- In today's reaction video, I react to @Floor Jansen 's live version of "Strong" which was a song written for her mom, and her struggle with rheumatoid arthritis, a sever disorder that is extremely painful. Floor Jansen preformed this at her live concert in Amsterdam. I first seen Emma Hester's preform this song for Floor, and the cast of Beste Zangers, a Dutch television show. Seeing as Floor is Dutch, it seems illegal for them to have not invited Floor Jansen on the show!!! As a mother myself, even though we have bad days, a mother's job never stops while she's alive. This sing also reminds me of my own mother so much so that I dedicate this reaction to her! Mom...This one is for you.

I totaly agree with you Jen. This Marth the 19th is the past away day of my dad ,my everything . Hé learn me everything about life ,nature,animals,history, roots etc etc.And i notice that what i learn from him ,when hé past away, and that now 3 years ago.
It hits me deep when I see Floor cry, even tears of joy. She is such a sweet person, on top of the best I have ever heard.
USA says, we have the most important man in the world. But the rest of the world says we have the most important woman in the world, which her we can cry, laugh, dance and listen to her when we need to. The world has Floor Jansen and we are grateful for that..........
I don't what is more moving....Floor singing, with so much emotion, those lyrics that she wrote explaining how she feels....or your reaction to it and how you compare and contrast it with the things that have happened in your life with your family....I hope your mother gets to see this video....

When she cries (as she often does when singing this song), rather than thinking, "we don't want Floor to cry', instead, I think that she wrote and still performs the song for its cathartic power. And we share in that. Not many singers can make us feel so emotionally attached to what they are singing, in fact, I think that Floor is exceptional in that regard. And this song expresses that quality in its rawest form.
I get chills every time I hear strong and mama and I do cry like a big baby every time I listen to them boy I cry when I see floor cries in the video beste zangers

I actually teared up on this song for what it represents and thanks Jen to provide more context to it. My wife has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid, Athriritis two years ago she lost her dad, and 11 months later her beautiful angel mom. Floor just has a soothing effect on all who listen to her no matter the genre. She just oozes an aura of real warmth and sincerity
I heard her do this song live while her parents were in the audience. Imagine, such an emotional song, and the person who it is about, being your own mother, is actually there. Really amazing!

Unbelievable moving song and so much emotion in her presentation.
I saw her show two years ago, just before Covid kicked in and she did this one too.
She almost broke, but the better part of the audience that I could see through my teared eyes broke with her.

I lost my dad 4 years ago and my mon 3 years ago, surely the toughest days of my life to, my mom was suffering with cancer, and also struggled a lot of her life with stuff, but she was strong and managed to get past it, well not the cancer, so yes can very well relate this song to my mom as well.. my Dad was a part of my everday life most of my life, so that was hard to loose to, and it did hit double hard, as i really didnt expect to loose my dad at this time, but at same time knew that my mom would die soon..

I admire and respect you for always being so open and honest about your life.
Yes, music is also a healing factor for me. At the moment my health isn't that good. After surgery a lot of complications and pain on a daily basis. So I listen to a lot of Nightwish (Floor) and BTS music. It is my daily positive medication.

OMG, I saw it another day and it made me cry. :-( I'm so sorry for your loss. I've lost my mother some years ago and it still hurts. :-( One tiny detail about this performance. Some people are not sure these days: is it live? How can you be that good live? But hear Floor when she sings "pain". There's a little "puff" sound, which you ALWAYS correct in the studio. So I'm 100% sure that she sings live, with no autotune, etc. Just small things, that might be imperfect, that have nothing to do with her voice, just because microphones are not perfect - these small things show you that she's 100% live. True. Honest. That's something I adore. Maybe even more than her amazing voice and talent.
Have you seen Phil from wings of Pegasus use vocal software to analyze her vocals from wakken gls? He found the reverb everyone uses at live shows...and that was it. No auto tune, no pitch correction at all.some reactors I've seen say it can't be truly liveshes too perfect in her pitch. He did find tiny sharp and flat bits but tiny and not something the ear can really hear. Cool video to check out.
There's definitely no autotune or pitch correction going on. After listening to Fil on Wings of Pegasus channel discuss autotune, it's actually not that hard to pick up. Floor doesn't use pitch correction ever. She doesn't need to.

Watch Wings of Pegasus. The guy analysis singers scientifically and can accurately assess if a singer is using g autotune. He was blown away by Floor’s capabilities which we all know and enjoy

..her mother is reuma patient.. pain in her joints all the time from quite a young age.. Floor tells in Beste Zangers that when she was a child her mom had reuma, and hen hid her pain to make Floor and Irene not to worry..
