@@HSGAutomotive I know they are used but I feel that's the same situation with the tracks, if they were to be the classic tracks we used to have, it would be a matter of poliphony putting them in nations cup and such for them to be used as well. I may be wrong about nobody wanting VGT cars but I'm sure if the old tracks had the chance to be used in game they would be used by a lot of people. After all we all have different preferences, but I don't think they should not add these classic tracks because they don't fit because from a point of view also VGT cars don't fit.

I remember reading an old interview that Kazunori Yamauchi did. He said that the old tracks like Deep Forest are actually in the code for GT Sport. However, he said that porting the tracks from the older games proved tricky due to resolution and modelling. In-game models like rocks, bumps and rumble strips became massive physical barriers, and it proved too difficult to fix. He said they had to build those tracks from the ground up which was too labour intensive, and it was too late since they were already too deep in to creating the other tracks (I. e resources already spent on researching landscapes for fictional tracks). Real professional simulators and I'm not talking about hardware, are not available to the public and the vast majority of the data they use have been acquired in house by the manufacturers themselves. The so called simulators prized by sim driving hobbyists such as iRacing, Assetto Corsa and rFactor2, all of which are more realistic than Gran Turismo/Forza aren't in the same tier.

The reason is always the same: Money.
They no longer care about the fun aspect and want to be more serious because they think they can make more money. This is how franchises fall. They end up ignoring the people that made them successful in search of more success. They are trying to build a mansion with an ever deteriorating foundation. The more they invest in the framework, comfort, and attractiveness of the mansion, the more time is given for the foundation to give way and the more the mansion itself becomes a liability.

To your point of them losing touch with the fans, i can respect your point. Yes they have gone more down the route of more competitive racing online, which has taken away from the "Campaign" and fun side of GT. El Capitan (and Cathedral Rocks), Grindalwald, Amalfi, Smokey Mountain N & S, and all of the city Stages (yes, even SS 11) are great tracks that are tied to geographical locations.
I also always liked to imagine what the locations of other circuits would be, and feel like it wouldn't be to hard to officially give them ones; Trial Mountain (my personal fav since day 1) can a northern Japan toge road turned race track, Apricot Hill and Autumn Ring can be somewhere in the UK, Red Rock Valley can be either in the western US or in Australia, etc.
I feel that not including classic original tracks is less of an issue realism or geographical recognition, and more of the time and effort needed to redesign and remap older tracks to modern standards. Plus, a lot of older tracks can be seen as interchangeable with current ones; Miss the Special Stages? Well now there's Tokyo Expressway. Miss Red Rock? Well now there's Blue Moon Bay. Miss [insert track here]? Well now we have the actual track that that one was based off of.
I think GT7's original tracks (because it'd be dumb Not to have original tracks) will more than likely be ones they have more current versions of (GT6 & GTS specifically) with /maybe/ a couple of oldies for nostalgia sake. Just a thought.

It's because of the FIA's regulation on tracks. Asides from SSRX, it seems like they're leaning more into original tracks than fictional ones.
There's this one time where Kaz was interviewed and he *did* say that some of the original Tracks *are* in the game's code, but wasn't able to do it properly as porting GT6's model over to GTSPORT took a huge turn (barriers not working as barriers, physics were wonky, etc.) and having to remodel the whole track from the ground up would take a lot of time (it was when GTS was fairly new to the scene / just released).
There's a possibility that they already have the tracks ready in their studio, but are waiting to bring it out on GT7 since that game will stick closer to the traditional games from GT1-6 without these FIA regulations they have to maintain.
Speaking of original tracks, now that we have SSRX, I hope they bring in SSR5, SSR7, and SSR11 as well. Remember, if you look at SSR5's surroundings in GT6, you will see that the scenery SSR5 is *_completely unfinished._*

But hey, many of these can be geographically located, in my head canon, Grand Valley and Red Rock Valley are both in US for me, Midfield is in Japan, Apricot feels European, I can't place HSR or SSR5, though, maybe SSR5 can be put into Singapore? who knows?
Seriously, I love Apricot Hill, Grand Valley and Red Rock Valley, and Special Stage Route 5 is the best city circuit ever created, that parabolica-like first turn is pure genius!

Personally, Id be OK if Midfield didn't come back as its kinda been re-imagined as Kyoto Driving Park (if im thinking of the correct track). If they kept the main features of other tracks and adopted a real world location and re-imagined them again, id be fine with old tracks coming back in that way. Maybe add a few alternate routes to some, change the backdrop, flattened some out a bit, id be OK with that. Deep Forest and Trial Mountain in particular would have to be flattened out a bit as the way they were in GT6, they were too arcadey to be fit for e-sports.

High speed ring was my go to for testing the performance of my new cars, cars I've modified, and different tunings to see how they affected the vehicle. It was all around a phenomenal test course but I think it's rather bland as a racing course. There just isn't really many corners to give the opportunity to make risky overtakes or anything of that nature, it's just whoever has the most power.

I am a long time fan of the Gran Turismo Series and racing games in general. The polyphany originals that were in the early Gran Turismo games like Grand Valley Speedway and Deep Forest Raceway are some of my favorite tracks in the series. They are one of the big reasons why I usually fire up an older Gran Turisom game when I take a vacation from work. As to why some of the original tracks are not in the new games I think it is just a matter of the fact that the real world tracks make the game seem like more of a simulation racing game to some people and Gran Turismo was always marketed as a simulation racing series as opposed to an arcade series like Need for Speed. Sure I would like to see the orginal tracks included in the next Gran Turismo game but if Polyphony doesn't put them in the game I still have all the older Gran Turismo games in my collection and ready to play. This is why you never throw away or trade in classic video games.

From what I have been told, the circuits made by the GT team would not be in GT Sport because the FIA does not want to because GT Sport is the only set of FIA sports in a game created by Polyphone, so when they launched the next GT (I don't know if will call 7 but it is likely so because they will not waste so much time just for the subtitle) the world races and those invented by the GT team were already over. Cinseramente the Deep Forest could not put never had fun with her, the trail mountain, Apricot, mild fild, El capitan, Paris, (I prefer Paris than Madrid, the Paris track is much more challenging) all the rally tracks I have ever had existed, Tokyo, houkong, Auting Ring Grand Valley and X Route 4,5, X and 11 would be great if you go back in the next GT

I find it interesting that as FIA is adding more street circuits in real life (Baku, Singapore, and now Hanoi), that E-racing is moving out to the more pastoral tracks.
I enjoy the vibe of street tracks, even if they drive me nuts sometimes. Mirabeau down to Portier may well be the stuff of which nightmares are made, but MAN, can racing get any prettier, scenically, than the French Riviera?
I sometimes kinda geek out on roadways in general--I seem to have been born with a permanent case of wanderlust--and I find it interesting to see all the ways that they move so many vehicles, through such crowded spaces. The High Five in Dallas; the MacArthur Maze in Oakland; stuff like that. Those aren't built to race, of course, but the ebb and flow of big-city streets often gets me wondering, "If this were a race track..."
So, put me in that crazy minority that enjoyed New York, Seattle, London, Madrid, Route 5, heck, even Route 11. There's only so much rolling greenery that I can take, y'know?

My main thing is simply, in GT Sport, their is a lack of tracks in GT Sport, at least at launch. At launch, their was more fictional tracks than real ones to try and keep a balance I assume they didn't include more fictional ones. Then, for post-launch content, real tracks are a name which helps bring people back to the game. Everyone knows Le Mans, Goodwood etc., but only GT veterans know most of the fictional ones so to a proportion of the audience they mean nothing so it wouldn't bring players back.

That is one of the odd things though. There are several Original Circuits in GT Sport; they just seem to be done more in a "modern" style. The closest to one of the older courses is probably Alsace.
As for historical context of some of those older-style circuits, the Monza banking was used up through 1969. Old Sap was used by F1 in 1970, and the FIA WSC up through 1975. FIA GT ran on the Montlhery banking in 1994-95. Or heck, Daytona opened in 1959, Talladega in '69; are those really, particularly less ridiculous than Brooklands?
    *Original Circuits in GT Sport:*
    Alsace
    Dragon Trail - Gardens
    Dragon Trail - Seaside
    Maggiore
    Sainte-Croix
    Sardegna - Road Track
Two of those, Sardegna and Sainte-Croix, are done far more like a series of country roads strung together than a proper, permanent circuit, which isn't something that's been done anew for decades in the real world. I wouldn't really put Potrero de los Funes in that category at this point, so I'm looking at something like Tandil, also in Argentina, which was laid out and used in 1977-92.
And then you have 3 loops of Tokyo Shuto Expressway, which,, a high-speed, elevated freeway is pretty much stereotypical video game material going back decades, even if it does have a geographical basis.
And we know now that they can sort that part of it out, like putting Trial Mountain in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.
However, I think this is the strangest bit, making up fictional ovals.
I have a hard time believing that GT can get Indy and Daytona licensed, but not Bristol. Yet, Northern Isle from GT Sport is a knock-off of Bristol, or Winchester, or Salem, real ovals that exist and are actively used today.
Blue Moon is kind of a shrunken Pocono, but not real, and less interesting than the real oval. Also, Pocono has several infield road course options. Not to mention, I think it's highly unlikely a 2.0-mile, high-banked oval would get built now; it wasn't even built 24 years ago when they laid out California Speedway at Fontana (only 14-degree corners). Texas World Speedway was the last one like that (22-degree corners), in 1968.
Thinking about Broad Bean, If you wanted an irregular oval of a more basic type, look no further than Motegi or Darlington. Alternatively, you could look at Rockingham (UK) or video from CART in Rio. If you really wanted to go for it, go examine Sitges-Terramar or watch video from the old Trenton Speedway. And then there's the one you noted: Brooklands.
El Capitan is an Original Circuit with a serious geographical, recognizable basis, not in a city, and also doesn't have the more ridiculous, abrupt elevation changes of an Eiger or Matterhorn. Grindelwald would probably just need a whole new circuit anyway, and to really get the vibe of the place could give you the same issues as Eiger and Matterhorn.
Late to finding this channel, I know, but if they were to make more of a GT Sport 2.0, I find there to be too many logical holes and inconsistencies in the tracks that were chosen, and even made, for the first one to have a good idea of the selection criteria for another.

I agree with your FIA argument and e-sports branding but the sad thing about that argument is that the fictional circuits are more fun and provide better racing then most real world locals. The basic track designs polyphony has come up with over the years are absolutely stellar. I think it would be an amazing idea to have a polyphony designed track to be made in the real world to show people the level of track design they wield.
Lastly Deep forest raceway forever. Hands down my favorite track ever put in a game. Not to long, great flow and a real challenge to get every last tenth out of. A close 2nd and 3rd to Trial Mountain and Grand Valley speedway. These 3 tracks probably comprise 10% of all racing laps I've done in the digital world. They just never get old. GT4ever

I'm wondering if what they're going to do is keep sport as a separate series of the Gran Turismo games. They'll probably keep with the numbered games rotating original tracks and new ones, and maybe release a GT Sport 2 in the future when they get even better with simulation racing which would also add more real-life tracks, rather than their original tracks. This way they can keep fictional and realistic racing tracks a little more separated without losing the interest of certain groups

I get why they want the realistic tracks but from an e-sports perspective wouldn't they be able to create super nice new challenges for drivers with fictional tracks that IRL aren't posible? Corners like the 360° corner from cape ring or the elevation changes from Deep forest and Trail mountain. We have these fictional race cars allready like the GR.1 tomohawk, why can't the FIA verify fake tracks to add some spice into the mix. I think a lot of the community would love that. It's like the entire E-sports thing forgets we are still essentially playing a game here.
Edit: special stage route X is a fictional locationless track.
