I miss the old Wargear Cards. We'd cool off after a game with a hilarious round of Wargear Roulette, where each player takes a single imperial guardsman, then we shuffle up all the wargear cards and give 3 to each player in a faceoff. Your guardsman would suddenly whip out a master-crafted bolt pistol, a power field and the Talon of Horus and feel pretty chuffed with himself. Then the chap opposite him disintegrates him with a Vortex Grenade.
Really appreciate your chill attitude in these videos. I understand the painters who are really focused on things like Golden Demon, but it's also really nice to watch someone who is here just to share the love of the hobby.
That's a solid dose of nostalgia, Khârn's one of the handful of 2nd edition characters I bought just for their own sake, back when my marine chapter was my only army and everything else was just for fun's sake - him, Eldrad, Abaddon (later repurposed for my own chaos lord), and Jain Zar and Karandras (both later converted to Dark Eldar). Great paint job on yours, I'll try out that method of basecoating and white highlighting skulls before the wash myself next time I have a skull handy.
The warband is really taking shape! Looking forward to watching it grow into a proper crusade--which should also leave you with enough music for a proper album.
As I always say, Khârn the Betrayer was pretty fun to be around, and contrary to popular belief he actually had a sense of humor as well. Probably the best example was in the middle of the campaign during a sweeping of an Imperial Guard command post, with Khorne Berserkers and our Red Rivers company marching directly into the defensive fire. The closer we got, the more apparent it became that the only thing holding the Guardsmen together was a grizzled looking Commissar in full uniform, one gun turned on us and another firing on any of his men who looked like running. Khârn was at the tip of the assault, and so he got to the Commissar first, plucking the screaming officer up by the neck and holding him over his head. Then, out of nowhere one of the other berserkers grabs the Commissar's legs and roars "MAKE A WISH!". Well, as you can imagine everyone on both sides forgets about the fight, and watches Khârn and this other Khorne-worshiping marine just start pulling on this Commissar at both ends, the old man screaming out oaths and curses like you wouldn't believe! You could almost hear the sound of flesh tearing and bone snapping over the cheering. Then, Khârn just let go. Totally not expecting it and pulling with all his might, the Khorne Berserker just falls backwards and starts tumbling with the near dead Commissar into a damaged hellhound, his armor grating off it and sparking! Well, after the explosion we all turned back to Khârn, who had managed to keep a hold of the Commissar's fancy hat. Ol' Khârn put it on, and damned if it wasn't the funniest thing any of us had ever seen... till he turned to us and bellowed "I'M THE NEW COMMISSAR" at us. They tell me five thousand traitor guardsmen died that day before someone could take that hat off him. What a kidder!
I love your videos! You have inspired me to finally start finishing some models. I've had such an issue with focusing too much on perfection and, as a result, never finished painting because I was never happy with the result, but after watching your videos and seeing your chill attitude I've been inspired to just enjoy the process of painting and not worry about the finished product. Im very happy to see more "oldhammer" youtubers. These older scuplts have so much character that a nice paint job really beings out.

I got 2 metal Kharns. I love the model. Thank you for this video. It made me remember the fun game with Kharn... Single attack phase Kharn pretty much destroyed 1200P worth of models back in the day. Still considered one the most epic things happening in our gaming circle.

Metal Kharn is rad, I got the og metal one when they bought him back last year to lead my world eaters, even if he looks a little short compared to the new models you wouldn't dare tell him that
I really enjoy the way you paint, as well as the quality of your close shots. I also enjoy that you include lore with your videos. Kharn was only angry that the planet was cold, and he was just trying to keep everyone warm, especially his fellow World Eaters :P

A sitting duck in 2nd edition. Dying from heavy weapons as soon as he moved towards the enemy. Not being hidden in a forest or other locations granting 'Out of sight' probably killed right after having been deployed.
Huron next please!! it'd be interesting to see you paint a more modern figure. and he's my favorite chaos boy! (anything you paint next i'm good with. but i gotta ask anyways lol.)

I love the old metal miniatures too! I have this figure, still in the blister. I want to.paint it, bit I'm torn. Opening a sealed blister anymore seems taboo, after all, they don't write-em like this anymore, no they don't, no no.....

It reminds me of Ren & Stimpey, in a good way; and the claret and blue colour scheme of his flesh, convinces me that Khan is a West Ham fan.

While Karns proportions may be completely out of whack that’s a beautifully sculpted miniature
I still have my Kharn from back then, since he won 2nd place at an official GW competition almost 30 years ago.
