(There is the comic series though ;)) I'm all for a reunion season- as long as it takes into account the events from the film and the character developments and gives a believable storyline. Also, it should take place mainly after Serenity (the film) and not try to have the characters behave exactly as they did in the series (character development/growth)

Reporting from that parallel universe: Good news first: Firefly is now in it's twentieth season and while there are a few "not so good" episodes the show as a whole is still getting better and NEVER disappointed. Bad News is: Trump is the dictator of the world for 18 years now. War, hunger and racism everywhere. Plus: Climate Change (non-existant according to our bold leader) hast hit us really hard. The whole world seems to be burning to the ground and more than 10 billion people (78 % of earths population) became homeless nomads over the last 10 years. Still glad I found the passage to this parallel universe, because life here is still better than life without more seasons of firefly.
Matt Johnson if the ships cat in Red Dwarf evolved in space over millions of years maybe he could be construed as alien, but good points! Both Firefly and Red Dwarf are excellent shows.

The instruments used in this song are a perfect microcosm of Joss Whedon’s firefly universe. Hear me out; The steel slide guitar, mandolin and fiddle are so rustic, organic and country. Touched with the crisp distorted electric guitar on the oscillator that brings crisp modernity into the mix. And the orchestral melody tying it all together with elegance and mystique
Not a big sci-fi person at all, but this show had me hooked at first watch. There's a chemistry between the cast and an originality that isn't seen much elsewhere. Just finished watching the entire series and wishing for more... :(
The rookie is great the way I typed that made it look like I didn't like it but anything can be made better with nathan fillion . Modern family great then modern family with Nathan fillion even better just sad he never become a permanent character on the show 😢

I happened to catch Serenity when it was being shown on Sci-Fi a little while after its release. Being a big fan of sci-fi, I thought it was one of the coolest movies I'd ever seen. Then in college a friend of mine told me about this show called Firefly that was what led to Serenity, and I just thought, "WHAAAAAAT???" I was ecstatic to learn there was more to this incredible universe Joss Whedon had created. I eventually went out and bought the complete series and took my time going through it, coming to love it more than any show I'd seen in a very long time. When it was over I rewatched Serenity and decided that the adventures of Malcolm Reynolds and his crew were just as awesome - or, shiny - as the very best moments of Star Wars and Star Trek. A year later, I'm currently going through the series and movie again and loving it even more. It makes me happy to see more people every day discovering this incredible gem and adding to the ranks of the Browncoats :)
I watched on fox and enjoyed it quite a bit. Thou it was on Friday nights and would get pushed back for sport and other thing. But when I found it at Walmart a year or two later I bought it.

I know Serenity is on Google 100% to rent. Maybe Amazon as well. As for Firefly, Disney Plus has it, doubt they'll add Serenity though. Started watching this yesterday, got through 5 episodes already. I'm already incredibly sad about the fact that only 14 were ever made. Jeez, such an incredible concept ruined by executive meddling. I just wish this had been made nowadays, when TV stations understand that great series aren't instant cash cows, they take a season or two to get rolling.

Gorram Fox... I started to watch this series a few days ago with my wife because of the hype I heard. i admit I do not like too many sci-fi series. Like babylon 5, or star gate. They are too pew-pew for my taste. (for instance I love ST: TOS) But this show... it really got to me. Great characters, funny moments, packed with a reasonable amount of action and drama. Just perfect. And I saw some criticsm, how scifi and western don't mix well... it is bs. This show was the best space series ever made. Period. And I am saying this after 12 years of airing. Just sad.
I was late to the party aswell Gabor. I watched the motion picture adaptation "Serenity" one late night in 2006 not knowing anything about the buzz & the short-lived television series but fell in love almost immediately. It wasn't until the next day at work was I informed by a coworker about the history & mismanagement that led to the movie. I then, upon staunch encouragement; decided to watch the up coming Firefly marathon on SyFy very soon after. I was blown away to say the least. Fox will forever be kicking themselves in the ass for slighting Joss Whedon's brilliant creation. What a shame! Brown Coats my die but they will never be forgotton
I love this show. It's my all time favorite show. But as much as I'd like several more seasons of Firefly, I also don't want to see it tarnished. They'd just screw it up with identity politics like all the other shows they are ruining these days.
News from the future.. disney acquired it from fox and seems to be doing a reboot, because streaming services are the future now that movie theaters are dead. BUT, it will be more PG and fun than the original PG13 nature of the show.

if I had to say one positive side to how there isn't more of firefly, is that at least what we have, will always be good, will always have a place in every heart that has heard of this verse, it may not be the shiniest, nor the most expansive, but every fan can agree, it was wonderful, to the last, whereas nowadays we have star wars imploding, star trek with it, and even spilling out into non sci-fi marvel turned into a dumpster fire, but that's ok, cause they can't take the sky from us, we'll always be free, since we've found Serenity.
I really love this show, and i hate watching it again knowing that it ends after 14 eps, knowing this show could have easily gone on with 2-3 more seasons before the movie.
This song is still the most soulful song in television theme history, the perfect accompaniment to the single best science fiction story in motion picture history. Here's to hoping that SHIELD doesn't get FOX'ed the way Firefly did.

As for Firefly, Disney Plus has it, doubt they'll add Serenity though. I still got my Serenity dvd that I grabbed from my grandparent's place almost 20 years back. They never watched it, don't know why they had it anyway. Basically how I got into all that.
This show will never die, neither will this song. Sonny Rhodes' work is immortal, though the man himself was not.

This was one of my Dad's and I's favorite shows. I loved watching it with him and talking about. When he was dying of cancer we binge watched it together again. Since he's passed I've not yet been able to watch it again...

You should watch Castle as well. Nathan Fillion (Mal) plays a dude and at one point he shows that he speaks chinese and the co-star is like "whuh?" and he plays it off. It's a good moment.
Started watching this yesterday, got through 5 episodes already. I'm already incredibly sad about the fact that only 14 were ever made. Jeez, such an incredible concept ruined by executive meddling. I just wish this had been made nowadays, when TV stations understand that great series aren't instant cash cows, they take a season or two to get rolling.

A sci-fi street ballad that works on every level. Amazing and beautiful.
Gorram Fox... I started to watch this series a few days ago with my wife because of the hype I heard. i admit I do not like too many sci-fi series. Like babylon 5, or star gate. They are too pew-pew for my taste. (for instance I love ST: TOS)
But this show... it really got to me. Great characters, funny moments, packed with a reasonable amount of action and drama. Just perfect. And I saw some criticsm, how scifi and western don't mix well... it is bs. This show was the best space series ever made. Period. And I am saying this after 12 years of airing. Just sad.

I was late to the party aswell Gabor. I watched the motion picture adaptation "Serenity" one late night in 2006 not knowing anything about the buzz & the short-lived television series but fell in love almost immediately. It wasn't until the next day at work was I informed by a coworker about the history & mismanagement that led to the movie. I then, upon staunch encouragement; decided to watch the up coming Firefly marathon on SyFy very soon after. I was blown away to say the least. Fox will forever be kicking themselves in the ass for slighting Joss Whedon's brilliant creation. What a shame! Brown Coats my die but they will never be forgotton

News from the future.. disney acquired it from fox and seems to be doing a reboot, because streaming services are the future now that movie theaters are dead. BUT, it will be more PG and fun than the original PG13 nature of the show.

if I had to say one positive side to how there isn't more of firefly, is that at least what we have, will always be good, will always have a place in every heart that has heard of this verse, it may not be the shiniest, nor the most expansive, but every fan can agree, it was wonderful, to the last, whereas nowadays we have star wars imploding, star trek with it, and even spilling out into non sci-fi marvel turned into a dumpster fire, but that's ok, cause they can't take the sky from us, we'll always be free, since we've found Serenity.

That's the thing. i think if the 'production costs' of a sci-fi are too high (which is what the Fox execs of the time claimed) they could have just let him refit it into a Western parallel Universe format which is essentially what it is and continue it. That's just my 50 cents though.
