That was a really great interview. It's so refreshing to hear an interviewer actually listen to what's being said and create a conversation rather than just going "aha, yep, next question". Top marks Phil. Also top marks for James for being a likeable, down to earth guy that doesn't seem likely to disappear up his own arse any time soon.
Good to see James sitting with you Phil. James has a unique style of mixing layering and creativity spinning tracks, on 4 decks not just two or three. His energetic presence is off the hook. I look forward to hearing him spin twice a week.
id say James hype is perhaps the most relatable to my situation. Trying to make the leap from open format to House/dance music. But being a full time dj( 6+ gigs weekly) that pay GREAT. the idea of stepping away from it ALL and just going for it with bills, car , lifestyle etc is nerve racking lol. decisions...decisions..

@dj EA pro I once tried it and something kept occuring in my mind that I will give up DJing if I break my Cue Button. My equipment is just 2months old😅
Mad respect James, How much money did it cost you to get to that next level, you said you saved up a whole lot of money to become the dj artist.. How much did you save up to take the plunge, 100k? 200k? 20k?
seems like a nice dood. I don't really listen. to much European electronic music. need to branch out more. I miss being handed a. mixtape or a CD. if someone gives me. a. mysterious usb drive there's a. zero percent chance I'm putting that in my computer 😂
Lmao I noticed that too. I think the interviewer is making James nervous with his mean look staring into his soul. Or the way the seats are angled makes it awkward to look at each other.
James is so humble, no ego Great Dj!
Agreed :)
He's so open and honest. A very good educator.
James Hype actually inspired me to hit the decks and start DJing
That's awesome Craig!

James has worked extremely hard to get where he is, and it shows. :)

Nice one Toby, thanks for watching!

Yup! It's a decision James had to make too, as he says.
James is a legit talent. I hope he inspires all these terrible dj’s of this generation to do more than just pressing sync and hitting a couple of FX.
He really is :)
I dont use sync, i do it manually
@@STLMetroSirensMain He isnt on about just you mate

Thank you! This is what I need to hear. Real life preparation meets opportunity. Great content!
Glad you enjoyed this
James has really been there with his streams and helped me through a bad year, awesome guy and huge talent. Just wait until Ferrari drops!
He'll be glad to hear that!
This aged like fine wine
A track he DID NOT produce…

Is this the next video you were saying, or will the next video be posted here on the YT channel?
Not sure what you're asking here Jackline

James hype the best 🤩
Hype the cue beast😅
@dj EA pro I once tried it and something kept occuring in my mind that I will give up DJing if I break my Cue Button. My equipment is just 2months old😅
He's a beast!
Love to learn about his tattoo. Always wondered about that. Thanks for sharing.
Love this interview!
Great Video! Very inspiring!
Thanks for watching!
James Hype is an inspiration for every DJ
Indeed!
#HYPE is a #BOSS
This guy is a true Entertainer.. This is the purpose of a dj. To be an entertainer
He's definitely an entertainer!
...and a creative artist.
My 2 fav pplz right here
Thanks Neil!

I would guess closer to your third figure than your first two.
@@digitaldjtipswhere would you spend the money?
How did he find a specifically house club to perform in?
I Love this interview, James hype is by far the most creative and best house dj ever...🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Glad you enjoyed it!
💘
Nice 👍🏽 cheers 🍻
Thanks for watching!
Born talent so good
I think James might be the first to disagree with that, he's put an insane amount of work into getting where he is :)
@@digitaldjtips know I get that but he is different he is the best so talented 👍🏻

Hah yeah slightly more worrying isn't it? :)
Where's the next video with James's 10 dj tips? Can't see it on your channel?
James hype, legend.
At first though I thought it was Eminem minus the f-in and j-effin.
Lol :)
James is not a DJ. He is a very creative artist, entertainer, and brilliant technician.
That is much more than a humble DJ.
Isn't that true of all great DJs?
I was the "weird electronic music kid in a group of rock and rap fans" haha
Haha nothing wrong with that :)
Sounds interesting I'm 32 and I'm trying to get into becoming a dj and I was wondering is there part time djs or just full time?
There are all types of DJ from hobby DJs to part time to full time.
I am starting all over again as a DJ, and streaming on social media is the best option while mastering and learning the art of DJing.
NICE
Thanks!
James is the man
He is!
🖖
Let your skills be known! Show em you’re not smoke and mirrors
;-)
For sure, James has skills for days :)
This seems to be like the first platform that inviews DJs?
Nah there are plenty of others, not quite like this though I suppose, we were with James for a whole week making the course :)
Let him talk please
Thanks for your feedback David.
@@digitaldjtipsi think it was well directed, it didn't seem like he felt rushed and that way the video doesn't last 1 hour
Modern day version of james zabiela
Two James's!
Can we talk about how he looks into the camera rather than at the interviewer? 🥴
It's part of the course and so we'd spent most of the time when filming talking into the camera (to the student) :)
Lmao I noticed that too. I think the interviewer is making James nervous with his mean look staring into his soul. Or the way the seats are angled makes it awkward to look at each other.
So, did he made it ? Lol
He can’t mix on turntables because there is no bpm counter and no sync
Thankyou and goodnight
