My uncle put extra air-conditioned condenser like the one inside the cab/ and installed that inside the air filter box all air that goes to turbo it cool and dense more psi onthe cylinder and that it's cool more power/ hot air expend the metal and that's not good. Loose components that's why the oil in the engine just get black quick if it's cool oil motor its very clean and power to top..

Dpf is a complete scam. It doesn’t help the environment. It hurts it bc u have to idle it for 45-60 minutes get exhaust temp up to 1200 degrees. It’s also unsafe for truckers bc ur truck can basically shut down in the middle of an interstate. I’ve seen that happen numerous times. All it does is put money in the shop and parts pocket 🤬🤬🤬

@@abmtz8537 theres charts out there that show the comparison between various trucks. If you have one truck that’s a 2006 for example that gets 7 mpg, and you have a 2020 that gets 5 mpg, it could take 100 2020 trucks to equal the emissions of just one 2006 truck.
Fuel consumption doesn’t equate to pollution. You could get 1 mpg in a 2020 and 12 mpg in a 2006, and the 2020 would still pollute less.

I specialize in deletes and tunes on CAT and Cummins engines. To fully understand the delete you need to know what the emissions actually do. The EGR recirculates inert gases(Spent, burn't, nothing) to lower cylinder temps, in theory to reduce Nitrous of Oxides (pollution). The DPF catches soot before being expelled. In the DPF is NoX sensors and pressure differential sensors that measure the soot load of the cans. You still have to physically remove the DPF/DOC to have them cleaned. The SCR is the catalyst. The diesel fuel injected after the turbo through the Doser Valve chemically reacts with the DEF fluid injected into the cross over pipe between the DPF and SCR. When the engine is doing a Regen the motor acts like a fan to blow out the SCR. This system restricts the the engine like a lung breathing, the effect is: derated power, poor fuel economy and longevity of the engines life.
To quickly explain the delete process that you touched on, I'll quickly break it down for context; Cap the EGR, remove the DPF and SCR removing everything inside them. For the tuning, most tunes uploaded are based around a Cummins 570cm engine(pre emmisions). There are custom tunes out there but basically they're turning them back into 570's. That's a quick breakdown to describe it correctly.

I'd say you gave the most complete description that I've ever heard . Well done . Now as far as the video , are they actually scanning these trucks to find the delete , or is it just the obvious ones that remove the parts that are shut down ?

    Just throwing this out there,
Seen a video from a tuning company (i think was from PDI) that made twin turbo isx3 kits that were supposed to fit the emissions, the twin kit only included 1 turbo, it was non vgt, and non wastegated, but it all fit in place with the factory turbo.
The crazy part is their goal for the kit was to include a pump in 30% more power, as well better fuel economy. In order to do this with the twin kit, they needed to back the variable timing on the factory turbo by 20%.
    Truck had outstanding power,
My thoughts to anyone doing a delete, and blocking the EGR.
Since your blocking the EGR off and removing the scr, catalyst, and dpf filter. all the exhaust is going straight to the turbo so its going to pickup much faster and yes could burn the bearings out because its spinning much faster, and more rapid than the VGT's were actually designed to do.
They were built to spin up faster from less exhaust pressure,

Hi Ryan I watched most of your videos very informative and money saving tips. I have a question about a code for the EGR, the code is p1488 (EGR valve out of calibration) which is throwing other codes (p1496, p1515 and p3797) that would not let me do a forced regen to protect the engine. The question is: can the EGR be re-calibrated with software or do I have to replace it with a new one? I took the after-treatment apart and I cleaned it myself, it came out pretty good and I know that because i used J pro diagnostics (borrowed it from a friend ) and the differential pressure shows 0.54 psi on the DEF inlet pressure and 0.07 psi on the DPF outlet pressure at idle.
I will appreciate any advice keep up those good videos thank you. by the way, my truck is a 2019 Kenworth t680 with Paccar mx13

Deleting a truck properly is not an easy endeavor, there are roughly 100,000 parameters in the programing, including tables that need to be looked at and adjusted accordingly. Simply uploading a file, like 99% of these tuners do, is a recipe for disaster.

No your ecm will detect an engine faults from the egr dpf/scr system and derate your power to basically limp mode or severely reduced power . Everything must be turned off with the tune so the engine control module and aftertreatment control module will no longer be looking for those inputs from the emissions system ... in essence what your doing when you tune your engine and delete the emissions on it your taking the engine back to pre emissions operation just with all the emissions stuff appearing to be intact .
Benefit is engine will run great and work like it should with better fuel economy , more power less heat in the engine and actually breath the way it should ..
Cons of doing it is the possibility of huge fines and they start at like 25k and up from there if your caught and you will need to restore it back to factory setup and it's not cheap to do..
Because even though it appears to be intact like factory at appearance. All they need to do is look at your exhuast stack and see the black soot coming out of the pipe that didn't exist before the delete and or do an opacity test on your engine at an inspection and when the Rev it up for the snap test they will see big puffs of smoke coming out and it will fail the opacity test and then your done .. so does it work ? 100% but is it worth it if you get caught? 100% NO ... so it's a catch 22 ...
And when mechanics have to hook up to check it for engine e.c.m issues cuz you will still have sensors and stuff go bad on the motor , if the mechanic don't know it's deleted and trys to do any kind of regen or calibration update with that deleted file in the e.c.m it's gonna screw everything all up and I'f your e.c.m fails for whatever reason and you require a new one you have to have the same person that did your delete tune to redo it just so you can run your truck and most dealers and shops won't even work on your truck if they know it's been deleted .....

    @michaelwright1602 2 года назад

I am fixing one of these delete abortions right now, Cummins CM-871. What a F'ing mess, Big Tuner Shop, PDI style, stripped the motor of everything except the VG Turbo. When I removed the turbo, chunks of soot and carbon came pouring out, I have no idea how it held together, it is being replaced, along with a new actuator.
The DPF/DOC cans only had a few holes drilled in them, instead of being hollowed out, that is what destroyed the turbo, high heat from a face plugged filter.
They removed the EGR Cooler and did not install a coolant bypass kit to cool the #5 and #6 cylinders. So, need a bypass kit...
I believe I caught this in time before any more serious engine damage occured.
Then they replaced the factory water pump with a unit off of a CM-570, so I need a new water pump and housing too. Then all of the RTV (Mr Gasket) that they used on that pump. Now I have to strip down the cooling system in search of RTV boogers.
Then the high heat issues, going to have to change out the oil cooler, oil and coolant thermostats, and God knows what else. Right now I am $8000 deep into this mess, when all said and done, I think with parts, and my labor, $15,000 easily.
If only the previous owner would have simply completed an EGR Tuneup and replaced the DOC and DPF filters, none of this would have happened. There was no need to strip this motor of thousands of dollars in parts, destroy the turbo, and all of the other issues it is now facing. And I have not even gotten into the programming yet.

Is it legal to delete your truck in Ohio?

  • @michaelwright1602
    @michaelwright1602 3 года назад +42

Ninety nine percent of the deletes going around out there are butchered and hacked programs going all the way back to 2008 - 2010. They are files that have been floating around on the internet for years. Sadly, these are the same files many of these so called big name tuners use. I have seen a few of their files, not to mention that each motor is designated for the specific model truck it is in. It is the norm to see one of these engine killing files meant for say a KW, in a Volvo, pick your flavor. Sadly, these are tunes many folks pay thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars for. Normally, within a year, the motor has cooked or ate itself, in frame time. It would have been a heck of a lot cheaper to learn and maintain that emission system... Keep reading...
Then the cans, they have to be completely hollowed out. Every bit needs to be removed in the DPF/DOC and SCR. you don't, you are cooking the motor as the cans will now become face plugged and the destruction will comense. they have to be gutted, you cannot get away with drilling a few holes or making one 4 inch hole in the can. And that is a common problem with the big name and parking lot tuners, they instal a garbage program that has been recycled a hundred times over into your ECM and then tell you they hollowed out the cans, and they did not, or they tell you there is no need to do that, as it was taken care of with the programming. Don't be stupid folks...
If you have a newer truck, and you are getting fault codes and all of that nonsense associtated with these EPA trucks, why don't you figure out the systems and use proper maintenance intervals to keep these systems functioning in tip top shape?
Complete regularly scheduled EGR Tuneups, do these annually or bi-annually, depending upon miles driven and conditions. Replace the sensors, the dosers, maintain the SCR filter with regular filter changes, bake the cans and or replace when needed, etc... Install a bypass oil filtration system, Amsoil makes a universal kit you can mount on your truck. This will help keep the soot load out of the motor oil, which in time eats away at your bearings, cam(s) and lobes. And this is not an Amsoil commercial, they make the filter kit, I know many guys that do use them with great success, and you can use any oil filter that fits. Just change it out say every four months or quarterly.
And oil, use regular oil, stay away from the synthetics... And those extended oil changes? They are killing your motor! Change the oil every 8,000 to 18,000 miles, depending on how your operation is run. Always hauling mid to light weight loads, running the midwest and south, 15,000 - 18,000 miles is fine. Running the oil fields, alway at gross or in that 100,000 lb range, maybe every 8,000 miles would be a proper interval. Extended drains will kill these EPA motors, all of that soot is still there, it collects in the oil, call it liquid sandpaper. Than the additive package in the oil, in time it stops working, then you may as well be running baby oil in the motor. Change the oil on a regular and scheduled time frame. Don't buy this extended oil change BS the dealers and the engine manufacturers tell you, they love to see you in the shop, especially for things like camshafts and rollers... Easy money, and very predictable if you operate under an extended oil change interval. They know the game, as they wrote the book.
Bottom line, learn the mechanics of your truck, and quit relying on these shops and dealers who know less about your truck than you do. You run a business, start acting like an owner and take charge of the most important part of truck ownership. I have lost count of all of the guys I know that were put out of business due to their laziness and relying upon warranties and the thieves at the local dealership to properly fix their truck. Don't be that guy. Learn your equipment and how to maintain it!

@@travieso1ruvalcaba672 Totally agree, the prices for these emission parts is OUTRAGEOUS!
CARB, back in the mid 2000's, tasked a California university with testing the diesel particulates from these new emission systems in regards to health and public safety. They wanted to know exactly what was coming out of these new emission motor's exhaust.
The scientists found the DPF/DOC equipped motors were more harmful to humans, and the environment, than our previous old non-EGR equipped trucks.
They discovered the particulates, the final product of these emission motors, are now so small they go directly through clothing and skin, directly to your bloodstream. The particulates were said to be cancerous. Imagine that?
The folks doing this study recommended doing away with these emission systems for the public's health and safety until a new means to this emission issue could be found. The study was ignored.
Can you imagine how much worse it is now with these DEF/SCR systems? And of course this study was quickly scrubbed from the internet, I had the link at one time, and of course it quit working soon after my discovery.

Yep, whoever hacked your truck did not clean out the cans, all of that exhaust is building pressure as the DOC filter face plugs. The hot exhaust has nowhere to escape too, so it starts bleeding through the exhaust and turbo, and eventually destroys the turbo, and normally the CAC along with it.

The worst flywheel blowup I saw was a disgruntled driver who rolled down a hill with his truck in 3rd or 4th gear with the clutch disengaged then popped the pedal at about 50 mph thinking he would blow the engine. Wrong. The flywheel disintegrated sending a pie shaped wedge through the bellhousing and dog house then wedging itself into the bottom of the dash. Mass doesn’t like to overspeed. Guys my age will remember the OVERSPEED light on the dash. DPF delete?? YES. Diesels are engineered to breath.
