- The co-owner of a Kansas City water park where a 10-year-old boy was killed in 2016 was arrested Monday on a variety of charges related to the incident. Jeffrey Henry, 62, was arrested on 12 counts of aggravated battery and five counts of aggravated child endangerment, an online database shows. Kansas prosecutors say that the water slide where a young boy was decapitated was completed in a hurry, all to impress TV producers for the Travel Channel show ‘Xtreme Waterparks.’ #InsideEdition

It's logical to be scare of slides and rollercoasters. People just normalize the irrational desire to ride them. If you say, "If your friends jumped off a bridge, would you jump too.", most people will obviously say no, but that logic goes out the window when it comes to these amusement park rides.

Since childhood i was terrified of big waterslides and all my friends and family kept making fun of me, as a kid, as a teen, even s an adult it never went away but somehow i was seen as a lame coward lmao. I’ve been on this ride, I live in Olathe KS and have rode it twice. When it starts you actually come off the slide for a split second! The seatbelts were also Velcro and did not work bc they were always wet. It does seem like the rushed the making of it...

I saw the episode of Xtreme Waterparks where this death trap was built. I’ve never been able to understand why, when not only did the rafts fly of the track several times and they had to redesign and rebuild it as it was deemed too dangerous, this was allowed to open to the public. It makes me so mad that only when a child died did they decided to close it.
HaileyVerge Some people like danger but thats not a reason why you should close a slide over some families decision to go down a slide where the kid was too short and the raft was too light.

@@billyshears1891 but remember 17 people already got injured, and raft with probably 100lbs flew off the side, and even the engineer said that slide needed to be rebuilt since it was deemed dangerous. So yes they should close that ride

Imagine seeing that happen to him. You’d be scarred for life. And also imagine the split second before being decapitated. What that must’ve felt like. I hope that his soul is not confused, and that he passed on peacefully.
I don't think Caleb saw it coming it had to happen so fast. But his brother who watched the whole thing...i can't imagine the trauma. Even as an adult if i saw that happen to a stranger i would not be the same ever, now imagine a little boy watching that happen to his own brother. This is truly devastating...

The only impressive thing about this ride is that none of the engineers called someone to say that the ride is not safe. That call could have saved the boy and the 14 injured.

I heard from other outlets that the reason this happened is due to not reaching the minimum weight on the raft; thus it made it airborne. As it seems, it looks more of the error on the employees who didn’t record the weight correctly of the raft that caused this tragedy.
Even the engineer said they would have to redesign the entire slide but they didn't do that

I don't think there's a comeback from this. Truly the whole family needs therapy for the rest of their lives probably. Wish them healing. But is there healing from this? Idk. Especially the little brother who watched it happen! A worker stopped the mom and told her not to go there she doesn't want to see it. But the little boy watched the whole thing..i can't imagine the horror.

i remember getting chills after hearing the news the next day. I rode the slide the day before and its an eerie thing whenever i see the bracelet that i put in my ticket collection box knowing that it could have been me or anyone else i rode with.
Two years after it opened... Since no other deaths occurred, there must have been something else wrong about that one time.

The designers and constructors of these kinds of extremely dangerous rides should be required to have PhD’s in physics and engineering and many years of experience before they build a ride like this. These people were clearly incompetent, and look at the consequences and how many people had to suffer. Not acceptable.
