  • Here's how you create custom drum maps in Addictive Drums 2 with the "Learn" function. Works just as well for keyboards, midi controllers, Ableton Push etc!

    Really simple to follow and excellent drumming
    I especially like the Hihat range but can not find a tutorial on how to set up the Hats incorporating Addictive s full range of the hat samples utilising the learn function in conjunction with a hi hat CC pedal.
    I have noticed that BFD SSD SD3 and all the rest avoid explaining this at any depth leaving us all to go though days of frustration so hope XLN can lead the way and make a video to help us all out as Hats is undoubtedly the hardest part of the kit to get just right.

    I have a question, is it possible to assign different drums based on velocity? For example, if I hit a cymbal pad lightly it plays Crash 1, if I hit heavy, it plays Crash 2? I can't extend my kit, but it'd be great to be able to play more sounds with different velocities.

      Unfortunately no, that's not possible. In some DAWs it's possible to set up advanced midi routing like you describe. I know it's possible in Logic's Environment for example.

    Just purchased AD2 to setup with my Alesis Nitro. Having mapping issues unfortunately. I usually just use two toms and have tom 2 as my ride. Trying to figure out custom mapping, the preset for my kit isn’t working right? Tom 1 and 3 are the same sound, any tips on how to map the kit where I want on the CC page? Thanks!!

      Hi, if your tom 1 and 3 have the same sound, it could be due to them sending the same MIDI value, if this is the case this can be set up on your Alesis module. If this is not the case, then I think our support team should be able to assist you with getting your kit up and running with AD2, you can get in touch with them over at our support page:

    i have not been able top map my MPC One pads to AD2. Completely counterintuitive, and no tutorials available that I have found to address this. Any help?

      Hi, we don't have any specific tutorial for creating a drum map for MPC One, but there is a tutorial available inside of AD2 that takes you through the Map Window page, there is also another video which is a bit more in-depth that could be of interest here: ruclips.net/video/77LGSsh6uF4/видео.html

    How can I delete my maps?

    • @xlnaudio
      @xlnaudio  Год назад +1

      Hi, you can find your own drum maps in your user folder for AD2, in windows this is located in your documents folder "\Documents\Addictive Drums 2\" and on Mac you can find them in the user library "/your user name/Library/Application Support/Addictive Drums 2/", however if you have XLN Cloud Sync installed the drum maps will be backed up on our server and you will need to get in touch with our support team in order to remove them: www.xlnaudio.com/support

    What a misleading title on this vid. It describes the simplest single thing that we all already know, IF our particular drum kit has a preset map on the list. What if it doesn't? What about the high hat cc, cymbal choke or snare drum cc articulations? This vid does NOT explain how to create custom maps. "and that's it!" Um, no It isn't, and you know it. This was not at all helpful...
