@@cholonight96 Gale of Darkness alone is worth the same price as all the items put together. Who ever sold you it with Gale of Darkness didn't know what they had.
I had one of those screens when I was a child. Well, it was a different brand and looked different but same idea. One thing you should have done instead of the gameboy player (although I love that you made portable games playable on a home console and then made it more or less portable) was get a battery pack. It sits in the same spot as the gameboy player and allows you to play without plugging in, which goes really well with the screen.
I love those retro consoles build with all possible accessories... When we were young, we couldn't afford because they were too expensive because they were new, now they are too expensive because they are retro :)
Juaquin De Anda fake copies work perfectly and are almost as common as real ones. And I looked too, the rating symbol is different on his, which is a common trait of bootleg cartridges that makes them easy to identify as fake copies
Can’t find one either bro. for at least a good price. when I look on offer up I NEVER find an indigo with a matching indigo controller. I literally just want one for Mario sunshine and wind Waker. I’m just not willing to spend $150 for all that yet 😭
my favorite is the game boy screen because i am obsessed with just bringing consoles wherever a outlet is, imagine you roll up to school and you got study hall and you can just play smash bros meele with your buddy or wind waker to kill some time, my second favorite is the game boy one to add even more great games to play, you add pokemon and minish cap (yes i may be obsessed with zelda) the arcade controller and the speaker i can hold off on but yea, you found a new subcriber because i love just adding a whole bunch of external mods, one of my favorite things ever
I grew up on Gamecube and that traveling screen but only things that I gotten from Gamecube and best way to find a Gamecube is by going to stores that sell retro games and consules.
This was really an expression episode. Thinking of the Game Boy player is one accessory I always wanted as a child but my parents never bought it. If it wasn't that expensive I might buy one today. I didn't even know it exists in purple though.
They're not that expensive. I got mine from Japan for about £12 - they aren't region locked. As for the disc, you're actually better off using an Action Replay to boot Gameboy Interface from an SD Memory Card. It's not only a cheaper solution, but the Gameboy Interface homebrew software is actually better than the official software in almost every single way.
Still got mine. Remember when I was a kid the white disc you put into the GC was obviously the most impoetant piece to the set, as if you did not have it it wouldnt play. Lost it one time. Finding another was a B and this was shortly after it came out.
The only necessities for anyone who owns a gamecube, is the Gameboy Player, and the Gameboy Player Disc. OH, and if you have the Digital output port (Majority of all Dol-001 consoles have that port, Dol-101 does not), Component cables, but that's even more expensive because of how rare it is, so getting HDMI adapter for the Gamecube will do just fine.
I bought those speakers for 20 euros some years ago. Also, I have a GC Controller with a freaking fan in the middle. The airstream cools your hands while playing.
I believe the plug for the speakers plugs into the first gamecube that came out and it had 2 plugs in the back for video and sound if I remember right.
I totally wish there were fat buttons on the top of the gamecube to make that screen adapter setp into an actual giant gameboy/mini arcade machine setup! When you had your hands on it a certain way it looked perfect like you were about to play lol.
Good video. I enjoyed it. I wouldnt mind having a screen like that for my gamecube if im being honest. Never seen your channel before but I am now subscribed.
Man one of my friends had the gamecube screen when I was in middle school and i was immensely jelly and nerded out when I first saw it over at his house, I had to play a game on it because it was always my dream to be able to play high quality 3d games anywhere with an outlet. I dreamed of taking it to school to play games during recess . I have an older brother too so of course he would have his own games he would want to play on our only bedroom TV so this was another reason I wanted a console with a smaller portable screen. I could just use an outlet in the corner or go to the kitchen with some headphones. I myself was a playstation kid though so I really wanted the PS2 version. But yeah it's funny to think about today but you have to remember at the time. The best portable games you could play was gameboy advance and I had that already pimped out with a halo light lighted screen and rechargeable battery pack. I was set there, but bigger 3D games would only be possible on a setup like this.
So if you had the HD component cable, the speaker situation would make more sense to you. Because the component output only does video, and you would use the standard multi out for sound only in that example. So instead of using the multi out for RCA (red white) sound, with the HD video cable, you could use those speakers instead. The strange part to me is the speakers don't have a general Aux input (headphone style) which would allow for more combinations of hooking everything up.
This whole set up is good for if you often find yourself at grandma's house, doing nothing while your mom and her mom smoke, drink coffee, gossip and cut coupons. But to be honest, you can see ideas for the switch. .... Ok the speaker system is too much LOL
Overall a pretty cool build, but you missed a very important component to building the Ultimate Nintendo GameCube; the Ethernet adapter, for network capabilities. This is mainly important for Phantasy Star Online, but it's still a good feature to have, and the adapter fits perfectly between the GameCube and the Game Boy Player.
Oh man I love GC never knew of the screen you can attach. I still got the gameboy player and disk at my Dads somewhere. I'd friggen love to have this setup soo much
I pimped mine long ago by hooking it up to a LED projector! I put aluminum foil over the windows in my basement, and turned an entire wall into a giant screen... Just so I could play the Resident Evil remake! Sure, we used the projector to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, but I was all about playing Resident Evil larger than life!
The only accessory I have out of the bunch is the Game Boy Player. If I could find the screen and the controller both for cheap and in black to match my GameCube, I'd get them.

Tbh the disc cost me $130 USD
Ps2 have that's too
You might be able to find a split adapter (kinda like an iPhone power and aux dongle) so both things can be plugged in at once.

the tension on that power cable got my anxiety escalates real quick
I read this before the video loaded, I thought “how bad could it be.” Literally three seconds into the video I had the same thought as you!
Same! Also with playing smash with the console at an angle got my heart racing
Dude that display isn’t bad at all, imagine having that bad boy in 2002!!!
The GameBoy player came out in 2003, but it would still be great
Its like having the worlds most expencive, non portable and biggest gameboy
This is the most roundabout way to get a GBA SP ive seen
You should have invested in a extension cord as well my dude. 😂
I know. 😂 TIGHT
> oh no it has been incredibly expensive
> gets almost everything boxed with everything included, even the memory card
I know right?! XD
If you get everything in box it's obviously gonna be more expensive!
