Eluveitie is awesome! You need to do something from their old lineup. THE CALL OF THE MOUNTAINS!!!! Which I've been asking for, for weeks now. 😁😁😁
They are awesome live. I've seen them once with their old lineup and once with their new lineup. Was supposed to see them this September too, but COVID-19 ruined that. ☹🙁☹🙁
I am so happy I stumbled across these wonderful old ladies. Keep on rockin!
For some background on the band: the main man behind this is the vocalis/growler Chrigel, started the band for just to be a studio project in 2002, they had a lot of member changes in the years, but the concept is still to combine the celtic roots/music with melodic death metal or gothenburg metal. They are a swiss band, and for me their best songs are Inis Mona, Thousandfold, A Rose For Epona, Havoc, The Call Of The Mountains, The Slumber and King. \m/
Pronounced
El vee tee
You Grannies have been hitting my wheelhouse lately. Here's a list of bands (some I know you've covered) and songs by them.
Avatar- Tower, Hail the Apocalypse, paint me red, smells like a freak show
Heidevolk- Vrijgevochren
Gideon- Cursed,Cold
Parkway Drive- Wishing Wells, Absolute Power
Flogging Molly- Float, Within a mile of home

Breakdown of Sanity- December, Paralyzed
Make them Suffer- Vortex, Save Yourself
Lamb of God- Now You've got something to die for, Memento Mori
Chimaira- Resurrection, Nothing Remains, Secrets of the Dead
I'll leave you with that for now.
AMON AMARTH THE WAY OF THE VIKINGS!!!!!!!!!!! Ladies, please react to this one. I've been requesting this for the last 246 thousand years it seems like.
It’s a horrible choice for Amon Amarth imo. There’s tons of better songs
@@hannahstevenson27 I'm going to have to disagree on that one. Why would that be a bad song to introduce them to?
If you liked the celtic you should reallt do Across the sea with Leaves eyes.
zeb souza Are you a new fan of the band?. Their newer stuff just isn’t their best, that’s all. Not that Jomsviking is a bad album or anything. It’s not even the best song on that album though either imo
@@hannahstevenson27 I was introduced to them back when they made the Versus the World album. I think that was like 2002 or something. I just think that we're as it's not their best song, it's an easy on the ears introduction to that band.
Love your reactions! How about the band The Sidh? Their song "Khan" should be a rocker for you!
Love it. Try “solitaire unraveling by mushroom head”. Truly great lyrics.
It's rubbish 😂😂
Happy to say I'm discovering new music, thanks to you guys 🤟❤
The strange instrument 🎹 is called a 'hurdy gurdy'
Love from Norway, grannies 🍻
Alestorm, Korpiklanni, Svartsot, Mago de Oz, Heidevolk, Skiltron, Nine Treasures, Manegarm, and Suidakra are all folk metal bands with different sounds from different countries, in case anyone is interested in getting into the genre.
Absolutely fantastic Grannies. Loved it.
I would encourage you ladies to watch some live Eluveitie shows from the past couple years. You can see everyone in their elements! 😍
Fantastic! “King” by Eluvietie or “call of the mountains” are also both great. Honestly their whole catalogue is great! oh and it’s pronounced El-Vay-Tee. Love y’all! Oh, in a lot of their songs they’ll sing in Gaulish. Each member of of the band can play multiple instruments.
The "organ guitar" is actually called a Hurdy Gurdy
Great band. Thank you for reacting to them.
Amorphis - The Bee, Nightbirds Song, Amongst Stars
Lots of different vocals😉
Amazing growling🥰
Slaughter to Prevail- Demolisher
Killswitch Engage- The Signal Fire
Nobody seems to be mentioning that the hurdy gurdy is also referred to as the wheel fiddle because of how it produces sound.
Also, If you like flute in metal, you should see how Rhapsody tells a story in Sacred Power of Raging Winds. Not only do they trade off between metal instruments and part of Vivaldi's Flute Concerto in C minor RV 441, they have narration by the late Christopher Lee.
Eluveitie is amazing.
You should try and react to Haggard for a complete band. It is more medieval style.
Per Aspera Ad Astra, Eppur Si Muove, Herr Maneling are epic.
Eluveitie--Inas mona, your gaulish war, many others.. Saw them live in Chicago for the first Paganfest America tour, insane energy
They have such a unique sound. Some songs use growling, some use clean vocals, some use a mix like this one. Plus the variety of instruments are crazy. They had a big lineup change a few years ago losing a singer/hurdy gurdy player, guitarist and their drummer. The new singer, new hurdy gurdy player, new guitarist and new drummer are all incredible and the band is better than ever.
Though I am still a little partial to the old lineup, which is why I keep asking for the song The Call Of The Mountains. The song King is pretty awesome too. The three members that left started a band called Cellar Darling. A different style of music than Eluveitie but worth checking out. 😁
I was so surprised when I saw this video on my subscription feed... But man was I happy. Eluveitie is far from being my favorite band, but I have a special relationship with them and it was amazing seeing you react to them
My favorite band! 😍 Pronounced "El Vay Tee" . And that instrument is a hurd y gurdy. 😂
You can't dislike these grannies !!!
thank you ladies, i had lost track of that band years ago, I see that they changed some members and they are still awesome :)
Great reaction, Eluveitie (pronounced Elveytee) is a folk metal band from Switzerland (also known in latin as Confoederatio Helveticae) and the name of the band is in fact a tribute to the celtic tribe that lived in the alpine region when the roman empired ruled the world :) and that eventually originated the country's name back in the days. Eluveitie originally created this subgenre of metal by combining traditional celtic music, death metal growls and bright melodic female vocals. I suggest you their signature songs "inis mona" and "call of the mountains" both from their previous line up.
This was a great pick ladies! Eleveuite is a great band and I've loved this song ever since listening to the album. I think you ladies should hear What the Dead Men Say by Trivium, you will not be disappointed 😎🤘
Yay! Been requesting this one non-stop. Was sure you two would enjoy this crazy mix of instruments XD. Glad you liked it.
If you plan on revisiting this one in the future the song "inis mona" might be a good one. It also includes a bagpipe too, so that's another different sound being added into the mix there.
5:20 Hurdy Gurdy & thistles solo ... so awesome!
EL-VAY-TEE - Folk Metal is what they're doing. A lot of their songs are in Old Gaulish, the old language of Helvetia (what is now Switzerland). Fabienne (female vocalist) and, Jonas (white guitar) have a side-band, Illumishade. They released their debut album recently. I recommend :
Illumishade - Rise (Official Video)
Illumishade - World's End (Official Video)
Illumishade - Crystal Silence (Official Lyric Video) 🤘 ❤️
Eluveitie (Elu-vay-tee) :D
Flute = Tin Whistle
Organ Guitar = Hurdy Gurdy (Rotary Harp)
Acoustic Guitar like instrument = Lute (could be wrong as there is many instruments like it with slight variations)
Hand Drum = Bodhran
Great Reaction :D
You two must definitely check out "Meshuggah - Bleed"!
Two thumbs up for Granny and Nana⚘⚘....lol...she said growler
I am gonna say this is a new one for me thank grannies you have introduced me to something new. I do have a request not a lot of people know them the band is called Amaranthe and the song is The Nexus it’s three lead vocals the lady’s name is Elize Ryd and she has a very lovely voice next is Henrick Englund Wilhelmsson does the harsh growls but for the song The Nexus its Andreas Solvestrom and the cleans are Jake E but has been replaced by Nils Molin
Grannies, make a brazilian fan happy: Sepultura - Roots Bloody Roots
Oh hell yeah
Damn yeah pal!
Ratmahatta though...
They've done so many better songs than roots!
@@w-james9277 dear sir need your hearing privileges revoked and your ears confiscated..
Jokes dude , they did some killer stuff but roots is what tore the roof of metal and shone a much needed new light , not only that I would bet they'd love the clip too .
Peace dude
The original female lead singer has a new band called Cellar darling and a song I would love you to do is called Black Moon by them plus you get to see a hurdy gurdy
Loved this reaction ❤️
Moree Eluveitie (El-Y-Ti) Please !!!
Check out "King" or "Inis Mona"
"some days i wake up that´s just how i feel" i like that comment.
pronounced "elu-vaiti", its a Swiss Folk Metal band formed in 2002 !
they are about 7-10 ppl in the band, changes at times
they use common middle european instruments like the hurdy-gurdy, violine, celtic harve etc ...
2006-2016 was probably their best time when Anna Murphy was on lead female vocals and the hurdy-gurdy
you guys should check out "rose for epona" for example
They are folk metal than symphonic metal. I love that they incorporate the hurdy gurdy instrument. Which is a rare instrument to play.
Since you ladies enjoyed this, you should check out 'Ilumishade' - "World's End".
It's the lead female singers, Fabienne's side project. It's where her vocals really shine, I feel. Enjoy.
Absolutely love this band, if you want to follow up on them please consider King, Thousandfold, Havoc, or the more epic songs like Rose for Epona or call of the mountains. (or find the best gateway song for Eluveitie - ins Mona).
The Sidh Iridium! I saw Their sing Khan recommended and while I love that song, Iridium is a harder rock song of theirs!
Iridium is fantastic actually!!!
You should react to some of Metallica’s S&M shows. I know you gals love Metallica and in those songs they play through a bunch of their catalog along with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. I really enjoy the Ecstasy of Gold/Call of Ktulu from those shows.
You should also check out some:
Megadeth- Holy Wars
Anthrax- Among the Living
Mushroomhead-QWERTY
iwrestledabearonce- Boat Paddle
Psychostick- This is not a song it’s a sandwich
Pantera- Cemetery Gates
Korn- Freak on a Leash
Lamb of God- Laid to Rest
Amon Amarth- Crack the Sky
Alestorm- Keelhauled
Devin Townsend- Kingdom (on EMG TV)
Rage Against the Machine- Killing in the Name
Prophets of Rage- Unf*ck the world
Meshuggah- Bleed
I could go on and on
This band combine metal and that melody together very well! You should give Oceans of slumber a listen, they have an amazing female vocalist and the singles for their new album are sounding great!
The Call of the Mountains!!!!! My first song I fell in love with by them
Please react to "Ningen Isu" - "Heartless Scat".
Ok rocking grannies i truly enjoy watching the both of you doing reaction videos especially JINJER.there is still (WHO IS GOING TO BE THE ONE)LIVE to do.maybe even (OUTLANDER) & (SCISSORS). Keep rocking and ill keep watching. THANK YOU!!!
I call them a Swedish, Celtic, Grunge, Metal band and sometimes they put all styles in 1 song. Try Call of the Mountain.
I think my first introduction to Eluveitie was with their old singer, Anna Murphy in the video for "Call of the Mountains" I'm somewhat surprised I haven't seen that song mentioned. Much different feel but still bad ass.
Crazy song liked it. It's going to be a Happy birthday after all thank you Granny's
Grannies! How have you not done Disturbed yet?! Down with the Sickness, Stupify, Prayer, Stricken, No More, Sound of Silence! So many great options
you must react to Sabaton they are realy good!!
songs like:
Night witches
Ghost Divison
red baron
lion from the north
Some suggestions : The HU,Alien Weaponry,Wardruna,Heilung,Aurora,Apocalyptic Orchestra,Bloodywood,Sheperds Reign.....open your Mind to Metal / Folk Music from all over the World !....i swear, you will love it !
wow never heard before.
thank you 2RG 👍☺
The pronunciation is (more-or-less) el-VAY-tee. This may be my favorite band (at least among those whose members are all younger than me, and that applies *most* bands nowadays). My two favorite musical styles are metal and Celtic folk, and these musicians do both of them extraordinarily well - often at the same time. Like you, I wouldn't have thought those genres would blend together so well until I heard 'em do it!
'Call of the Mountains' and 'Rose for Epona' are the best song by Eluveitie. You should also check out the band Cellar Darling, Anna Murphy and Merlin were formerly part of Eluveitie.
You ladies are amazing I love that you want to learn. I think you would love Bloodywood they are a metal band from India, don't worry there are english subtitles. Their songs have great messages one even promotes mental health awareness.
Eluveitie is old Gaelic and is pronounced "el-vey-tee" , it's meaning is "I am Helvetian" - Helvetian coming from the Roman name for Switzerland "Confederatio Helvetica". They are classified as Melodic-Death-Metal and Folk-Metal. Their signature Song "Helvetios" is in my opinion our unofficial Swiss National Anthem.
I am so glad I stumbled on y'all ♥️ Always reminds me of my own Nana😀 She always stood up for me in my long hair and music choices. Being from the South, my lifestyle wasn't exactly accepted at the time. She even admitted that she liked some of the music ♥️♥️
Love you guys
Nice, folk metal, well done ladies! Saw them live last year, it was awesome \m/
PANTERA- Domination live moscow
Famous last words - The show goes on
Love Eluveitie! They are great! My suggestion is:
- King.
If you're interested in something similar, but heavier there's Equilibrium - Wirtshaus Gaudi and/or Waldshrein, or optionally Finntroll - Trollhammaren..!
The fact that traditional folk music goes well with metal is surprising to many, but the fact is that metal has a lot in common with classical music..!
If you like this, then try Finntroll - Trollhammaren. You`ll love it.
Golly. You lured me in with Nightwish (my favorite band of all eternity), and now you do Eluveitie (my 2nd/3rd favorite band)?! You folks are too much fun, haha. There's plenty more from both of those groups to check out, thankfully, and Fabienne (Eluveitie's singer) recently formed her own symphonic metal band, Illumishade, too. If you're interested in other stars of the symphonic/folk/power metal rabbit hole, some of my other favorites to keep on your radar are Sabaton, Korpiklaani, WagakkiBand, Skyforger, and Blind Guardian. But I'm content with whatever you put out! Happy to be in the Granny Squad!
