I've been working with my therapist on brain spotting for the past 5 years and my life has turned around tremendously I was drinking everyday having serval anxiety attacks suffering from depression and became unable to work for over a year after working on brain spotting and integrating trauma I'm working as a regular background actor maintaining a steady job dont worry about drinking everyday and no longer having anxiety attacks I really wish brain spotting was more mainstream and available to everyone with a traumatic past or experience

My wife has literally tried everything for her assault traumas. She found a brain spotting therapist only recently who also does Trauma Release Experience and it seriously changed her life. She is a pro at somatic experience and knowing herself after so much personal work, but this got to the core of her deep-seated terror and helped her realise the extent of the fear and rage she was still holding in the body after so much work. She uses it on herself now also. Absolutely amazing!! Only 5 wks ago she started and she is released from so much.

Thank you for your reflections Tom. I’m so pleased that your wife has had such a wonderful healing experience with Brainspotting. As a BSP trainer and psychologist I have the immense privilege of seeing such shifts in so many clients. Your sharing of your wife’s experience will be helpful to others seeking deep and natural healing. My gratitude.

Today I had my first brainspotting session. During this session I didn't have much to say. Some memories, thoughts, sad, angry, scared, confused. I chose to start with my childhood neglect and being separated from caregivers and I kept putting my thumb to my chin and holding my hand out palm sideways and wiggling my fingers. I didn't remember what it meant so I looked it up and it's a variation of the sign for mother. My pre verbal brain knows that sign.

This helped me so much and I’ve only had it twice but it stoped a huge flood of traumatic memories that were dissociated in amnesia from my childhood. I was a mess and two sessions of brainspotting was life saving even though I had no idea what it was. It’s a game changer .

Seeing others experiences makes me so excited. I was affected heavily by the Nashville tornado a year ago. I was upstairs (as well as my family) when the tornado went over our house in the middle of the night. The roof was ripped off and we barely escaped. Ever since then, I have been petrified of severe weather. I’m hoping brainspotting can change me.

I define the duel attunement frame and the therapists attunement to the client enhancing the clients attunement to themselves; i.e. what do you notice in your body after that sigh?

Thanks for your enquiry. I’m often late to respond- apologies. Brainspotting is a process and on the journey things will come up as necessary. You are doing well to focus into these sensations and to notice them. I’m sure your therapist will guide you further but these feelings are not abnormal as the system heals in it’s own way.

@The UPsychle I would like to try this. I am addicted to valium and am detoxing with the help of my psychiatrist on the nhs. I do not have the money for a brain spotting therapist, but am sick of living a bullshit life where I cannot identify let alone process my trauma, I can identify some. I would like to do this work alone as I want to be free of the barriers of lack of money or human support preventing me accessing the ability to process my emotions so I can start living instead of existing with fear or over-excitement as the only life force. Can anyone point me in the right direction so I can start living. Thanks

Google a brain spotting or emdr therapist near you. It costs money but if you can find some to pay for it, I’m sure you will find some relief and your life will improve.... I wish you hope and love.... you will find peace and freedom as you desire it... take care x
