No it was Reagan, he deregulated the airline also saying to the workers go back to work or your out of a job, he also gave huge tax cuts ( american peoples money) for the auto industry to pack up shop and move over seas like Detriot and Flint my aunts and uncles worked at. So you should feel good the American people flipped the bill so they can abandon the USA for cheap foreign labor makes you feel good don't it? But let's hear your BS defending the 40 people on the boards of directors who decided that.

It was actually Carter that deregulated trucking. You also failed to mention how much Yellow employees gave back to the company over the past 20 years. They took a 15% pay cut, gave back a week of vacation and the company only paid 25% of their pension. Other wise on point thank you for putting it out there.

I was in the LTL industry for a long time. This is all hearsay, but I remember the talk about YRC's 2009 bailout was partially because they were "too big to fail." I heard that supposedly all the other LTL companies together couldn't handle YRC's massive volume were they to go out of business back then. Hearing that they were only delivering 7% of the nation's freight in 2023 is quite mind blowing.

Part of the reason there are so few union trucking companies is yellow bought them and run them broke. Prestoion,Holland,Redway,Dugan,Roadway,Newpen one in Canada I do not know the name of and 2 in NY state. I think one was javec and was a 220 million trucking Co out of business in 7 years and the other was 150 ish million dollar companie flat broke in 2 yrs. Only good thing about yellow going out is they can not screw any more good people.
