My experiences with CZ 22s, is telling me you are doing something wrong. Try Shooting off a bag instead of the bipod and check your scope installation.
Luis Magana I’m getting the same as in the video but with just using the iron sights. I’m old with bad eyes so I feel adding a scope will get me much better results.
Yes I have a friend that has a 455 precision trainer and it shoots well. A lot of people surprisingly said their 457 shoots like this. Stick with the 455.
Not sure whats happened there. Ive got a 455 and shoots 1/2 inch groups all day every day using cci standard. Love my CZ. I get they are different set ups.
Corey D, I got the same rifle last week, took it to the range this weekend and was printing from 3/4 to 1/2 inch groups at 50 yds. I torqued the action screws to 25 inch/lbs.used CCI standard, Norma USA tac 22, and FGM all 40 gr. CCI did the best, I was so impressed I ordered an MPA chassis for it, hope you figure it out bud.
i'm pretty sure i torqued them to roughly 30 but i'll have to double check. several people have commented about how much that makes a different in the czs. 25 is probably a good place to start.
Thanks for the review, I have a 455 lux in .22mag. I like the 457 a little better. My trigger only adjust weight. I'm trying to decide between the 457 varmint .22 mag and the Henry long barrel frontier.
I guess its a function of the ammo. For example, on my 457 Varmint Eley Club [orange box] and SK Match get tighter groups than sub MOA [at 50] when compared to Standard CCI and Federal.
i mean i get that. but if it doesn't shoot target or force OR center x well its not worth it. the whole point of a good barrel is it shoots most types of ammo well. defeats the purpose to have to buy 25 dollar a box ammo to go out and get good results. i already sold it.
Good video. Was wondering about the cool down of barrel between tests? Tested 19 different types of ammunition in my 457, landed on CCi copper hollow point copper coated. After break in on bench rest shoots sub 1 min after break in of barrel. The chronograph really tells the story of different ammunition. Used a scale from my archery gear to weigh each round in the box. The best quality for the best price ended up being the Norma. The cci leaves less to clean in the barrel after 400 rounds a day for the last couple days. Thanks for the video Corey.
not sure i've ever had a 22 that the barrel even got warm. maybe on a day when its 100 degrees out but i don't shoot then anyway. don't even think the suppressor even got warm. now on a 22 piston its a different story, the can gets ALMOST hot.
I have several CZ and they all shoot great. Those are probably the worst groups I’ve seen out of a CZ. Have you tried again maybe after you got used to the gun? Mine all do really well with subsonic ammo. I use RWS subsonic and CCI Subsonics mostly.
Try the Federal Hunter Match 40gr JHP and Winchester Power Points in either 40 or 42gr......... Stop cleaning it...! Stop cleaning it...!! Stop cleaning it...!!! You will notice the groups close up, my rimfire hated the Hornady 30gr v-max's when new (averaged 1.7MOA), now at roughly 800rnds (last cleaned at 200rnds) it shoots 5 shot groups at 50 about the size of a horse fly (about 0.5MOA)...!!! Have patience and don't write it off too quickly...!!
Thanks for the video. I recently purchased a CZ 457 scout and I’m getting about the same with the iron sights. I’m hoping that after adding a scope that’ll improve ( my eyesight isn’t very good I’m in my 60’s ). So far the CZ is one of the better rimfires I own. Like you i like CCI standard velocity ammo.
My 457 Varmint will shoot SK Rifle Match .238" @ 50yds and Lapua Center X .129" @ 50yds. At 100yds 1.03" & .617" respectively on a REALLY good day. :) Had to put a Yo Dave trigger spring in and adjusted to 1lbs. Ya gotta find the ammo it likes. I sold mine because I didn't want to pay to have the barrel threaded and the stock is too nice to bang around on barricades in NRL22 so I ordered the synthetic stock/threaded barrel version. Check out my vid on my T1x vs the Varmint.
Have you tried different torque settings on the action bolts? CZ rimfires tend to like em "tight". At least, that is my experience with the 5 CZ rimfires that I use!
@@coreyd1474 Ok, have you tried removing and re-installing the barrel and re-torqueing it to spec? And carefully examining for small burrs? Just tossing out some ideas that have helped solve some accuracy riddles, that might help out!
I just got a CZ 457 and had the same results as you did. It will not outshoot my Ruger Precision Rimfire. I bought this gun as an upgrade to my Ruger and so far am not happy with it at all.
Got the same with my new rifle, but after 300 rounds it got to make one hole at 50 meters. You got the trigger behavior and barrel got the lead fouling as it should
Just got a cz457 trainer. The best ammo I used was winchester x22lrpp.was getting 1/2" group at 55 yes. 40 grain 1280 fps.i was surprised since people bash winchester super x. Love it. Have different ammo on order just to see what is best.you need to try different ammo. I do like the cci standard velocity
Thanks for a good video. I bought the .457 Royal a month ago. Also didn't shoot too well with CCI but I've had good groups with S&B. I'm shooting subsonic HP though for varmints and its accurate enough to take ear shots or between the eyes at 40m or so. The build quality is something special on these rifles. Just wish we could get the accessories you guys have in the states here in NZ! A 15MOA tactical rail would be amazing. Thanks for sharing your experience bro and looking forward to an update on the grouping!
@@claytonmcleod2497 sorry I just saw your message now. Very happy with mine. I've got a few thousand kills to it now. Very accurate. I'm using cci standard velocity now. Perfect.
You might try a pressure pad under the barrel near the receiver, but you would need to experiment with that a little. Also some people put a shim behind the recoil lug ( they are a little loose ) to be sure it holds the barrel from moving back. I have the same rifle and it does shoot much better than this. It took several hundred rounds through it before it settled down. Good luck with it.
yea i still have several more ammo types to try. just a little disappointed it doesn't shoot cci std vel as well as my cheaper rifles. nice to have to buy just one type for all rifles.
Corey D Also, as some have mentioned, check the torque on the barrel grub screws as well as the action screws. Try shooting off a proper rest . My Varmint just doesn’t do as well from a bipod as it does from a rest with a good rear bag. Mine shoots just ok with CCI SV but , of course, does much better with Sk or Lapua ammo. Seriously, try the pressure pad experiment. I use bicycle inner tube. I found a 2 inch piece about an inch from the receiver did help accuracy, but the size and location of the pad differs rifle to rifle. Glass bedding is always helpful.
@@coreyd1474 in the woods I just love the magnum man. It’s got the penetration and the knockdown. The 17 is good but it always just blows up on impact. @@southernplumber7373 LOL its a toy for adults too. i can shoot steel with my vudoo accurately at 600+. but i love the magnum too as well. haven't had one in some time though.
Thanks for the video! I am looking at these pretty hard right now. Those groups are disappointing. I bet you will find something that will shrink the groups.
I just picked up a 457 Lux in .22LR. Tried finding proper scope rings locally but nothing worked to get me up over the factory irons so guess I’ll have to order something online.
Corey D None yet. Looking on amazon at this very minute. Had the Warne Rimfire High rings and they wouldn’t let the Nikon Prostaff Rimfire scope clear the iron sights. Took those back and returned them because they didn’t have any higher rings. I wasn’t wanting to spend 100 bucks on the 419 base but may end up doing that just to be done. Which rings do you have on yours ?
I have an RPR 22 and had nothing but issues with it for about 600 rounds. Tried about 20 different ammo lines and never got it under 1" at 50 even with action torque testing. Installed a GMR 16" barrel and everything was suddenly fixed. Its shooting ~.68" at 50 using SK pistol match, action screws at 30. MV using Magneto Speed is 1075-1080, sorry don't remember the true sd/es. I was looking at the CZ 475 Varmint for a second rifle system because people have been saying good things about out of box accuracy. I wouldn't mind having a second RPR so i dont have to share rifles with my wife, but i don't feel like paying for another GMR barrel to fix issues i know i will have, when i can hopefully get what i'm looking for right out of the box. I appreciate your CZ review as its helping me figure out what i'm looking for in a second rifle system. * had to update this because i mentioned moa but my notes are actually inches.
A lot of people have commented and said theirs shoot the same as this. Save your money and buy a Tikka t1x mtr. Mine is amazing and I'm glad I got rid of my 457 but I understand this one rifle doesn't reflect all 457s

@@coreyd1474 have you ever had a chance to test fire a Vudoo? Curious as it has the rem 700 action style. It would make an apples to apples trainer for my 30" 6.5 Creed. Little on the pricey side since the Tika T1x MTR can be acquired with a nice scope for the acquisition price of a Vudoo.
@@bigturbobigblocks na i didn't know you could. i'm just not sure the vudu's are worth the 4000 dollar price tag when rifles like me tikka and other MUCH cheaper rifles will shoot as well. i mean sure its cool to flex on the gram with one but i could never ever justify buying one.
It is a very nice rifle and nice after Mkt. Bolt CZ’s have beautiful stocks. Amazing you have a match barrel and usually a tighter chamber so CCI STD. probably not the right size for your rifle for 1/2” groups. I would consider putting at least a 25 power scope on this rifle and lower the scope rings ie(1/8” above barrel),get a quality 20MOA rail (DIP RAILS online are excellent), and use a quality bench rest or bag and adjust the trigger to around 1 lb. or less for bench. You have to try more quality ammo I have at least 16 kinds of .22 ammo and my CZ455 likes Eley Match, SK LONG RANGE probably the best but I shoot 100yd. & 200yds with CZ’s & Anschutz MPR 64with Weaver T-34 scope. I am sure you can get sub MOA with that rifle as CZ’s are extremely accurate
First of all thank you for this video. That gun looks amazing. I wished you had more types of ammo to shoot with but that's ok you used CCI standard which is what I mostly used. I am disappointed with the butt stock myself as it is angled down. Would've been better straight. Overall you persuaded me to wait and think about this. I was planning to buy this gun next week. I wonder why it isn't that accurate as its talked up to be. If the ruger precision does a bit better accuracy wise I don't know if I will buy this gun. Though I saw another video with the pro varmint very accurate. What do you think?
I can say that OVERALL the Ruger shoots more ammo better but as you said I have a small test group. Knowing what I know now and having both I would go with the rprf. My personal opinion
@@coreyd1474 I really wanted this gun. I already have the rpr but I totally thought the cz would out shoot the rpr. I mean even though you only shot with 4 types of ammo the cz should have done amazingly with CCI standard.
@@coreyd1474 this may be off topic from this cz video but maybe if I want tighter groups I can upgrade my barrel on my rpr. Do you know any proven barrels for the ruger 22lr that I can look at and maybe not be too expensive?
I know you were doing tests but if you are really trying to get accuracy now try torquing the action bolts. Mine were less than 10 in lbs. I torqued it to 15 IN lbs now its shooting around 1" groups at 100 with SK Red Box
Season the barrel with a dry bore snake once before shooting it and after each 100 rounds for three hundred rounds. It worked wonders for my 457 American
Yep! Without a doubt don’t worry about group size ‘TIL you’ve shot a brick through it and as already been said STOP cleaning it! You will be surprised at the difference that will make. About the only time I barrel clean my Lithgow is when I put it away for a few months, when I bring it out to play again it gets a good 50+ warming up before I do anything else, I would say good luck but being late to the party I expect you have already got it sorted or I hope so😉👍 kind regards from across the pond.
not exactly comparing apples to apples there witht he lightgow. i've tried basically everything with this gun with the same results. not cz's best effort but i know they make good stuff. thanks for the input!
I got that stock bag off midway. i think its their brand bag. sorry i'd post a link but the video would probably be taken down. The patch is from my old guard base , 178th in springfield.
@@coreyd1474 thank you, I love that patch hopefully I can find one some day. Really enjoy my 457 but accuracy is lacking but that will all change with the Bartlein barrel.
Most CZ 457 rifles come with an accuracy target showing how the weapon performed at the factory. If you can't match or beat those results, then the disappointing test runs are on you. One bench shooter reported that the 457 varmint precision trainer out performs the CZ 457 varmint mtr-which to his knowledge has never won a national match
This is an older video so unsure of the status of your rifle. If you still have it, I will offer some thoughts to improve accuracy. These things worked for me. First know that some rifles need some tinkering to get optimum accuracy. BTW I own the same model and I consistently get sub MOA from plinking ammo. First thing I did was to scrub the barrel. It was filthy. I use JB Bore Paste on all my new rifles because it acts like a lapping compound. The CZ barrels are generally in good shape since they are hammer forged and don't need to be lapped but the paste helps. Anyway I kept up with Wipe Out and Accelerator, and Rimfire Blend and brushing (nylon) and patches until it was clean. This took a long while. Next I put a 12oz trigger spring in it and adjusted down to less than one pound. The trigger weight greatly affects accuracy. Next I adjusted the action screws to 20 in lbs. using my torque screwdriver. I shot 100 rounds of Federal Range Pack (NOT value pack) because it does not have any lube on it, just a lead round nose ammo. Then cleaned the bore, then another 100 rounds, then cleaned, then another 100 rounds. Lastly I got a pack of shims from Trigger Shims and put a 0.003" bolt shim in. SAAMI headspace is 0.043" and the 457's all seem to measure out to be about 0/046". Use a bench rest without the bipod, and start at 25 yards. CCI ammo is known to have a thicker rim than other brands. The rim thickness can affect accuracy. The Diamondback is a good scope but gives parallax down to 25 yards only. No offense but I would adjust how you got that mounted. Good luck and I hope this helps.
@@coreyd1474 Sorry that it did not work out for you. I meant to tell you that CZ chambers their 22LRs according to CIP specs, the European equivalent of SAAMI. I have asked them for the chamber dimensions of the 457 but it seems to be a closely guarded secret - I suppose for competitive reasons. Looking at the CIP diagram suggests that the chamber is more like the American Bentz chamber - not as tight as Match but better than Sporting. The headspace is still listed at 0.0429" however. Best regards.
Good vid man. Try some other ammo's. I had my 457 Varmint out yesterday and was shooting sub MOA at 100 yds.(no wind). Lapua Center X was the best, then Eley Tenex and Eley Match. It doesn't like any of the CCI choices including Green Tag. Some of the SK works well too. I even tried the SK Long Range and it shot no better on steel at 200yds than the others so don't waste your $$ there. I also have a Tikka T1X I've shot side by side with the CZ switching out the scope and it likes completely different ammo. The gun likes what the gun likes. Buy 10-15 different ones and spend a day at the range and have fun. Btw... the Eley Force is designed for semi auto's so don't expect great things out of a bolt gun.
If I understand MOA correctly, none of the groups are close. MOA for 50 yards would roughly .50 or 1/2 inch. 1 inch groups would be MOA at 100 yards. That being said, there is a lot of variables to consider before you right this off as defective. Try more ammo. Eliminate as much shooter error as possible. May even look at increasing the trigger weight as you may be jerking the trigger. Just my opinion.
no i agree. after i filmed these i messed with just a few more types and upped the trigger after a few other suggested it but the results were exactly the same, most were worse actually. just doesn't shoot well.
There are a hundred modern 22's out there that will consistently shoot better than these targets. It can't be this is the limit of the CZ457. I'm a Savage shooter, and all three of my Mark IIs will shoot .5 inch or better, often much better, at 50 yards with CCI std vel just about every time. I watched your Tikka video and you got similar results. It's not the rifle; you should evaluate your entire setup including how you interface with it. Are you using a rear bag? How's your follow through? I'm guessing but the groups look a little like you're giving up on the shot at trigger time, not following through. If the platform were steady, CZs should do .5" at 50 yards with standard velocity ammo. It would be helpful if you showed yourself shooting a few shots from this rifle. But personally, I don't see the open groups as the rifle's fault.
@@coreyd1474 I'm with him. Got 2 Savage Mark II's and can get .5inch groups with CCI SV all day. Sounds like you can't take any constructive criticism.
you have extrapolated what the group would be at a 100 and put it down as the 50 yard measurement. How else can you fit a 2" group inside of a 1.5" circle. The groups still suck but they are half the size of what you have written down.
@@coreyd1474 I hate hearing that because that gun was gonna be my next purchase. I have watched most of your videos, would you take the Savage chassis gun over the CZ then?
Nice attempt. If you are looking for accuracy, shoot good ammunition. Personally, I’ll use CCI SV to get on paper then switch to Lapua Center X. Ammo consistently is the only way to test your rifle. Experiments with two unknown are a waste of time and money.
yea i understand where you're coming from. however quality barrels should shoot *most* ammo *well.* my rprf shoots several types of ammo at MOA or better. from cci std vel to expensive shit like eley target. But like you said i still have several different types of ammo to try and the really good stuff. thanks for the input.
Corey D I’ll respectfully disagree. I consistently see people shooting CCI SV with poor results, 3/4” to 1” @50 yards. That’s not to say they don’t have some holes touching, but the ammo is terribly inconsistent with flyers opening the group. Spend the bucks for a couple boxes of good ammo, you will be surprised what your rifle is capable of. Great gun with poor ammo yields poor results.
@@nebraskaman8247 yea i had no idea how angry people get over 22LR when i started making videos for fun. everyone's "30 year old ....... with ...... ammo and a 3-9 scope shoots 1/10th inch at 100 yards" lol. can't go wrong with a tikka i love mine. bad ejection system though.
Don't give up on the gun yet. Maybe you have a bad barrel. Call CZ-USA and tell them your accuracy problem. They may be able to help you. And BTW, I purchased a CZ-USA 455 Varmint fluted barrel and my CZ 457 American really improved from a 3/4" shooter at 50 yards to a 1/2" at 50 yards. I have two CZ 457 American one to hunt and one for benchrest shooting. The hunting one is about a 5/8" @ 50 yards and the other one is a 1/2" shooter. Also I glass bedded the action and made a difference in accuracy in both CZ 457 American. I am very happy with both of mine. Sorry for the long comment. :-)
Glad to hear you've had such good luck with yours! I'll probably try a few more types but overall it's not as fun to shoot or as accurate as my rprf. Thanks for the feedback!
I would take the area 419 base off and use dovetail rings because once I did that on my rifle it shot better. There’s something about being as close to the action without placing foreign parts that makes for better accuracy. The reason I am suggesting this is because I tried this myself on my rifle and it shot better. Try it you have nothing to loose. The rifle may very well be a shooter and the scope bases may be the culprit why is not shooting close to 1/2" @ 50 yards.
Well something is off. It's either you or your particular 457. I have seen at least 15 videos of the 457 in different styles. Mostly in the pro varmint. And these groups are more than twice what they should be. Hopefully you have just not come across the right ammo for your gun. But in all the other videos even the bad ammo shoots much better than your are getting. P.S. make sure all your screws are tight. The 2 by the trigger and all scope screws. And yes I have a pro varmint that shoots 5/8s. If you got the gun new it should have come with a proof accuracy sheet showing what it shoot at the factory.
yea this definitely isn't par for the course for cz. now that i think of it i don't believe it came with a proof sheet. i probably got a counterfeit one LOL
i love when i get these comments because you can spot a fainboi easily. people focus on "their" brand and forget to watch the rest of my videos where .2" groups are achieved with the same indian just a different bow. thanks for watching!
my cz 455 with a sporter barrel shoots better groups than that, so obviously you need to venture into the setup of the rifle before doing an honest review
Oh is that what I need to do? Rather than taking a rifle off the shelf and testing how it shoots for people who are looking for out of the box accuracy?
Hey Cory, I just ran into this video while looking around for CZ 457 videos. Just got a 457 American in .22 mag and wanted to compare notes. After watching this video I went and watched all your other newer ones. The groups you shot with the Tikka and the Bergara told me the story. I know you already sold the CZ and you wont want to hear this but your groups were not the CZ rifle's fault. I can see that from the groups you shot with your other newer rifles. I'm 65 years old and have been shooting since I was 8. One thing that most people don't understand is that most all of the rifles made today are a lot better than the shooters. And so is most of the ammo. Yes some ammo will shoot better in some rifles. That's only because of harmonics. Ammo manufacturing is so good these days that the only variable is velocity from one shot to another and it's not much (but it makes a difference. You're not alone. I see this all over RUclips. Mostly horrible groups. At 65 I'm a lot worse than when I was younger, mostly my eyes and concentration. I can concentrate and repeat it just right about 65-75% percent of the time now, that's it. But, early on I learned a lot from the best of the best benchrest shooters and I'll repeat, lack of consistency of the human being on the rifle is the source of most all fliers, vertical strings, open groups, etc. I have not seen any rifles in years and years now that shoot worse than 1.5 MOA. They don't exist anymore. Manufacturing is that good! That said, these days with me being a 65-75% shooter, I can see that, @ 100 yards, 1.2-1.5 MOA is the BEST I will get with my CZ457 .22 mag on a consistent basis out of 5 shot groups. But I know it's me, not the rifle. When I do my part I can get .8 MOA. LOL! When I was young I could get .8 MOA with iron sights @ 100 yards - not anymore! Shooting 5 shot group after 5 shot group is REALLY hard to do well. Every single shot made has to be made exactly the same way as the last. Rifle fit to the individual is critical as well. If it doesn't fit you right you will shoot worse than with one that does. That doesn't mean that you will shoot really well with one that fits either. Yes, if the rifle does not fit you right you will shoot worse. But then again, with that fully adjustable stock on the Bergara that notion is out the window. You seem to shoot a lot. Get to know people at your range that can shoot really well. Have them shoot your rifles. Ask for help. I always did and it paid off in spades. All the best..
There must be something wrong sir, I've never seen a cz .22 shoot that bad. I think your stock screws are either too tight or too loose. Try different torque settings while you are at the field.
yea i'll give that a shot. torque settings on stock screws is a rabbit hole i really don't want to go down. from what i've seen it doesn't really make a difference in group size just moves the POA up/down
@@coreyd1474 You are both right and wrong, normally, the tighter the screws are the higher POA and vice versa. Lots of stocks are very hold sensitive, how hard or loose your grip is makes a difference. But if the stock screws are too tight the barrel might not free float. If the screws are too loose you might get unpredictable barrel vibrations causing an uneven spread. Sorry for my English 😂 but stock screws and a free floating barrel makes a lot of difference. Given that the ammo you are using is a kind that your barrel likes. Nevertheless a bedded stock will always improve accuracy.
@@lastlogona6235 yea i'm just going to have to mess around with it. i know they're not tight enough to make it not free float i ran a dollar bill down the barrel just to verify. i THINK they're set around 30 ft/lbs but i'll have to double check and give it another shot.
your ammo is not the problem. You have a walking scope or try NOT using the bipod and use a sandbag. Those groups will tighten up IMMEDIATELY. That CZ is a friggin' tack driver.

Ok , I dont know how you shoot but here is something to try . Bracket the target with your crosshairs . Example : vertical crosshair on the left side , horizontal on the bottom. Adjust scope for bullseye . This gives you a very repeatable sight picture and takes your individual sight picture error out of the equation. Shifting sight picture accounts for most bad groups when using equipment that is capable of very good results ... the other factor wind ..... well we cant have it all can we.

Thanks for the review, I have a 455 lux in .22mag. I like the 457 a little better. My trigger only adjust weight. I'm trying to decide between the 457 varmint .22 mag and the Henry long barrel frontier.
Well I can't give a a good option on what to get unfortunately because I think I got a lemon. Not worth the price tag IMO
I use RWS subsonic and CCI Subsonics mostly.
i have seen several shoot just as poorly but overall you're right, they're usually much better. still love cz

Have patience and don't write it off too quickly...!!
i'm gonna clean it MORE since you had to take time to say stop cleaning 100 times.
Hey Corey, I’ve got 455’s and 457’s and you definitely have to do a barrel break in and sometimes do a lot of ammo testing for your particular gun.
eh barrel break in for a 22. im not buying it. MAYBE 100 rounds and a cleaning to get any burs or debris out if there is any.

Check out my vid on my T1x vs the Varmint.
will do.
Have you tried different torque settings on the action bolts? CZ rimfires tend to like em "tight". At least, that is my experience with the 5 CZ rimfires that I use!
i tried a few that people suggested but it didn't really make and difference on accuracy. changed the POI slightly thats about all.
@@coreyd1474 Ok, have you tried removing and re-installing the barrel and re-torqueing it to spec? And carefully examining for small burrs? Just tossing out some ideas that have helped solve some accuracy riddles, that might help out!

I'm shooting subsonic HP though for varmints and its accurate enough to take ear shots or between the eyes at 40m or so. The build quality is something special on these rifles. Just wish we could get the accessories you guys have in the states here in NZ! A 15MOA tactical rail would be amazing.
Glass bedding is always helpful.
yea i'll give that a shot for sure. gonna order some more ammo and get it back out.

Does that base pinch to the rail or is there a clamp?
There's a dovetail rail on the receiver it tightens down on
I have an RPR 22 and had nothing but issues with it for about 600 rounds. Tried about 20 different ammo lines and never got it under 1" at 50 even with action torque testing.
What is weight.of your rifle with your scope ? Can you get the rifle from CZ with the AMERICAN stock ? Sorry does this rifle have the match chamber ?
not sure of the weight have to check the specs on their site. no, the only one that comes with the match chamber is the MTR.

I know you were doing tests but if you are really trying to get accuracy now try torquing the action bolts. Mine were less than 10 in lbs. I torqued it to 15 IN lbs now its shooting around 1" groups at 100 with SK Red Box
i've tried different torque settings it makes zero difference. i highly doubt yours shoots that well at 100.
Season the barrel with a dry bore snake once before shooting it and after each 100 rounds for three hundred rounds. It worked wonders for my 457 American
different barrels like different cleaning methods. 100 rounds is too often IMO

Most CZ 457 rifles come with an accuracy target showing how the weapon performed at the factory. If you can't match or beat those results, then the disappointing test runs are on you. One bench shooter reported that the 457 varmint precision trainer out performs the CZ 457 varmint mtr-which to his knowledge has never won a national match
this one didn't come with any targets or performance indicator of any sort.
Does the 457 use the same magazines as the 452 and 455?
i dunno about the 452 but if it uses the same mags as the 455 then yes they're the same.
Yes
Good luck and I hope this helps.
got rid of this thing long ago but thanks for all the info!
@@cacinaz8802no secret chamber specs. Theres tons of .22 chambers and charts online with all their dimensions including CIP.

Btw... the Eley Force is designed for semi auto's so don't expect great things out of a bolt gun.
funny you say that i actually sold this and bought a t1x lol its not even funny how much better it is in every way.
Where did you get the stock bag?
long time ago midway usa had them.
You also need to clean the bore between each type of ammo and shoot 10 rounds for fouling with each type of ammo
yea i've learned that. i give it 20-25 fowling just to be safe
So the Rugger it's more accurate than this one ?
I'd take both of my rugers over this one any day
You try the sk match in the red box it shoots tight in my Cz 457

But personally, I don't see the open groups as the rifle's fault.

yea you're right. hey at least you got the idea lol
Nice attempt. If you are looking for accuracy, shoot good ammunition. Personally, I’ll use CCI SV to get on paper then switch to Lapua Center X. Ammo consistently is the only way to test your rifle. Experiments with two unknown are a waste of time and money.

Leave it fouled then those fouled groups are really good. Try to break it in more😊

Man, you kept the muzzle part out of view most of the time. That makes me a little claustrophobic.

try some eley tenex, works for me
too expensive for me LOL
Ya i would have thought that CZ would have shot better. my next 22 rifle will be a CZ. So to me uh now what?
buy a tikka t1x mtr. you won't be disappointed
your ammo is not the problem. You have a walking scope or try NOT using the bipod and use a sandbag. Those groups will tighten up IMMEDIATELY. That CZ is a friggin' tack driver.
sure many of them are, but not this one.
@@coreyd1474 : I'm not buying that for a minute. For the 15-20 I have shot or owned or watched being shot there hasn't been one, not one, with the problems you are having. I really don't believe you have a dog.

Would be cool if you made a THLR style video of a range day with the 22lr rifle setup.

Gave me . 25" groups at 50 yards.
what gave you that
I have a 457 - agree with great trigger and I love the short bolt throw. Good video - thanks. My 457 is in an MPA chassis and I am getting better accuracy than you. Try changing your torque settings for the action screws.
yea i haven't messed with that too much yet. Although i can say i'm not willing to spend 1200 on a chassis for a 450 dollar 22 LOL but hey if you can, more power to ya! Thanks for watching.
I am as well. Mines in a Manners PRS-1 and im getting very respectable accuracy from it
@@CokeMk7 i sold it and bought a tikka t1x mtr. couldn't be happier with the tikka.
@@coreyd1474 nice man, my uncle runs the Tikka and he loves it. I wanted a lightweight set up so i have the match barrel from Proof research and that might be why my groups have shrunk. I only ran the factory barrel for like 2 months and then got rid of it
@@CokeMk7 would you say the 600 for a barrel was the worth the price for accuracy gain?
This rifle have a problem,oh it,s a cz 457,i testing 6 cz 457 and thr 6 dont want grouping.
yea i think you're right. at least this one anyway.
That’s the first negative accuracy review I’ve seen on this rifle. I would love to pull the trigger on a vudoo, but they are too much money.
I was surprised too. Most people that have commented said theirs shoots like this one did. Yea have to take a loan out for a Vudu lol

Try SK rifle match
i have many times. thanks!
1" at 50 yards isn't 1 MOA.
ok.
@@coreyd1474 - Sorry if I offended you but that is a fact. 1 MOA at 50 yards is 1/2 inch. 1 MOA at 100 yards is 1 inch.
yea its been discussed about 5000 times lolololol @@irishkelly654
My 457 Lux shoots much better than that, CCI St velocity will group under 1/2" at 50. Fed GM ULTRA MATCH will do 1/4 at 50 consistently. Every 22 has a favorite food. Just have to find it.
ended up just selling it. bought a tikka t1x mtr
Had to stop watching was getting a headache, hold the camera steady for god sakes!
How do you hold the camera for your RUclips videos?
@@coreyd1474 Sorry didn't mean to come off like an ass, but it's frustrating, you have some great content, but when the camera is moving around that much it's really hard to watch. I'd get a tripod and just set it to a spot that covers the details your discussing. If you have to zoom just do it as smooth as you can. Please take it as constructive criticism.
@@hoggravyandchitlins no doubt! I actually did put it on a tripod for my last few videos LOLOLOL but I agree with you
Ok , I dont know how you shoot but here is something to try . Bracket the target with your crosshairs . Example : vertical crosshair on the left side , horizontal on the bottom. Adjust scope for bullseye . This gives you a very repeatable sight picture and takes your individual sight picture error out of the equation.
Shifting sight picture accounts for most bad groups when using equipment that is capable of very good results ... the other factor wind ..... well we cant have it all can we.

get rid of that rail and get some good rings, talley, warne etc. I have a cz 452 american and its a tack driver with cheap ammo. I bought a set of rings from pyramid air guns that works real well on my cz

You are shooting junk ammo some of the worst you can get I can shoot one hole at 50 with my cz at - one I think you are like one of my cousins you are in love with ruger and besides I don't think you are all that good of a shot and nobody builds that in a gun you need a lot more practice sorry!!!!!!.
