Love watching your buy vids! Can’t wait to see more!
Great looking cards. Reminds of Kaboom!
Love 90s stuff
Mr Dodson will always be the “Arizona snowman” to me. Peace be with you Arizona Snowman!!!
Awesome
I was big into collecting football cards in the 1990's and got out of collecting around 2000 or so. I sold most of my collection to get into MTG and I kept these cards hoping I could one day complete the set.
Thanks so much for purchasing my collection! I wish I had been able to complete the set that I had for over 20 years, but I am glad it went to someone who truly appreciates the hobby! The money was much needed and the transaction was very smooth.
Anyone looking to sell their collection to Chris know that he is awesome to work with and incredibly fair and I will definitely work with him again in the future if I sell my remaining football cards or if he ever buys MTG collections!
Thank you Chris and much success with your channel!!!
Thank you again and I really appreciate that kind words.
@@collectorinvestordealer hey Chris love the video. I have a question about grading “up charges” do all grading companies have them? CSG,BGS or SCG? I’ve only used PSA I submitted 3 cards last year to PSA and the price for grading fees at the time was $55 per card turn around time was claimed to be 3 months but we all know it ended up taking a full calendar year. Anyway when the cards came back I was charged an additional $200 because of up charges and it just felt slimy like PSA is squeezing every dime they can out of our investment I mean they don’t down charges me when my cards randomly come back PSA 6 or 7 so why is it ok to up charge the 10s? Should I send my cards to another service? I know PSA has the highest resale value, what’s you opinion?
@@old-schoolrookiecollector1667 You're sus'ing out the issue with magic blessing that PSA has. It looks to me like they're done invertedly helping collectors derive greater value. I dunno how most base stuff is even worth submitting at this point.
Hey Mike, if you're looking to sell a MTG collection we may be interested. You can get in contact through our RUclips channel. Thanks!
How did you go about making this set. Was it mainly through card shows? That seems like a super hard set to put together when the internet was just getting going.
I have a great collection of cards from the 50s 60s 70s 80s 90s .
Over 3000 cards in very good condition
Great video
Solid purchase! I almost had the 97 baseball credentials set together before the prices blew up. - Greg
Hey Greg, I know this is a really old post, but do you still have the cards? Are they Credentials or Essential Credentials?
@@luisroldan981 sorry they are all gone
Always love your videos.
I had the Kobe in basketball version and also the dunk n go Nuts subset.
Crazy how 22Topps hasn't reached nearby Target, they must be behind, they get good basketball, football. The 1st 2 seem easy but the third one gets hard(dealer),enjoy the videos!!!
Very cool set I'll keep an eye out for those 3'cards.
I know I've over payed a few times to get a PC card, to finish a rainbow, etc, so I think it could work out for you with this set on individual players.
I have already sold most of my collection but there are approx. 8000 rookies. Mixed collection from B-ball to Tennis. All cards are in A-1 condition. Don’t collect any dings, scratches or rips. There’s a word for this? There are also approx 6500 NASCAR cards including Inserts. No picking through.🐎🌻✌️
Very cool.
Any jersey numbers? And how does that affect their value?
The Marvin Harrison is his jersey number. I am not really sure if that effects the value much. Probably does some.
I remember collecting in 1997, me and my brothers pooled our money to buy some hobby boxes (i was 8yrs old, we were all younger than 10) and there were never any good pulls, it was like ripping open dud pack after dud box looking for the Rice, Sanders, Marino, Favre, and just very rarely getting any stars. We kept going until around 2000 when we realized these sports cards were just a complete ripoff as half the players werent even starter caliber players.
wow id never seen these before. beautiful cards!
So there is no Tony Gonzalez rookie in that set? He’d be a rookie HOFer from that year
Yeah he was not in the set for whatever reason.
As a collector and member of the rare 90's insert community, it doesn't really make sense to have these cards graded. They sell high due to their rarity, there is not much to gain by having them graded unless you expect some of the higher end stars to come back as 10's.
My prediction is that you will do very well with these cards. All you need is one to get a “10” from PSA and your in the real money. I’d wager you at least double your money….and you deserve to do so pealing off $5 g’s as you have. Factoring in you are taking all the risks.
Dude you have to finish that set,it’s your duty man..lol. Good stuff Chris 👍🏻
Baseball card collector huh? If u ever get a chance 2 come 2 Houston, Texas. Link up
Inflation.. and you're working extra hard on this one
First of all i love to live vicariously through you! Lol. I love these videos. Whether you send them in to get graded or not...i would love a follow up to see what you ultimately sold these cards for. You are the best!
I have an extensive collection that I want to sell very soon that I’d like to talk to you about. Ranging from the 70s until now. Lots of 90s inserts. Rookies from all years. Etc.
Do you think the Essential Credential would look better in SGC cases?
Perhaps but for now, the resale value is just so much higher with PSA than SGC on modern cards
Sweet collection, great upside
I'm a Bronco fan and that Elway was awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Love your transparency on purchases like this.
I wish the video was an hour lol. Love this channel
Love this set! I bought a steve young at a card show two months ago. Paid $425.
Really cool set
I didn't see this mentioned in comments yet. This would have to be a prime candidate to go into one of the big boy auction houses. Heritage or Goldin or others would grab a lot of attention. Obviously finding the missing cards to complete the set would be the cherry on top. Grading every card could pay off as well. I just think a set like this could show up on a certain high rollers show I watch every week if marketed right. :)
Finding the missing cards should be difficult, but surprisingly, there is a Steve Young on eBay right now, and a graded Jerry Rice to go along with the Favre that Chris recently saw. That would complete the set, though it's certainly not worth it since the seller is asking several thousand for the Rice.
@@DerethAC I'm almost sure this set in a big attention auction setting will easily go into 5 figures. This would be incredibly hard to put together from start today. I just feel it could be one of those highly talked about items. A few money is no object guys get that Fomo feeling and who knows.
@@rascal3013 Maybe so, but the one thing that makes me skeptical is that there is no big rookie card to be the keystone of the set. If it were the basketball version with the Kobe rookie, the price would be insane.
Your works are greatly appreciated by many. Thank you very much.
WOW, that was an awesome looking near set!
Are you going to list these as buy it now or auction?
It’s always crazy to me that Deion isn’t a more famous collectible star. Had the personality and the production.
What exactly are you looking for?🐎✌️🌻
Thank you for explaining your thoughts about collections purchased and potential profits and pitfalls. Very informative and appreciate your openness as a dealer. Really enjoy all your videos.
Such an awesome set of cards! Thanks for sharing!
Is there a follow up on this one with grades?
My last PSA reveal video included 10 of them
I wonder if U find the last 3 missing cards to finish the set then sell it as a set if it might be worth it.
I am definitely considering that
wow, very cool interesting pickup
Can't wait to see what the cards grade at. I was disappointed that the Emmitt came in at a 6. I looked it over and over until I saw the print line at the bottom. thought it should be an 8 or so. thanks again Chris and I hope they grade well!
I would love to sell them
The 1997 EC are so sweet! Nice collection
Great video, such a classic set! Wondering if you’d ever consider acquiring the other 3 needed to complete it and trying to find a buyer for the whole thing?
I have considered that. I am more likely to break it up, but if those three are readily available, I might go that route
I have been looking for that Curtis Martin for YEARS if you are looking to move the individual card and not the set
I’m that Jamal collector looking for Curtis Martin lmao
Are you a Curtis Martin collector?
@@lucasjohnson911 yes I am
@@willscastleofcards2456 I have his 99 essential credentials now #/5 … I’m not sure if I’d sell rn but, when I do, I’d love to give you an opportunity… if you’re interested.
@@lucasjohnson911 always interested in low number Curtis! I’m in a bunch of FB groups or on instagram too if it’s easier to track me down that way
Thanks for showing this lot. I recently came across a 2000 UD Victory Parallel 25 Jerome Bettis 6/25 in a $1 box, sent to SGC and got a 10, and flipped it for $750.00 on eBay. I think your upside value on the rarity of these 90's and 00 numbered parallels (even commons) is definitely there so thanks for showing what you're thinking, we think a lot alike!
Definitely want to see the grades ima big Ricky waters fan
You had me at George Brett. My favorite player!!
If you feel that PSA grades overly hard on these may want to consider cracking resubbing to SGC. For example, I know in the equivalent grade PSA almost always goes for more, however if you get hosed with a 6 by PSA and then you send it to SGC and it gets an 8, you'll probably have added value. I'd love to either see a reveal video of these cards when you get them back, or at least a summary of what happened in the grading process.
Beautiful collection Chris, congratulations. There’s a raw Barry Sanders (045/100) listed on eBay this morning asking for $4,995. Looks like this rare collection will continue to go up after your video gets circulated
Yeah there are some crazy list prices but you can only go by sold prices
Hi Chris, love your videos. Guys with your level of integrity are extremely rare in the hobby. You mentioned that you picked up a nice George Brett collection on your last visit? My wife is actually a HUGE Brett fan and has nearly all of his cards from his playing days. Missing some oldball stuff and newer releases. Any way we could discuss what you have and maybe work something out? Thanks, Chris C
Im surprised you are not going to ferret out the missing 3, complete the set and grade the whole set. I kind of feel like this set completed and graded could fetch north of 100k for a pmg style set collector.
Definitely. Especially with his reach, he could easily find the last 3.
Great video! this collection was amazing, I can't imagine putting that together with such a tiny print run, especially for 90s cards. The cards themselves were also just beautiful. Thanks for sharing Chris.
Are you willing to sell the set before you grade them? Let me know.
Man I love the 90s cards...wish I had kept the ones I had but alas I sold them all in a time of stupidity back in around 2007-2008
90’s cards FTW. I went from autographs straight to RARE 90’s and I love it. No better years than 96-00
If your viewers accepted 21/23 of your offers, you're doing something right and I'm looking forward to sending you my vintage collection in a few weeks.
By far my favorite insert. I found a Steve Young essential credentials card in my childhood collection and it's my favorite card
I love this channel.
That is a really cool set...
Love that set!
Very cool collection indeed. Wow, for such a limited edition set missing on 3 cards I would have to try and complete it!!
Do you buy cards
Amazing...A insert set of numbered to 100 is sick. That's a extremely hard to complete. Great content. I tip my hat to the seller.
Can you do a review once the psa order comes back?
Great idea!
As few of these exists and with even fewer graded, I might have looked at SGC using a bulk submitter for this lot. At $23 a card I think the offset in resale value between SGC and PSA would be sufficient justification. I am also a bigger fan of SGC with each order I send them.
Breakdown does not include the work needed to complete it.
Great collection! I’m trying to put the set together and have 28 of 60 Essential Credentials
Love these videos. Definitely please do update on psa when u get them please
So cool!
Might as well crack the Emmitt out of that case, the potential of what it might grade for is worth more than a 6
Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer?
I was actually wondering why I did that as well :)
As a Steve Young/Jerry Rice collector, I have 4 Young's and 2 Rice's. I try to pick these up whenever they come up.
Nice collection. I’d love to see that Watters after grading.
Great purchase Chris. GL on hitting a 10 or 2 (or 10 lol) Looking forward to the other purchase stories to follow
That's a set to try to complete and hold for long term.
90’s rare inserts are a good way to go.
Cool collection! I suppose breaking it up is the way to go for selling now but it sure would be cool to chase those last 3 and have the whole set either to hold or attempt to sell for a premium being all together
it seems that having pre-2010 numbered cards have more perceived value and more interest relative to the pre-2010 non-numbered inserts even where the hit/pull rates are similar. First would you agree? Is there an opportunity to focus on non-numbered cards which are just as rare but can cost much less?
I agree with that. Could be an opportunity, I hadnt really though of that.
Shhhh….don’t mention the Jamal anderson
Card #3 Rae Carruth RC might have some sort of significance as well, too bad for all of the wrong reasons.
I have the Marvin Harrison raw of this set in my Colts PC, I had it listed on eBay at $400 obo and someone offered me $350. I ended up just ending the auction cause I didn’t wanna sell it once I saw it was a reality. This set is extremely sought after. I watched a PSA 9 of that Harrison go for $700+
The Marvin Harrison that I sold to Chris is the only one I had that matched the players jersey number. It is 88/100
Psa is super hard on these, I have tons of 90s refractor and they never grade well based on my estimates. I would go with sgc for all. Good luck!
When you buy a collection do you normally negotiate with the seller Or is your offer normally the max you will go?
In person, I normally do a little negotiating. When people send me cards through the mail, I generally just offer my max (or very close to it). I figure people have put a lot of trust in me to send me their cards and that keeps things simple and convenient.
@@collectorinvestordealer That makes sense, I feel like that’s the best way to do it. Thank you for your response and of course your great videos!
I only like baseball, don’t know anything about other sports but when Chris puts up a video I watch!!
Hey Chris, awesome video. Curious what you would value a 1999 Bowman Chrome Interstate Refractor of Randy Moss graded 8.5 by CSG? The interstate refractors in 99 are numbered out of 100 which makes it tough to put a value on it outside of what I paid. Pop count at the big three are extremely low. I took a chance on it at $400. Thanks for any insight if you have the time
Cool card! Tough to say what its value you would... $400 seems in the ballpark to me.
I'm a big Eddie George collector. I would be interested in him
Very cool must have taken a long time to build that wow 🤯. I'd send this set to SGC just my preference
why are you paying $100 per card when you can be a member and get allocations at $50 per card?
When I sent these in, the $50 was not an option
As a PSA member, don’t you get to send in cards $50 now? Also, do you still have the Terrell Davis card, or has it been sold?
Yes, now there is a $50 option. The TD is at PSA
🍭🍼
Good luck with PSA. I've been watching people breaking out cards and resubmitting them over and over with grades from 5-9 on the same card. Seems utterly random.
👍😎
I'm sure you're aware, but those EX cards normally get hammered by PSA, especially EX basketball cards.
Any interest in moving the EC collection?
