My wife is very petite and used to have long dark hair and big brown eyes, so I requested Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" for her over the radio, and they played it. She's loved Van Morrison ever since that day. But she was a Lepplin, A/C D/C, Deep Purple, Heart, Black Sabbath & Who fan. We saw them all, and many more live over the years. You can be pushing 80 and still rock (in a Rockin' Chair) laugh.
I found out about this lovely song from watching the first original "Bridget Jones Diary" movie, which has Van Morrison singing "Someone like you" in it, . I loved it so much I bought a cd that had "greatest hits" of Van Morrison" that has this song on it and I ended up loving the whole album (cd) as every single song was just fantastic!
The epitome of a heartfelt romantic song, perfect for a wedding. The whole Poetic Champions Compose album is wonderful - you should give it a listen all the way through. It may be my favourite VM album.
