The old intro is the best.
I made this intro a while back for fun in my spare time. Ive always liked Alex’s style/content. The amount of content he has on the channel made picking clips for the intro very easy and the only thing i had to do was make it awesome but not overboard/childish. I tried to get a little bit of everything that encompasses the channel.
Should I make an updated into for 2024?
Abso-effing-lutely.
@EGPerformance you did this. 👌 great man. The clips and the music is just perfect..if you update it. Just don't update the first clip of Jeremiah camp's car with that 2-3 shift. It is 👌
@@jdswag5436JD the Mod! Absolutely, I’ll do what I can. Tons of new content. Should be a piece of cake.
YES I WAS HAPPY FOR THE THROWBACK INTRO
As a gen 1 owner this is great content and knowledge to take in because no one else on the internet is doing research and giving real time data like this. Great job Alex.
"Why wouldn't you move here?"
Dude, I watch the Peasant Chat for a reason.
lol
Spending almost 3 decades in Foxes, I now own a 2012 GT Auto.....I anxiously await each vid of this build.
Real data with no bullshit like other places. Thanks Alex ! Oh and the weather down here is awesome this weekend. Just before it turns into swamp ass for 5 months.
Pretty much lol April is legit the best month here.
For everyone wondering about overall diameter, the 285/35/19 is essentially the same as the factory 255/40/19 (27" stock vs 26.9" drag radial). The smallest width recommended for the 285 is a 9.5", but from a tuning perspective there shouldn't be a difference, it's only a 0.4% difference
Thanks sir!! I don't just buy parts without knowing how it affects tuning
Such a clean intro, we needed that.
Gen1 baby ❤!!!!
This video seems to confirm my suspicion of the massive CAI not doing a whole bunch. I’m about to bolt on a ported Gen 3 intake on my Gen 1. If my research is correct the stock airbox should be plenty of flow to support a higher flowing intake.
What a beautifully produced, simple, data-driven video! loved it!!
Dammit Alex. I don't need a new car! But you're making me look at 2011-2014 GTs again. Auto and a Lund tune this time around though. Great videos as always, and thanks for all that you do!
I learned that cold air intakes dont do shit had 2 of them complete wast of money
OG INTRO🔥🔥🔥🔥
Excellent real world testing, keep it up
Great test Alex! Man I absolutely love the gen 1 with the Brembo pack
Very cool vid , alot of knowledge dropped. Can't wait for the suspension tuning video. How too get rid of that body flex and loss of momentum.
Alex, any chance you can do a k&n drop in filter in stock box and see how it stacks up against what you tested so far
None of that stuff is gonna do much man but it also don't cost much. You can't expect anything else. Get some real mods if you wanna see gains aka ported cj, twin 69 and pmas for cj and add l&m intake cams and headers. Yea that's a 3500 dollar setup probably but you'll gain over 100 rwhp from a bone stock car and Rev higher and make alot more power up there. Huge huge difference. Ppl will say might as well just boost it only those mods cost half or less than what a boosted setup does and sometimes na is better if you're making a corner carver. You'd be surprised how quick a properly setup na gen 1 can be you get that thing to 500 rwhp and take some weight off it will literally haul ass. You'll be gapping some boosted cars...
As others have said, keeping my stock CAI. Minimal mods until ESS releases the Gen1 kit
Thanks Alex, nice video.
I will be the first to admit that my initial thought was wrong. I would have bet good money that you would have made a 12.8 ish with higher IATs.
I am a bracket racer and adding Stange adjustable dampners got all that squat under control. Great video. Impressive MPH for absolute minimal mods.
Please do boss manifold over 18
The throwback intro💪🏼
I don’t know if anyone else is interested but a Light FBO stock cold air vs Aftermarket cold air comparison would possibly end the debate of which is better on a lightly modded engine.
You did just prove tires were worth more overall than whatever power an aftermarket cold air picks up over stock
Great video !!! Glad you’re doing a Gen 1 and seeing how mods are changing and seeing the knowledge you have! Curious on what your gonna do for the suspension seems like yours has a lot of squat definitely some potential time there
Maximum motorsports stuff as I want high quality suspension on this car
I have a stock 14. Im glad your doing this, givea me a chance to compare our upgrades my car went 12.95 with the dragy lol but it does have drag springs. No tore yet. I wont be right alng with you because i wont be able to afford it thanks to yhe good ole irs this year but still thanks alex for all u do to get us data your the man
Awesome content Alex 👍
Man those Mexican Shell stations have really nice grass!
Great to see these videos on the s197 Alex. I also used to have a 2011 (a6) I did a fbo setup on then vortech back in 2014. Car ran bottom 10's full weight with a glass top on e85. Later had a 2015 then went to a different platform. Now picked up a 2014 GT premium m6 a few weeks ago. Ordering the Lund tune today and planning to go boosted over the winter. One question, why does your gauge cluster look different then my 14? I thought the 13 and 14 were the same?
Great video. Keep the gen1 content coming.
Hi I just bought a 2013 GT mustang premium.. What are the times stock did you test yours completely stock with no tune. My problem now I have 20x10 with 275x45x20 so I know it's slowed it down off the line
Had an argument on why Gen 3 is better over the Gen 2 coyote last night. But Jesus Christ his excuses for why 2 and 1 were bad because cylinder 5,7,8 burn oil 😂. Average 5.3 fans be like.
Woah 12.6 stock shit, my 13 gt 6 speed 13.99 boss manifold light weight clutch stock tune now I want another Gen 1. This is interesting for the wife
This is some great content bicho! I know yr heading to a 2.3l, as is my 13 GT so I cant wait, but it would also be great to see you case a few rabbits along the way... like what you could get NA with a 18 manifold, then free flowing exhaust vs a good set of headers w hi flow cats. These are the choices people are faced with so I bet it would be very popular. This is a great series - keep 'em coming!
Hey Alex, what would you recommend the LRX or the RTD?
I paid $6.25 for 91 here in California yesterday.
The problem is on a crowded night with a hot air....errrrr I mean CAI the IAT's will get to 150*+ and that 100% is affecting take off torque and 60ft-1/8 mile before the ECU can adjust for the actual air temps coming in. Any real racer knows what you do in the first 60ft and 1/8th mile matters the most. No thank you to hot air intakes. Sealed TRUE CAI units like the factory air box or Steeda sealed CAI airbox is what is smart to run unless all you care about is putting a number on a chassis dyno with the hood up or do only highway rolls.
Im enjoying this gen 1 content again!
Love the og intro
Well I was about to order a pmas and tune on my stock ‘21 but I guess I’ll wait until I boost it later this year
Let me buy a gen 1 before they skyrocket in price
Awesome video! I have to live vicariously through you Alex with your 2013 Mods. I can only imagine my Mustang GT with Track Pack can do. KEEP ON ROCKING
How accurate is the 1/4 logger on the cluster options
Can we get a video about what you think of the black label that was just announced for 2024?
No
I’m paying $5.60+ for 93 in Hawaii.
Bro with my old JLT, my IAT would reach 130-140 lol when I tested it at the drag strip, it ran .4 seconds slower with a 91 tune and intake vs stock air box and 91 tune. It heat soaked like crazy.
(Gen 2 auto)
You’re just doing this for the clout. ❤🎉😂
Great production value!
*nick james calling senior* just kidding
E.t. aside, looked like the car actually gained just over 1mph in the quarter after the PMAS swap. Wouldn't that suggest about 10-12 horsepower gain?
Ish yes
Alex, You said you didn’t want to go down any rabbit holes, (and I may have missed it) but is it possible to run the PMAS intake ducting into the factory air box with a higher flow filter? A dry cotton gauze filter like an AEM or a K&N that’s not oiled (something to prevent the average person from over oiling the filter and fouling the MAF?). Is it even worthwhile to try that? Does PMAS have a better “air box” in the works?
Not interested in any of those tests.
NITTO G2 are TURASH!
Great job love the videos keep it up
Would you recommend getting a pmas? I have a 18 ported manifold and long tubes headers. I heard it’s not worth it. Suggestions?
Thanks for responding
I love this intro 👌. Good tests, lots of information 💥👍
Time to shove a foot ball in the rear springs, it'd be better than Bent Men Receiving springs anyway
Alex, can I get your input. I have LTH and a xcatted xpipe on my 12 GT. Is it possible to get the o2 and CAT monitors to set with this set up?
Don't get caught in the rain
I thought you were on a low carb diet? Weight loss challenge over, who won?
I smoked them lol
And this breakfast was under 40 carbs. I keep it to under 100/day
Bas ass video like always 👍
Great content! Double M... aka... Mustang Monkey 🐒... looking forward to see the upcoming mods...✌️
Hi
Yo
That intro was sick
eclipse run on gas. I paid just over $3 for E85 that's usually $2.60
Damn what kind of bird was that
Hey Alex, I got a 14 Gt stick w/catless lth, 93 Tune and 15inch Et St R. Ran 11.6 without passenger and rear seat and stock 19 inch front wheel with a 1.6 60ft. Wondering if I got a factory freak or nah cause I got some buddies similarly built car but stuck in 11.9 or 12.0 at same track and air. Ran 1.5 60ft but missed third gear so could've been 11.5. Everything else other than listed is stock. You think Cold air, e85 and intake will get me decently close to the 10s? Also ever since I've hit 12.0s I've never gone faster than 116mph.
Ran the same tire MT 286/35r19 on my SC 14, Lund tuned. Didn't like the shorter profile (mph/shifts) went to Nitto 275/40r15. To correct size for speed o/shifts. No comparison in traction dept. Can't beat MT for traction but I get better tread life outta the Nitto's...3500 vs over 7000 street and track use.
Unless I'm missing something, you're wasting your money on a cold air intake if your GEN1 Coyote is mostly stock? Did I understand correctly that it literally improved almost zero over the stock unit? Can't wait to find out what the PMAS data looks like after a free flowing exhaust and/or better intake manifold.
For those wondering, the tire he is talking about is a Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S. The size he chose was 285/35/19.
Gen 1 continent FTW!!!
Nice. 1mph gain is roughly 10hp. Show the ait logs for the last run. Im thinking the very second you get moving the temps are ambient.
Awesome Stuff ! Alex, will you turn on Track Apps on your GEN -1 dashboard and compare it to the Draggy with your next 1/4 mile test ? I have been trying the same things on my GEN-1. I have now installed my 18 manifold with my PMAS No Tune Required CAI. When I’m done adding upgrades, I’ll get my Lund Tune. Would like to know if the Ford Track APPs and the Draggy measure close to the same on a 1/4 run.
Noo way old intro
Hello, thank you for showing REAL data. I would like to see the same test done with just 2018 intake and PMAS cold air.
Awesome video, I would love to see a PMAS fender well intake gains. I like seeing these mods because I’m doing something similar to my 3rd gen coyote with the 10r80. But since how the 10r80 acts up with HP I’ll just keep it bolt ons til I can get the trans built for boost but my goal is max 700-750whp. I don’t trust a 10r80 with that much power 😅.
Brother I've been a fan of the s197's for forever. Just got rid of my gt500 track pack because i didn't want to downgrade the brakes, suspension and a render all the perks useless just to run a 15" drag pack on a maxed out trinity. A gt is in my near future. Already have the gen 3 motor I was gonna put in the 84, but found a voodoo for that swap
Interesting CAI test. It just confirms that my Gen1 running 12.1 on the stock Ford closed air box was just fine for my setup since I was still stock exhaust and stock intake.
Outstanding video Alex!
This is data we need to make data supported decisions when modding our cars. I know you have no interest in testing the stock CAI further, but it would be interesting to know what a hi-flow air filter replacement element (K&N or DNA dry element) in the stock CAI would do compared to a factory paper element vs a PMAS that already comes with hi-flowing air cleaner.
Thanks again for your outstanding videos!
Hot air intake
Just as I thought the CAI contributes nearly nothing over stock accept a place to start building, I need some new tires on mine big time their only 255s and 1-2 shift WOT is damn near uncontrollable, that could be due to suspension as well but that’s a whole another beast whispering to my wallet😂
I have a 14 that has similar miles to your 13 but a manual with 3.73's. FFE cai and lund tune of course. I'm excited to see what you do with your suspension because my car is about ready for some new dampening being 10 years old now with 60k on it and something a little better for the strip and still streetable is my goal
Definitely making me want one agin lol
That 12-year old suspension is probably shot! Great video and content as always Alex..🍻
Can't wait for the suspension mods, I screwed up on modifying my suspension, aka before I found your channel all those years ago, and I've been waiting for a series like this before I go and order parts to replace it. Thinking about getting all Eibach components but will wait for your videos!
This intro 🔥
Better intro. It was classy. Like the way you are walking through the results. S197’s squat a bit. I like the 2013 cobra jet spring kit.
Man memories... did yall catch that shift money 💰 keep the intrroooo
Do you still have your Dyno machine?
No she's gone
A converter and gears would really get that car moving. I know you’re going to add a blower so gears would not be wise. I noticed you finished in 3rd through the quarter, when your combo is more optimized, don’t you want to be at the top of 4th through the quarter. Can’t wait for suspension, it netted me 3-4 tenths in the quarter
Great job as always.
Finally! Like I always have said CAI on stock set ups are not worth it!
Great video, especially the old school intro.. I those were the results I was expecting for an open air.. mainly why I stuck with the stock air intake on my totally stock car..
Did you happen to notice how much the IAT dropped on the last run from the beginning of the run to the end? Kinda curious about how much effect the cooler air rushing into the filter and engine bay had on the temp reading...
Holy crap, and I was getting worked up about 3.89 here in dfw.
The reason the inlet air temps being hotter from letting the car sit didn't affect the time very much is because once you did the hit and the car is moving its sucking in new ¨colder air¨.
Love the video. I cant help but laugh at when you yelled at the radio. I tell mine to stfu everytime until I get my music going 😂😂🤣
The amount of work you do (looked like you were up early, on a Sunday) to bring us this extremely interesting and useful data. Good shit my man. One of the best videos I've seen.
You know what’s good my friend💪🏼dunkin is the way to go lol
Nice
Loved the data video! Keep it going.
Nice
Yes sir now we have great content .continue the great job .wonder why we are in 2024 and now one this before. Hands down for you .can r wait to see other videos.😅
