Ridiculous GameCube Accessories by Intec | Retro Rampage

- Some of the strangest and most over-the-top gaming accessories of the sixth generation came from a company known as Intec. They might not be very practical, but they sure look cool. In this video I go over some of Intec's offerings for the GameCube, as well as some of Nintendo's own uncommon GameCube attachments.

This video really blew up! I wasn't expecting it to get nearly this popular. Thanks to all of you for watching and I really hope you enjoyed it! I've got some more retro gaming stuff in the works for the near future so I hope you all look forward to it. Thanks again!
youtube keeps recommending me this video so i watched it and really liked it so i subscribed
Same here! Plus your thumbnail wasn’t overly done for clickbait. I actually learned more about the gamecube! 😂
It's great to see more people actually interested in 3rd party stuff!
Love the video bro hey do you have any videos on accessories on a Nintendo 64 since it was the last cartridge system that Nintendo had made and that GameCube wow dude it looks like a old school home stereo
I love RUclips actually recommending quality videos that I enjoy instead of the usual dumb click bait that fills my recommended section so often, keep up the good content man!
This video is like an early RUclips throwback.
No its not, not even close 😂
...is that a good thing?
RampagingRex Productions I’d say it is
@@RampagingRex yeah
I was thinking the same thing ! It’s awesome
“Perfect way to launch sonic genesis as far away as possible”
That was great thanks so much for this content
I was originally going to launch Sonic Genesis out the window but couldn't position the camera right. You can't get far enough away from that game.

Best laugh of the day, that was gold indeed
“...The ghosting here is pretty bad..”
Wouldn’t it be perfect to play Luigi’s Mansion on then?
You've got a good point!
The ghosting effect is because it's an STN type of color lcd screen, not the typical TFT screens.
🤣
I had one of these screens on my game cube and ps1. As a child I didnt always have a t.v. or stable living environment. This thing was a life saver.
This is such a sad comment
@@tgatt5759 lol I had to read it. I didn't intend for that. I really wanted to convey the mobile nature of this set up. I had the GBA adapter for my gamecube to. GBA games were so cheap used at the mall back then. These types of set ups were like a new chance at life.
“hey all, scott here”
whoops wrong channel
"just think of all the equipment that would take."
🤦
Jack Pasternak you’re not even a real Scott Wozniak fan, it’s “Hey all, Scott here”
I tried, okay?
hey guys, this is scott!
EpicMario Maker628 it’s not even “hey all...” it’s “hey y’all....”
"In theory you could have 8 Gamecubes all connected together. Think of all the equipment that would take"
*Flashbacks to when we tried to do a PS2 LAN party in college to play a 12-player match of Timesplitters 2. LOL that was about two hours of work for about 12 minutes of everyone else's attention span but that was 12 minutes of joy!
And it was AMAZING.
I remember Halo LAN parties
Ahhh those were the days
Isn’t this just another account of yours
Callmecarsonfan 11 No, this is one of my friends from college.
The GameCube is actually more powerful than the ps2. The ps2 was the weakest of the three. The problem was the small discs of the GameCube meant they couldn’t fit high resolution textures and graphics on them
Just like the generation before, the n64 was more powerful than the ps1, but couldn’t fit the high quality textures and models on the cartridges, because they didn’t have the storage capacity of the ps1’s cds.
As a PlayStation 2 fan (For that gen, PS2 first, Dreamcast second, GC a close third, and Xbox a very distant fourth) I agree, PS2 did indeed have the least amount of power other than the Dreamcast.
I agree, the ps2 for some reason struggles to run a simple game like harvest moon a wonderful life (despite it could run games like god of war but still)
@Cheems The Doggo and the problem with the Wii was the exact opposite, it could hold more data on its full size discs but wasn’t powerful enough to take advantage of the larger storage as games were just slightly better looking GameCube games since the Wii was pretty much an overclocked GameCube with motion controls
If the gamecube didn't have mini dvds, then it could have games that looked as good as gran turismo 4!
This is the most calm episode of AVGN I’ve ever watched
"Why not just go for the GBA instead?"
You should have played some GBA games on the Ultimate Gamecube.
I do have the GBA link cable so you can use the GBA as a controller... maybe in a future video.
@@RampagingRex Would look forward to
I actually had the portable battery pack thing for it as well as the flip top screen. That made road trips so much better.I only had wanted the gamecube but I think it was my Stepmom or maybe my Brother who decided to get that as an extra and at first I didn't even know what to do with it but then I was like "ohhhh I could set it up by my computer, play two games at once lol" and that's what I did until finally I learned the potential during road trips around Thanksgiving and Christmas.
privilege
@@luisbarcelo7904 Yeah, not gonna lie I had it pretty good as a kid as far as all that was concerned. I think the only thing I'd have done differently is maybe get the same setup but for the PS2 instead (maybe -- if it even existed at all). But I was happy with this all the same.
I also got the screen and battery pack, and remember playing smash bros on road trips. It was awesome, but you only had like 45 minutes of playtime iirc. I think it came with a car adapter though.
@@voteZDLR I also thought about getting the PS2 screen, but I could never find a battery pack for it, and I dont think it would be as comfortable on road trips considering you could fit the gamecube between your legs quite easily.
@@chrisrichfield8906 True, I didn't even think about that. The size of the GameCube made it more practical for traveling. I bet if there was a screen, though, there had to be a way to have portable power for the PS2. Even if it was some modified like power adapter that plugged into your car's cigarette lighter thing. But yeah I do think especially at the age I was using it it would just have been like a risk to my games and/or the console itself, cause the PS2 went through multiple revisions (even the ones that looked exactly alike) and each one had some unique thing that would fail over time, usually in the way the laser would read the disc.
I remember getting my Gamecube component cable at Gamestop a while back. The cashier had no idea what it was, so they sold it to me for $5.00.
That is the steal of the century considering what they sell for now!
SteveGames you lucky bastard
GameStop in Canada is EB Games
Check if they have more.
Then sell it for full price.
@@spsqlogan9597 quick thing worth noting though:
When you take the amount of years and the amount of peiople that have lived, you get 17 trillion years of life
and not once in any of the days in any of those years did anybody ask.
Sega 32x: Finally a worthy opponent! Our battle will be legendary!
I have that screen and have used it for road trips most of my life. Best accessory ever
Didn’t think I’d see you here
I love the old school presentation and pacing of the video, good job!
This is such a great video! Keep up the good work!

@@RampagingRex Lets see all the popular game reviewers do another battle like the one with AVGN The Critic and many more.
I remember drooling over the ads for these accessories in my game pro magazines. It was always one of those unattainable things as a kid.
This is so oddly nostalgic for me
Its like finding an old video from 10 years ago that I never saw
Thanks my dude. This really made me happy
I like your vid man, keep it up, youre a deff up and comer, good production and personality. Makes me happy to find channels ive never heard of now days.
All your missing is GBA link cable and 3 wave bird controllers
I really need to get a Wavebird. I don't even have one!
We used to play Four Swords with four GBA's. lmao, good times...

I am very familiar with Intec. I help run a small independent chain of game stores and back in the early 2000's we would order palettes full of Intec accessories almost monthly. We sold those cheap controllers and other oddball items hand over fist for years. It was a big reason we were so profitable in our early years. Sadly as they started declining so did the quality of the product (even more than it already was if you can believe it). Before we knew it they were gone, but we already had stopped carrying their products by time that happened. I remember selling those portable screens but I don't recall those speakers. I'm rather fascinated by them now and kind of want them just because of how absurd they look. 🤣
This makes me so happy for some reason. I remember hearing about these accessories as a kid and wanting to get them to play on road trips-never did get them, though.
Dude this was awesome. You had me at the intro.
Totally useless but damn it making the gamecube look like a boombox is cool!
Same thoughts, I'd give anything to have that set up now
Intec asked the question no one thought to ever ask: what if the GameCube had super-armor??
“...the least practical setup I have ever seen...”
Some great lines in this video, very entertaining, thanks dude! Subscribed.
I remember that flip monitor for the GameCube! It was actually the first and only one i ever saw, but i was in the young marines and another kid in a separate group brought it with him and was playing it outdoors via a extention cable to one of the cabins (we had no tv monitors) so it came in handy for them. It was the last night and there was a huge group probably playing smash.
I didn't join in because i was too busy crying to go home after not being picked up and having to stay another night in a spider invested tent. My mom somehow thought i was having fun and wanted to stay a extra night. The good old days.
That moment when RUclips recommends something you will *actually* *watch*
This was a great video, I’m in!
I would kill for a portable GameCube now.

Have you got modern android phone ? The dolphin emulator can play gamecube at high frame rates and with solid emulation.
@@mintynuggets that is debatable, some games really don't like being emulated at all, a lot of cutscenes still don't work for me even on the pc build, also you have to use touchscreen or whatever shitty bluetooth controller you can find, also a proper portable is just more fun (and probably much more ergonomic)
@@refraggedbean well you see there's really no one mass producing portable GameCubes/Wiis as they are just individual hobbyist making them and they tend to ask for a lot of money because of the work they have to do on them . I understand where your coming from with the shotty cutscene emulation but controllers aren't really a problem as there are a ton of really good android controllers out there including the ds4/ Xbox one pad and the pro controller .
@@mintynuggets as much as I like the pro controller, it SUCKS for android, it didn't like working with really anything for me, though its really good on PC and obviously on the switch, also imo the bluetooth capable xbox one controllers kinda suck, the rubber used for the buttons feels really weird compared to the ones used on the non bluetooth ones (which are the ones it launched with) or really any other first party controller from other companies, but that's a personal problem with it (and also I kinda just don't like the playstation layout), though 8bitdo makes some good quality controllers that work well, but they also tend to prefer the PS layout
I love how you still appreciate F-Zero GX music for your BGM, nice content bro keep it up
Holy hell, I actually remember Hip Gear. Getting memories of my old neighbor’s house. He always had the newest consoles and miscellaneous add-ons.
And wow, that clip of that Sonic game with the street snowboarding, that song. He loved that game lol. Times were better then, for sure.
Such a pleasant video. Thanks for this.
The nostalgic overload I get from seeing all of these GameCube accessories I have always seen at KMart's, Wal-Mart's, and Target's gaming section in early through mid 2000s as just awesome. Thank you for purchasing these items and showing us this monster of a GameCube! Though I am curious about one thing:
That Subwoofer for the GameCube... was that a tease to a possible future video of the BEAST GameCube?!
AHHHH xD I'd be so cool to see that one! You did a great job, and you earned my subscription!
Nice video dude, really solid production quality and I can tell you put a lot of work into it. Keep making videos!
Its been a long time since I've watched a video and thoroughly enjoyed it enough to make a comment, but honestly man this was great video informative as well as a great sense of humor keep it up my dude
That ending gave me a good chuckle Lol. Sick video.
Ok this was honestly an incredible video. Great editing and writing. You just earned a subscriber. Keep up the good work dude!
I think I saw someone who was playing on that screen attachment while I was on a rode trip a very lone time ago lol, great vid!
I thought this video was uploaded mid 2012 ish but i was surprised at the date it was posted, it really took me back to the time that youtube is still great 😊
I remember waiting at Walmart till midnight to get my GameCube. Loved the system. Rogue squadron. Was so stoked. Great video.
"All my friends in elementary school had the Gamecube"
Me: oof, I'm old
I'll need to choose my words more carefully next time.
All my friends in college had a GameCube, while I was the proud owner of the only Dreamcast they ever saw out of a store!!
Yeah...I’m kinda seasoned too lol!
Me: pong that had 2 controllers actually attached to the console. To the RF bw tv. I think we're both old:)
I was 14 when gamecube came out, lol.
All my friends in elementary school had the Xbox 360 :)
Oh finally RUclips recommended me an awesome video to watch. Definitely will stay tuned for the PlayStation accessories!
So I'm just finding your channel with this video. I love retro gaming quirks and am looking forward to voraciously combing through your library of vids! You've got a Sub in me.
Glad I found this channel love it!
Who else thought the thumbnail was a humongous gamecube setup on the floor at first glance? 😂
Holy Crap! I used to work at Blockbuster I remember selling all that Intec stuff but DAMN! I need those speakers, all those wires and the shear audacity of it even existing is THE most 2002 tangible object I've ever seen! I revel in its glory.
New subscriber! Really good video man! Keep it up!!
I had a broadband adapter. Got my friend one for Christmas too. I thought I'd use it for Warp Pipe to play Double Dash online but I never did. My fellow Gamestop employees played Phantasy Star as well.
Also, I got my component cables from Nintendo's web site for peanuts.
This made me geek out over the GameCube. I loved the GameCube when I was a kid I remember waking up every morning and playing paper Mario the thousand year door and timespliters 2 future perfect. Such great games and great times those were
Loved the added commentary!
i just found this channel, and i officially love it. Subscribed and notification bell!
Brilliant video, id love to see a similar one on Intec's PS2 offerings
I do plan to make one, but the hard part is finding the PS2 accessories since they're pretty obscure. It might take me a while but I'll do more gaming videos in the meantime.
THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM !!!
Love this video man definitely subscribing and hitting the bell
great video! and good onscreen persona and charisma. looking forward to more videos!
Thank you! GameCube accessories are almost never spoken about
Sometime RUclips recommends me good content, this was one of those time's. Great video subbed.
Loved the video man! The GameCube was the second console I owned! I had the silver one, and s have it today! At one point, I had that Intec Ps2 lcd screen. That's so funny that you brought that up. Unfortunately I didn't have the power supply for it, so I got rid of it. Looking back, I wish I didn't!
Didn't even know about the speakers. Great video!
I had that screen for a good few years and played my gamecube on it a lot. Even when I was at home since it was convenient. All I had to do was hook up power and I was playing. It also got me through quite a few road trips. I'd sit in the back of the van and put a seat down using it as a table. It finally died on me after years of abuse due to the cfl lights in the back breaking from the falls.
Having a RUclips channel is awesome. You can make it the main reason for buying stuff you don't need for your consoles, but it feels so good...lol
Love the vid! New sub and keep em coming man!
New to the channel, and gotta say, appreciate the AVGN style of video production, good work 👍
Is this Scott the Woz's son!? Great work dude, I love your vids.
Thanks, this was intended to be my own version of Scott's video style. If you look at my other Retro Rampage videos, I do more of my own thing there.

AIexGoneCrazy I totally agree the GameCube is the best it’s my absolute favorite
This gave me a good laugh .. cheers bud!
Awesome vid man. Keep it up 👍
So intec actually got sued over the original Xbox screen they produced if I remember correctly. Some of these horrible screens for the original Xbox won't allow you to playback dvds on the console even with the DVD remote or modded remote
I actually had one of these screens when I was younger, and I kept my PS2 connected to the extra AVin.
Those Xbox screens also came in multiple sizes. Physically, they were the exact same build, but you had to pay $50 extra for every screen size increase.
I am your new subscriber, and this is the first video of yours that I've watched ^^
Big hug from Brazil also O/
This was great man.
Intec really did put out a lot of awesome and crazy accessories.
bruuh, I had those speakers in black and was playing SA2 back in the day. I thought I was a god.
Idk y but even in this day of age these kind of videos r still good it proves u don't have to go over bored to make good video
I remember wanting that screen attachment so bad as a kid haha. Great video
4:20 It is 100% safe. The outer metal is just ground. So basically the Equivalent of any metal part on the consol or other electronics. And it is 12V DC anyway. You can't hurt anybody with that even if you want to
I have all of that still. The lcd was a crap shoot. After a couple weeks of use the pixels started burning out because it had a high power draw and overheated. Also no warranty included so I was screwed. The speakers lasted me a long time even through college a couple years ago. I would blast this with an audio booster in-line with the system.
That sound/screen system was so good for it's time, not all kids had TV's in their room and that setup was all you needed, we would all be hunched over the same screen in a bunk bed lol
I had one of those Intec Screens, loved it.
Awesome! Now all you need is 4 Indigo Wavebird Controllers to make the real ultimate GameCube
And maybe an SD media launcher!
God I had the sound system for my gamecube, in the purple, also hooked up the original nes, snes, and n64 to it as well, those were the days
i had the small lcd screen back in the days. i was in boarding school and had no TV, and you couldnt bring a crt tv to your room since they were huge (and forbidden, ofc). I still dont know i could play on a so tiny and bad screen, BUT i was happy to be able to play. I played a lot Phantasy star Offline to level up my character, and Sonic adventure 2. It was a true blessing by its time. Thanks for the video, and for the memories!
I really wanted one of those LCD screens for the GameCube, I'd still like one, I've heard there are some with a better quality picture, but these are so hard to find for a good price.
I love how insane these setups look, the PS2 one looks pretty crazy. I think you could make a fort with some gaming console accessories out there. lol
That Gamecube looks like a goddamn super computer.
