DS1 and DS2 (DualShock) are for the most part identical. The only difference is the DS2 has analog face buttons. I use a DS2 on my PS1 and you can use DS1 on PS2 for a lot of games. A ps2 to ps4 controller adapter should work with both DS1 and DS2
The PlayStation 2 to Playstation 4 adapter will work with an original PlayStation one controller. The PlayStation 2 and Playstation 1 controllers are the exact same controller you can use a PS1 controller on a PS2 and you can use a PS2 controller on a PS1. The PS2 used the exact same DualShock design as the PS1. I have spent a lot of time refurbishing controllers from both systems they are identical.
My school had these PsOnes with the lcd screens, there was a bunch of educational games they had that we could play. I think my 1st grade class was the last one to use it (2006-07 school year).
Back in the ps2 days you can plugin a ps1 controller into a ps2 and it will work the connections are the same so if the ps2 to ps4 works then the smae adapter will work with ps1

I remember getting a screen kit for £100 from dixons in Middlesbrough (little something the UK fans!) which included screen, 2 mini controllers (almost square, about 12cm wide) a carry case & the best thing...... a rechargeable battery pack! It felt so amazing to have a portable home console.... Well for the 1 hour it would last lol

It blows my mind the fact that people actually bought all of this back in the day, like why? Especially for the wii, there is a number of crazy accessories and people bought them for some reason. It's quite simple. The majority of our viewers are US based, and we find other countries from around the world find it easier to convert from USD, so they know roughly how much the products we feature costs. It would be hard for let's say, Canadians, Australians or South Americans to know how much £65 would be in their currency, but would most likely know what $80 USD is.

I don't understand just why that analog controller wouldn't work with normal games. You've got all of the buttons mapped, just have a setting so the left and right sticks work as the control sticks on a normal controller. It would even make it much more useful since those buttons in the middle look like they'd be perfect for fighting games. Yeah, it would be pretty impractical, but do you know how many people would try something like that just to say that they can? There's a person who played and beat Soul Caliber using the Dreamcast fishing controller, for crying out loud!
