go and become a regular at said bars, you dont necessarily have to be a drunk and get shitfaced every tike, you sont even have to drink, grab food or something. So the staff gets to know you and propose ro the owner/manager to let you dj a night or couple nights fir no charge "freejay" no bar owners will refuse to get a free dj, then after a couple of weeks when the numbers on your night are going up, then have a meeting to get laid
After a ton of practising, go about and hang out at your favorite bar or club where they play the music you like and slowly let them recognize you as someone whos digging their music and always there supporting the place with good energy, introduce yourself as a dj who plays similar tunes and ask them if you could play one time. Most places will say yes actually since there is a shortage of dj's pretty much everywhere. Ofcourse building connections with other local djs is important and having a social media page with some contacts, photos and samples help but is not necessary. I personally dont have an offial page but its because im not really doing it to get up there and rock a crowd of hundreds of people, i like to play at an intimate private party or a small bar by the beach but that's just me.
@@doctormasterdevil i agree with not asking for money, i played several gigs for years and never asked for money or even got paid. Its important to establish yourself as someone whos passionate about djing at first and it will definitely pay off later but its essential to have good crowd Reading and technical skills but most importantly is having a basic fundamental of when and what to play a track and this takes years of experience.
Hey, loved ur video and thank u for this crossfader. I want to become a dj because i was inspired by another dj and i want to make music that will talk to the audience as music talks to me.
It's all about the art. Love it. I already love djing but it's too expensive 10 years ago. I can't afford it. But I already bought one 3days ago . And I'm happy ❤❤❤❤
Thank you Sir, that has almost corresponded with the actions i have taken up intuitively up until the "grinding" part. However, have done it IRL, on e-sports too, now its DJ'ing time! lul, Thnx a lot & gl next!
I've always wanted to learn how to mix music because of my love for Trance/house music. I love listening to djs live, but always wanted to do it myself for the satisfaction of those perfect mixes loo
Golden nugget of this vid: Library needs to be good quality HD level files. So no youtube stuff unless it is HD and yours ofcourse I wonder about the rights. You can play music for money and not buy any copy rights?
I also started with vinyl. If i use audacity to convert my vinyl to mp3, will they sound the same? I have way to many vinyl and some I can't even find online
How can I find a way to play ONLY EDM at weddings, school events, and parties that I find appropiate without having to attend clubs, nightclubs, and parties that I may find a little inappropiate?
I'm someone who produces music (4 years of FL studio already) but has never used a dj controller before. Would you say it would be easier for me to get the hang of it than someone who wasn't already a producer? Or is it just like learning a new skill for every person?
I suppose you’ll be better off as you know the bpm when the breaks are and what’s to come in The song every producer knows a song is written in 4-32 bars
Maaan it was really hard to concentrate on what you were saying cause of the immaculate cleanness of the pictures you show. Looks like a sci fi movie haha Great video, although i rather came here for expension/marketing/networking advice, if you have any!
Best controller to start would be the DDJ-400 I'd say. Don't overreact with the DDJ-1000. You'll get thrown away in its ocean of functions. It is way easier to get the DDJ-400 and move on to the 1000 when you are more experienced.
You should NEVER rip songs from RUclips! Just subscribe to a record pool like BPM Supreme or DJCity. If there are still certain songs you cant get there buy them on Beatport, iTunes oder GooglePlay Music. Hope I helped you with my advise.
i want to buy good controller in low price. I can give max 550$ but this is really space price for me so i have to look for used previously controller(secondhand). I am beedrom dj and i want to buy better controller than I have now. This is really important this for me because i will be use it for a long time from purchase.
@ASH k I just had some questions about being a DJ that I thought this video would help answer, it did not. I am an American age 20, in somewhere in California.
@ASH k I have already started fulfilling my purpose, however, I require three more pieces before my destiny arrives so that I may fulfill my destiny and an old prophecy at once.
A Dj from my city rips songs from youtube beacause it's free and when I listen him playing at the club there's just no difference between him and others that have "higher quality" music.
Hey this is techno vixen. I'm very upset that my mom will not allow me to have a career in techno music that's considered racist I'm black too I don't always listen to RnB it's so annoying

I have the same question.
you can digitalise your vinyl records with rekordbox
@@Fahd5499 I didn't know that. Is it like audacity?
i didnt even know it works with audacity, but its a viable way with rekordbox, just try it.
@@Fahd5499 thank you. I will try it.

Hello Crossfader! Which controller is great to start djing? I whant to get ddj-1000, what you recomend about this one?

and can I send you my set and check if it is good?
Hi Can you recomend ddj sx in 2018? I havent got lots od Money so if i want buy this controler i have to look for used previosly
You can get an SX2 on close out for $800 USD. Great option for brand new. If you can't get a DDJ 1000 I'd recommend the SX/2/3.
@@patrykb9091 I havent got enought Money :/
What do you think about Numark NV2 vs DDJ SX ?
Dejwid Masakrator SX all the way the NV is very plasticky and cheap in my opinion. The SX is a lot better choice
