That was extremely embarassing and cringe of the gen-z girl. She wanted to play victim so bad and used the 'privledge' word to try to hide her own inconsistencies and to switch the script around on being 'attacked'. Absolutely ridiculious that she didn't have the skills, or interest, whatsoever to explore the topic from a critical mindset. Disgusting.

So she talks about the virtues of recognising privilege and not judging, yet I'm sure if someone were beating a woman or slaughtering a dog, she wouldn't be so passive and non judgemental. Clear cognitive bias and appeals to relative privation/whataboutism. Tbh It's actually quite sickening that she's hiding behind the virtues she's cheery picked and abused the application of.

my god chip, you're good. you didn't relent, and always on point. you make the only right option so clear, really seems like powerful stuff and I like how you go against the whole thing of "well can't convince them in one day, but you can plant a seed", it seems to me you strive to convince them in one day until they are exhausted, then even if they don't change today at least a big, well-watered, seed will have been planted.
Great conversation! I really liked how well you established rapport, gave them each time to speak, and established values. I wanted to give a few of my intuitions/input, which should be taken with rather a lot of salt as I have no relevant background from which to talk. At times, you interjected in a way which sort of disagreed with them (I'm thinking of when you said that fish feel pain and that tofu has a better protein to fat ratio). I think it would be better to wait until they are done speaking and to acknowledge where you agree with their statement before disagreeing (or giving information which implies disagreement) to keep them from becoming defensive or less interested. I also think it may have been important to kindly, directly, and immediately address the rightmost woman's issues with forcing veganism, as I felt that was making her less open to hearing your points about how we should act as individuals. This may just be me personally, but it seemed like the time spent going over each animal on the graph brings the focus away from the specific stories of the individual cows. It was a lot of time spent on statistics when the major takeaway is that none of these animals live anywhere near their full lifespan. It goes without saying that you did a great job overall!
I wonder what she would have said if you would have asked the girl "what do you think should happen to people who pay for the abuse" after she said that we should kill animal abusers.
There are SO MANY vegan restaurants in the SF Bay. Including vegan sushi (Shenzen in SF is spectacular). I live in a rural part of northern Nevada and am so excited when we make a trip to the Bay specifically because we don't have vegan restaurants here. It might be worth recommending Happy Cow app to some of the people you talk to that use "limited choices" as their excuse. Of course I'd eat dirt before I ever ate another animal, but for those who think with their stomachs it can be important to have that easy access at their fingertips.
Another great proof of evidence that you cannot be religious and also be against animal violence among other great contradictory subjects. Buddhism of all cults that claims to hold a high reverence for life and sanctity.

' 1. Cognitive Dissonance and Moral Conflict Many participants acknowledge that animal abuse is wrong, yet they continue to consume animal products, creating a clear instance of cognitive dissonance-the psychological discomfort that arises from holding two conflicting beliefs or behaviors. For example, one participant states that they believe animal abuse should be punishable by death but admits to continuing to consume animal products, showing the internal conflict between their moral beliefs and actions. - Rationalization: To resolve this dissonance, participants offer justifications, such as cultural practices, convenience, or lack of accessible vegan options. This rationalization helps ease the discomfort of acting against their stated values, a common psychological defense mechanism when people face conflicts between their ideals and their behavior. 2. Moral Superiority and Advocacy The vegan advocate in the conversation frames veganism as not just a lifestyle but a moral obligation. This perspective can lead to a sense of moral superiority, as the advocate strongly implies that those who continue to consume animal products are acting immorally by supporting a system that exploits and abuses animals. - Moral Absolutism: The advocate’s view reflects a form of moral absolutism, where they believe their ethical stance on animal rights is the correct one and that anyone who disagrees is inherently in the wrong. This may lead to friction in discussions, as it positions non-vegans as morally inferior, which can provoke defensiveness in those who are being challenged. 3. Emotional Manipulation and Guilt The conversation frequently touches on the suffering of animals in the dairy and meat industries, with graphic descriptions of forceful insemination and the slaughter of animals. These descriptions are intended to evoke empathy and a sense of guilt in the participants, aiming to push them toward making changes in their lifestyle. - Empathy Elicitation: By humanizing animals and comparing their suffering to that of humans (e.g., comparing the separation of cow mothers from their calves to taking a baby away from its mother), the advocate attempts to elicit emotional responses that may drive participants to change their behavior. This is a common technique in advocacy to create emotional alignment with a cause. - Guilt as a Motivator: The repeated reminders of the harm done to animals (e.g., “a lot of animals will be exploited, abused, and slaughtered on your behalf”) are designed to invoke guilt in the participants, compelling them to reassess their contribution to the system. Guilt can be an effective motivator for behavior change, though it can also cause defensiveness or resistance if people feel they are being unfairly blamed. 4. Social and Cultural Justifications Participants frequently reference cultural influences and the difficulty of maintaining a vegan lifestyle in certain environments, particularly in the U.S., where meat consumption is normalized and sometimes subsidized by the government. - Social Norms and Cultural Identity: For many, eating meat is deeply embedded in their cultural identity and social practices. Changing these habits can create a sense of alienation or loss, making it harder for people to fully embrace veganism. For example, one participant discusses how Vietnamese cuisine is heavily meat-based, making it challenging to completely eliminate animal products. - Pragmatic Barriers: The conversation also touches on economic and practical barriers to adopting a vegan lifestyle, such as food deserts and the high cost or inconvenience of finding vegan options. These pragmatic concerns present obstacles to behavior change, even for those who may be morally inclined toward veganism. 5. Personal Responsibility vs. Collective Action The conversation highlights the tension between individual responsibility and collective action in addressing systemic issues like animal exploitation. The advocate emphasizes the importance of individual choices (e.g., buying plant-based products) as part of a broader strategy to create change within a capitalist system. - Internal vs. External Locus of Control: Participants express varying degrees of agency regarding their ability to make a difference. Those with an internal locus of control feel they can influence change by altering their consumption habits, while others with an external locus of control focus more on systemic barriers and the role of big business, implying that individual actions may be insufficient on their own to drive significant change. 6. Privilege and Access The theme of privilege emerges throughout the conversation, with some participants acknowledging that being able to choose a vegan lifestyle is a form of privilege. For example, one participant states that it is a privilege to even have the option to go vegan, as many people, especially in impoverished areas, do not have access to affordable or healthy food choices. - Privilege Awareness: The recognition of privilege introduces a broader social justice framework to the discussion, linking the ethics of veganism to issues of food access and inequality. However, the advocate challenges the idea that veganism is purely a matter of privilege, pointing out that many of the world’s poorest populations eat plant-based diets out of necessity, not choice. Conclusion This transcript reveals the complexity of moral, social, and psychological factors involved in the debate over veganism. Cognitive dissonance plays a significant role as participants struggle to reconcile their beliefs about animal rights with their dietary choices. The advocate employs moral absolutism, emotional appeals, and guilt to persuade others, while participants bring up cultural norms, practical barriers, and personal responsibility to explain their current habits. The conversation illustrates how deeply personal and social values intersect in discussions about ethical consumption.'

Veganism is about opposing the exploitation and commodification of animals, not supporting these industries with our money. It's not about eliminating all death in the world but focusing on the harm we cause directly. The only thing we can control is our own actions. Insects killed in crop production are an unfortunate accident-nobody is intentionally breeding or profiting from their deaths, so there's no way to support or boycott it. However, we can reduce the need for large-scale crop production by shifting to a plant-based diet, as animal agriculture consumes far more plants than humans do. And no, vegans don't eat insects, as it goes against our principles-especially when we have so many other options available.
Yeah it’s absolutely a doable choice to be vegetarian. I say that as a meat eater, but I did it for nearly a year. As to the why I eat it again, well it doesn’t conflict with my morals anymore.
I don't know why this channel popped up, I'm definitely not a vegan nor do I plan to be... but these arguments are so bad on both sides of it. I don't support animal abuse by buying and eating meat. I'm a voter, I'll vote for someone that wants to change the rules. That said, I'm also alive- and I'll be doing what humans have always done... eating meat. This is obviously not a top tier issue for me, since there are plenty of humans being abused and for me that'll come first... but when we get to a point where the political parties have fixed everything else and we're able to make this an issue, I'm down. The reality is that it's not an animal rights issue, it's a capitalism issue. Animals aren't abused for fun- they're abused for profit. Want to change environments for the animals? Get on the train and realize that you're bitching about one tiny piece of a large issue that can't be fixed because people have turned away from eating meat. That's... childish. You're practically a libertarian here- "Oh you don't like the system, but you participate in the system, how interesting"... yeah, fuck off with that lol.
Meat consumption is not a small issue, in fact 75% of all agricultural land is used for raising animals, either directly like pasture land, or indirectly to grow soy and other products which are fed to animals. And your argumentation is flawed, you should take responsability for your own actions. If you like meat and don't want to stop, then that's your choice, but you don't get to wash your hands by saying it's all on the government. If killing a person were legal, would you kill someone? No, most likely not. So to say that it's all on the government is to deny that you have personal morals and agency. Additionally, it is also not true that humans have always been eating meat, at least not on this scale, it was never the case in human history that humans would eat meat everyday (or for every single meal for some people). Futhermore, it is a fallacy to say ''I care about humans not being abused, so I can't care about animals'', you can care about both. And in fact, reducing meat consumption would help repurpose agricultural land which could greatly help world hunger and resource allocation, which would help millions of people. I do agree that capitalism is a core issue here.
@@merikslingerland1293 oh I take full responsibility for liking and consuming meat, don't misunderstand me... Ultimately, I don't care about this issue at all. Animals are cool but nature be nature, I don't care. That said, I'm a logical person... I can see that profit is leading to treating these animals horribly. There's no reason for that, and that we can and should fix. And that I'm willing to vote for, push for, advocate for... but I'll do so while also consuming meat, and I don't feel even slightly guilty, that's the circle. It doesn't mean we shouldn't do better.
The analogy between feminism and veganism is bad Cip. You can’t name 1 single right that a man has that a woman doesn’t in the USA. Equal rights have been achieved. There’s a whole list of rights that animals don’t have. NOT ANALOGOUS!!!!!🚩🚩
It's a privilege to be against rape, murder, and torture. Such a privilege.
Exactly my thought, veganism is for royalty.
@@holgamuller9987 the way I see it is you actually give up your privilege. We as a human species have given ourselves a position as oppressor and by definition when you can play oppressor and don’t have to consider or change your position as one, that’s privilege. Vegans give up our privilege by no longer playing oppressor and taking what isn’t ours.

Yeah.. it’s insane, right?

That was extremely embarassing and cringe of the gen-z girl. She wanted to play victim so bad and used the 'privledge' word to try to hide her own inconsistencies and to switch the script around on being 'attacked'. Absolutely ridiculious that she didn't have the skills, or interest, whatsoever to explore the topic from a critical mindset. Disgusting.
"I strongly believe animal abuse should be punishable by ⚰"
"When you think of someone who's vegan, you think of someone who pushes that ideal onto other people..."

Great video! I second the comment about asking them what justifications they would use if it were them in the animal's position
I wonder what she would have said if you would have asked the girl "what do you think should happen to people who pay for the abuse" after she said that we should kill animal abusers.
Great point. Just to show her her own contradiction
Well done for your outreach 🌱👏🏽👏🏽

' 1. Cognitive Dissonance and Moral Conflict
Many participants acknowledge that animal abuse is wrong, yet they continue to consume animal products, creating a clear instance of cognitive dissonance-the psychological discomfort that arises from holding two conflicting beliefs or behaviors.
2. Moral Superiority and Advocacy
The vegan advocate in the conversation frames veganism as not just a lifestyle but a moral obligation.
3. Emotional Manipulation and Guilt
The conversation frequently touches on the suffering of animals in the dairy and meat industries, with graphic descriptions of forceful insemination and the slaughter of animals.
4. Social and Cultural Justifications
Participants frequently reference cultural influences and the difficulty of maintaining a vegan lifestyle in certain environments, particularly in the U.S., where meat consumption is normalized and sometimes subsidized by the government.
Collective Action
The conversation highlights the tension between individual responsibility and collective action in addressing systemic issues like animal exploitation.
6. Privilege and Access
The theme of privilege emerges throughout the conversation, with some participants acknowledging that being able to choose a vegan lifestyle is a form of privilege.
Conclusion
This transcript reveals the complexity of moral, social, and psychological factors involved in the debate over veganism.

Search which country eats more animals..
These are developed nations... Underdeveloped or developing world is already not eating as much meat as those who actually have the option to go for the vegan Alternative..
A lot of my vegan friends are African , asian and south asian..
If they can go vegan, why can't those living in the developed world..
@@scienceislove2014 great point, and she would probably try to use your friends from those countries who she thinks can’t go vegan as her reason to not be because it’s a “privilege”. Gross logic all around, animal abusers are the ones in positions of privilege and Americans need to be better educated about other places and people.
LOL she said Veganism is a privalage not many people can do... how are people so ignorant lol. Yes some people can't be, but she's from the united states. Most people from countries like that can be very easily.
@@FroscoTraining it’s just arguments she’s heard on the internet and is reusing without really thinking about if it even makes sense. For some reason these kids take the word privilege as something they shouldn’t do, funny they aren’t giving up their access to other amenities (privileges) because some people don’t have access to them. It’s just when it’s veganism that everyone has to be able to do it with them 🙄 how convenient.
Funnier is she doesn’t realize she is the one in the position of privilege by living in a country where those products are cheap and where she has the right to be abusive to animals. I think vegans actually give up our privilege.
@@caseyvenable7701 great points!

Wow, all three really showed off their entitlement and hypocrisy vividly - but that one on the right with the “Buddhist parents“ who kept dropping the “privilege” bombs really embarrassed herself badly. Cringe. Good work trying to steer them toward what it’s all about - i.e. there’s no excuse for animal use. I trust they will allow that wisdom you imparted to flourish sooner than later.
Hahahaha Cip : check out 16 .25. The Jim Morris Girl was going down the road of "Your a White Privileged Vegan", and then you explained that lentils, beans etc are the cheapest foods. At this point the tall ,"I'm no longer Vegan because lack of B12 made my arm drop off", dark haired one rolls her 👀 like a kid that's just been told to behave lol
😂😂😂
I guess you could perhaps phrase it as 'if you not vegan then your contributing to, and exacerbating this global issue'
Hey 👋 The elderly lady should go full vegan and join the animal rights movement! She would do great, ehe is already quite knowledgeable.

Hiiii
what are the vegan views on the consumption of insects? genuinely curious
Insects are sentient beings also. We’re against it.
And no, vegans don't eat insects, as it goes against our principles-especially when we have so many other options available.

you are what you eat is stanford study mate. one small correction. You are great though. Really awesome.

It’s a bit like “oops.. i’m that vegan that she hates.. haha”
what a pretty family. I HOPE THEy GO VEgaN!
Eating animals is good for you though?
What about the victims?
Yeah it’s absolutely a doable choice to be vegetarian. I say that as a meat eater, but I did it for nearly a year.
As to the why I eat it again, well it doesn’t conflict with my morals anymore.
They're triggered because you beta af bro
Bro can’t think of an argument or talking point so he got desperate & tried to throw an insult, but made himself sound low IQ instead, classic 😂😂
This is the biggest splash of copium someone has ever regurgitated into a comment section.
@@AngelJamieJules Coping? With what? My chicken addiction? I don't understand what I'm supposed to be coping with.
It doesn't mean we shouldn't do better.
your omni friend dont give you attention? oh here you go, please go to meathead channels to get attention
Feminims means equal rights AND opportunities. Discrimination still exists, not within rights, but within opportunities
