The score in this sound track is the best. The story is gloomy and dark with redemption and may have been way ahead of its time.Clapton's talents rise above the screenplay to essentially rescue the movie. His love for the blues as you hear in concert dominates when compared to top 40 success as Cocaine, I Shot the Sheriff, etc. He just keep bending in the direction of commercial success given his track record of staying at the pinnacle, but keeps coming back to blues.
Probably some of the most haunting music Eric has ever played I saw the movie and have the cd but you really have to put the music with the movie to appreciate the impact
This is it. Bought the soundtrack the very next day after seeing the movie. Read the book too. Between me and my daughter and son, who did not see the movie with me originally, but we each had our own soundtrack. And just maybe, we each might have been listening at the same time to whichever song. Everybody's grown now, but we still talk about this soundtrack. Thank you, Eric.
Well thought-out description. I'm sure you're aware that this is a true story. I read the book a long time ago and was very surprised when they made the movie. You might want to read it because the way it ends in the movie is different that what actually happened. The author is Kim Wozniak. I can't believe I remembered the name ! Enjoy !
just listen he is pouring his heart out in this song its the blues he grew up listening to the blues that is what he is doing crying his soul out just listen to some old blues songs and then you will get it

The entire score by Clapton is the best I've ever heard. You can't help but weep during this part.
