I just watched her movie, Homeless to Harvard. Wow, what a story! Having recently read "Hillbilly Effigy", I couldn't help but compare the lives of two people who overcame similar horrible childhoods - except JD Vance still had a loving half-sister and an encouraging grandm;other where Liz had none. Stories like this help us put our own lives in perspective - and force us to examine ourselves.

I just saw the movie. O my... I cried..a lot! and then...I just saw her name right after I saw the movie. I was amazed and just clicked on it. Nice to her here! Liz...you are amazing human being. I still believe that....LOVE, is shaping us for the rest of our life. Her mom's love has a mark on her life!

One thing that I felt reading breaking night, her parents acceptance, love etc. seemed like a reflection of Liz herself... the way she would stay up to make sure they were back at night, the concern that she had for her parents, it was amazing.
And SHE never ever rejected them or gave up on them. She was always like "Just stay with me I'll take care of you... mom ... dad... stay with me and I'll listen to your problems, I'll soothe your fears... at a very tender age she took responsibility for herself and her family.
Arthur was absolutely right. I don't think Liz really understands how remarkable she is herself. No one can help warming up to her. I feel comforted just listening to her.
Its a very high bar you've set Liz.
My takeaway are the 3 traits that add up to resilence
    1. Acceptance of what is.
    2. Clear your mind as to what you can actually can control and then have the flexibility (to respond to the situation )
    3. Have gratitude for what you have. (Slow down and love harder 🥰).

Her life story of extreme struggles was heart rending. Yet like a modern real life Cinderella, she with assistances from various fairy godmothers and godfathers that managed to help her as she desperatedly tried to crawl out from the abyss. And the sweetness of the happy ending when she was able to win the New York Times essay contest that provided her with scholarship to attend Harvard and made her famous overnight. Incredible real life story against tremendous odds!

I never heard of her blaming her parents of what she'd been through. she's really a good daughter and I conclude, successful people focus on getting out in a bad situation instead of blaming and bearing grudges.

All the people usually ask her the same question "Where did you get your food from? " Always obssesed with stuffing themselves never asking the relevant qestions "where did you shower protect yourself from predators avoid suffering from the cold washng your laundry " She told many times how she got her food but never the rest i really need to know . Glad she is a victory now by the way... THE COLD HOW DID SHE DO?

The train she slept on the train or in indoor hallways! I think back then it wasn’t easier but more places to sleep while homeless as for today a person can’t use a public restroom unless they are buying something! She couch surfed until she couldn’t and slept on the trains

I'm definitely gona purchase her book, it's worth a keepsake.
I've watched her movie yesterday and after that I've beenreading about her and listening to her interviews. This interview is the 1st one where I saw her getting emotional a couple of times. And this is her latest interview I've watched. I don't know why. Is she finding it any way closer to her past because of pandemic?
