Good one, Ed! I’ve been thinking about an outside rack for a long time. Yours answers quite a few of the questions I had about something like this.

Love all the safety features and the simple winch. Thank You!

Only thing I would do is put a small outside lip on the boards for the jack to prevent a wheel from accidently falling off. Otherwise GREAT !!!! Just saw this video and am going to make me one for sure !

Well spoken, well edited sharing of an excellent realization of a practical idea. But I am baffled that you didn't pull a tractor up and show your genius product in action.

Love the design and the overall safety additions that you added in case of failure of the hinges. Thank you for sharing your design and use of the ramp. Great idea.

Reminds me of a co worker that had something similar made of railroad ties and built into a bank on his farm. Was strong enough for cars pickup trucks and small tractors . Used it for oil change and muffler repair and such . I miss having that available, now I have to do it at home in the garage or driveway. Great idea for those guys who are always tinkering around with lawn equipment and easy to customize to your own needs.

Yeah, this is not for the person that occasionally needs to repair his mower or small tractor. This is for the person that has a constant tractor / mower job. Thanks for watching.

Nice project and video :o) For my purposes, I just keep a come-along hung from the tree limb that's next to my garage. Can simply lift up the whole front or rear end of the tractor. Can even lift the tractor in a near vertical position for getting full access to the mower deck.

Sounds a bit dangerous. Keep Safe.

Whats a bit dangerous about a tree limb that's strong enough to lift 1 ton, a come-along that's rated for 2 ton, and simply lifting the front end or rear end of a small lawn tractor?

I built a stand for my fiber glass camper that slips on an off my pick up truck. Built out of 4 x 4’ and 2 x 4’ it’s about waist high and keeps my camper top off the ground. It’s easy for the wife an I to remove and reinstall without so much bending. After I built it I used post hole digger to sink 4 x 4 into the ground about one ft. So the wind wouldn’t blow it away.

Very nice rack. Thought about buying a lift table, but that hinders getting underneath. I use a tractor lift jack now. But kinda sketchy at times. Plus the rack would be a lot cheaper than a lift table. Thank you for sharing. Great video.

I'd Like to build a ramp. But in a larger perspective for vehicles. The telephone poles I've got can work nicely. Bracing everything with steel and concrete.

I've seen some ramps like what you describe. They were pretty common back in the 1960s & 70s. Sounds like you've got it all worked out.
