Olight i5R with 3.7v 14500 Runtime Test

- The Olight i5R is fed a 3.7v 14500 to see if it can achieve a longer runtime than its included 2.4v battery. If it cannot, then using an aftermarket 14500 in the i5R might be officially pointless, since the light's output is not boosted either.

Try with a good 14500 like the vapcell or keepower, the GTL are scamm (usually the capacity is not even close to 1/3 of what they said on packaging) , no way you can have 2500mAh in a 14500, max is aroud 1000mAh. I've a Sanyo UR14500P with "only" 800mAh, and it last almost 2x the time of those 2500mAh GTL...
Thanks for this test buddy! You got my sub 👊🏻 🙏 more power to your channel❤
And yeah thanks for saving me some money 😆
Glad it could help. Thanks for the support!
Nice testings. Have the I3T/10440 combo, wonder if the I5R would bring any upgrade actually…
Nice, the i3T with 10440 is my favorite combo! Personally I think the i5R does its best with its included battery. I guess deciding between the two would come down to one’s beam pattern preferences and/or runtime needs. The i3T with 10440 shines better at distance but the i5R’s runtimes are more impressive.
The driver can handle 3,7V ? That's interesting!
did you test the original 2.4v battery? does it run as long as it claim?
I have not done this yet but that’s a good video idea!
@@PardonMyEnglish yes would love to know that as well
I’ll try to make this happen in the next couple of weeks 👍
i tested it, 176 minutes... on Hi
The original battery 2.4v it last 176 minutes and after the first minutes, it has aprox. 100 lm.
Good info and thanks for sharing!
