I probably used the full sized spare on my golf a half dozen times over 10 years. Almost exclusively on road trips where it saved my bacon. Popped that sucker on and kept going.
I've got 35 years of driving under my belt. I've had 5 flats in that time. Two of them were at home, Two of them were at work and one was on a motorcycle only 100 yards from my house. Despite my "luck", I live in rural Australia and I make darned sure that my spare is inflated. You don't need to go too far here to find yourself well beyond walking distance to a local town or even a neighbouring house. A flat tyre and a flat phone battery could leave you in real trouble on a hot summer's day, here.
Drove through a construction zone while towing my fifth wheel last year. Picked up a nail and had to change a tire on my F350. If I had remembered tire plugs, I could have plugged it. Even with plugs, I would want a spare in case of sidewall damage…
I am driving vehicles since 1981. I had a flat once 30 years ago and did not have a functioning spare. I went to the tire shop 10 minutes away and let them repair the tire. I don't have any spare tires in any of my cars anymore.
Magical fun fact: you cant plug Tesla tires. They have a foam layer below the tread that makes them not able to be plugged without risk of falling apart at high speeds. No tire shop will touch them. So, he better find a spare or know a shop REALLY close by.
To tell the truth I think it’s ugly, but that’s just me. I’m all about to each his own. I do think the wrap greatly improves look. Should have made frunk big enough for golf bag(which is about the only place you’ll see these😊). Great vid guys.
Tor local deliveries or maybe 50 miles towing - a tonne or 2, it can work -ie a larger milk float. For "real hotshot" work, yep, get out of here.... Grab a Duramax or Cummins. (Travel trailer towing [does that mean a caravan, as in a 21-30 foot holiday trailer]- IF going on a real long distance trip, yep that'll be a right PITA.)
It's not bullet proof , it's small arms resistant at best. A large bore handgun or rifle will go right thru those panels . The glass is also not bullet proof. I guess you could cut a deal with the bad guys to only shoot at the body with small ammo .
Isn't it strange how not having a spare tire is somehow a good thing... That is when you know the person is justifying their purchase by making a flaw a feature, making excuses like "how many times have you needed it".... There are millions of fire extinguishers that are never used. Most seatbelt users do not need a seatbelt, some don't EVER need it. Most airbags do not pop, ever in their lifetime. Not having it is ok until you need it. That is why the spare tire is there, most do not need it, EVER. Doesn't mean it is not necessary. Fans not demanding better things is why companies get away with this shit. They are shielding the company from valid critique, defending them for no pay.
Absolutely. There's no way I'd accept paying that much and not even getting a spare tire. Last time I bought tires, I ended up buying 5 of them because the spare was 10 years old and had never been used, but it was old enough to dry-rot a bit and so it had a slow leak. It was still worth the cost to know that if I need it, it's there and I'm not wasting money on tow trucks instead of just a few minutes spent changing a tire.
Definitely will not be going off road without a spare. I live in Wyoming pretty rural and I need a spare and I also need a truck I can not have to wait 6 hours to recharge. However I I guess if it works for him it works for him. I need something that is not built for style, but for actual use.
I would like a Ford E-transit equeivalent with Tesla tech underneath. Including Tesla Software and App and Safety and and and. Do you know another product delivering those?
Has to be better than my Maverick after a year and a half. Coolant loss with coolant valve failure, seat flexing tear forming, 12 volt battery not charging, modem failure (meaning no wifi, no GPS, no long distance start, no ford app use), brake force inconsistent, driveline shutter, airbag recall, crankshaft failure bandaid recall (no full fix determined yet) emergency stop actuation (going into some driveways and parking lot entrances), door unlock on door handles doesn't work sometimes. There's still more.
Typical Tesla quality...once the magic of EVs goes away and they become viewed as just normal everyday vehicles, I feel like people will realize that these Telas aren't built to the highest of quality standards 😅
About the spare tire… I drive around 30k miles a year. I average about a tire a year (already had a sidewall blow out this year). A vehicle that comes with at least a donut is a make a break deal for me. I don’t drive any where crazy, I’m just commuting from Indiana to Chicago. As a truck focused channel I’m surprised you have that opinion about spare tires
We vacation in Montana & Wyoming usually 2 weeks per year, run kayaks on rivers & car-camp at river accesses. Spare tire needed on average every other year. I'm not willing to wait 1 or 2 hours for tire repair service to drive out to remote areas, plus we don't always have cell service. Spare tire is a must.
I drive on average over 75k a year and have had to utilize a spare one time. I was less than a mile from my house and the tires were probably 25 years old on a vehicle I had recently started driving and had been sitting for some time. I have plugged tires on the side of the road but none of the punctures were bad enough that I couldn't simply add some air and continue about my journey and fix it when I got to where I needed to go.
can't see hating the swipe to drive or reverse since you do that only while you are stopped? Seems like the turn signals on buttons would be harder to get used to.
@@brucec954 problem with the swipe is if you don’t perfectly execute it, it doesn’t take. Super annoying especially when executing a multipoint turn in the middle of a busy road or something like that. The blinkers are great both hands stay on the wheel and it is just a move of the thumb. Why do people go to every Cybertruck video to comment how ugly it is and how much they hate it? If they hate it so much, why are they watching every single video that comes out? 😅
BIG OVERLOOKED POINT. (Inspecting" tire to eliminate flats is a pipe dream) Spare Tire needs a jack big enough to lift truck UNLESS YOU CAN USE PNEUMATIC SUSPENSION to lift then lower on blocks. Unless tire self destruction and if nail is in tread area, use an emergency plug patch to get to a repair shop. Does CT have a compressor?
You can hear the regret grow as Andre asks more questions the longer the interview goes. His enthusiasm only appears when he talks about the attention he gets from it. Funny.
1.) intent of no Tesla brand? Tesla intends on having complete new brand based on CT and follow on products. IMO. 2.) Tesla dire warning about keeping clean to prevent “corrosion”. Total crap. So what if someone keeps clean or does PPF/wrap?… what about the SS on the back side of the body? If Tesla is correct, CT will corrode worse than an early Japanese car, or 1973 Chevy Vega. From inside out. I am thinking of canceling (losing deposits) or my confirmed (no vin yet) tri-motor Foundation with range of extender. Due to Tesla corrosion announcement. Plus they offer no corrosion warranty. I have reached to Tesla CT owner email process. So far crickets to my questions. Since old guy owner of TFL has bone to pick at all times with Tesla, investigate this corrosion warning from Tesla. Look at what I say above. It is not about preventing corrosion you can see. It is what you cannot see and stop that is the problem. This insane for my more than $136,000 tri-motor confirmed order.
I don't think I'd worry about that, sounds like legal speak to keep people from trying to do warranty claims on cosmetic issues with the SS, they can just say you didn't take care of it... I have a feeling repair and replacement of these panels is not something Tesla wants to be doing very often... I think it's going to be a trouble spot for them, unlike paint. My concerns with corrosion aren't related to the stainless steel, but more so with what is underneath it... It's only the outer panels that are stainless. Hopefully the "skeleton" isn't rust prone.
That wrap makes that thing look so much better... I used to think it was just stupid and dumb looking but I'm not going to lie it's starting to grow on me and it's because of that wrap.
Enjoyed every minute of this video. TFL did it. Butter EV chill dude. Subscribed. Can't wait for mine to come. Ordered 2x, Dual and Tri Foundation both.
Regarding the lack of spare, I think an air compressor and puncture kit and sidewall patches will get you to the tire store in most situations. There are rare situations where it won't help, like a broken rim or you find out you're driving on cords (this has happened to me). But with a handful of compact items, the spare tire would just be a backup for your backup.
TFL - You've got the perfect contact with Tesla, Kimbal Musk lives in Boulder CO (runs/owns "The Kitchen" restaurant). Interesting reading these comments...many people seem to change their opinion (both pos/neg) after seeing it in person. So I'll reserve my opinion until I see it in person.
Ive said this before but I dont think this works as a truck per say. Too little range but if you're not doing blue collar work that often then I could totally see this as a daily driver.
11:22 better to be safe than sorry every vehicle owner should have a spare on them dont get why especially you wouldn't want that when you have room for a full size one

And no laws coming into effect will stop anyone from buying an ICE if they need it. For the other comments. I carry a tire plug and a compressor. And I’ve got 4 screws in my tires. And with a TPMS was able to identify it before total failure, and got it professionally repaired within a week. If you’re going bush. Throw in a spare… People forget that most Tyre failures are due to slow leaks and overheating tires… TPMS system identity the problem early. A total spontaneous tire failure on a car with a TPMS is extremely rare.
How easy is it to charge with a trailer attached? The super chargers I've seen near me are generally in big box store parking lots and all the drivers back up to them. I have no personal experience with them. I hope one wouldn't have to unhitch to charge.
To me, this is the biggest problem… Even the range deficit from the announcement I could accept if Tesla would provide at least a “pull-thru” dispenser at most superchargers, but they’re unfortunately quite rare… In Europe they’re plentiful. 😢
There are some supercharger stations that have 2-3 extra chargers where you can park with a trailer attached. I guess tesla will add them to most superchargers over the next year when there are more and more people that tow a trailer with the cybertruck.
29:15 Why would you need GAMES in a Ram 3500? FFS All this needless crap driving up the costs of vehicles so guys like this can have a screen to play games, because pulling out his phone to do that would be, what? Too much work? Stop ruining it for the rest of us dude.

That's why I moved to E load. Last thing I need is a flat while towing.
I am driving vehicles since 1981. I had a flat once 30 years ago and did not have a functioning spare. I went to the tire shop 10 minutes away and let them repair the tire. I don't have any spare tires in any of my cars anymore.
@@wolfgangpreier9160 Top tip: Don't try that in rural Australia.
Magical fun fact: you cant plug Tesla tires. They have a foam layer below the tread that makes them not able to be plugged without risk of falling apart at high speeds. No tire shop will touch them. So, he better find a spare or know a shop REALLY close by.
@@ignignxkt Really?
Thanks Andre for being so open, was a really great talk between you two.
To tell the truth I think it’s ugly, but that’s just me. I’m all about to each his own. I do think the wrap greatly improves look. Should have made frunk big enough for golf bag(which is about the only place you’ll see these😊). Great vid guys.
Yeah that's a nice wrap, the brushes look keeps the factory like appearance,
these things do look better in black, and this is the best black yet.
You don’t have to think what we all know. It is a fact that it is ugly

Wow amazing truck, looks futuristic, it’s amazing that it’s bulletproof, like that you can power things. I would definitely take it camping.

Tesla fandom must come with a course on making excuses. Control stalks and buttons are "overly complicated". Large battery is "wasted weight".
He never said it was a good thing
It's extra weight you carry every day which costs you range. Spare when you need it good solution. Tires are 35" so heavy.
Just add a flat roof, that’s all it needs to look amazing.
I have no idea why TESLA didn't add heads up display!!??
Its less safe becomes a distraction in testing so they didn't

Typical Tesla quality...once the magic of EVs goes away and they become viewed as just normal everyday vehicles, I feel like people will realize that these Telas aren't built to the highest of quality standards 😅
About the spare tire… I drive around 30k miles a year. I average about a tire a year (already had a sidewall blow out this year). A vehicle that comes with at least a donut is a make a break deal for me. I don’t drive any where crazy, I’m just commuting from Indiana to Chicago. As a truck focused channel I’m surprised you have that opinion about spare tires
I do not carry and spend energy on things i do not need. Not in more than 40 years f driving.
@@daveallen7767 Interesting country you are living in. Why do you not use your guns to defend against those shooting your tires?
There are, and will be more spare tire options. It just won’t be standard, as not everyone needs one.
I never minded the yoke and the blinker button, but I HATE swiping to drive or reverse. I also hate the horn button which they fixed on the Cybertruck
can't see hating the swipe to drive or reverse since you do that only while you are stopped? Seems like the turn signals on buttons would be harder to get used to.
@@brucec954 problem with the swipe is if you don’t perfectly execute it, it doesn’t take. Super annoying especially when executing a multipoint turn in the middle of a busy road or something like that. The blinkers are great both hands stay on the wheel and it is just a move of the thumb. Kinda like driving a motorcycle and the thumb blinkers
@@brucec954 Ever drive with gloves on? Besides, even if it works perfectly, it’s still irritating that they intentionally made something worse for 0 gain elsewhere. At least they still have the buttons on the ceiling, I’d be using that all the time.
Hey, just wanted to let you know that there are buttons under the rear view mirror that let you put the car in drive or reverse. So you don't have to swipe if you don't want to. Also if the screen should not work you still have them.
Great video , nice flow.
29:40 "I was disappointed with the towing ability, the payload, and the range"....so you bought a Tesla Cybertruck for?????
Lol, I was thinking the whole time, damn this guy is going to be disappointed when it comes to doing truck stuff. Hadn't gotten that far yet. Lol.
Because the revised towing and payload figures are still class leading.
- any 3Tonne bottle jack will lift a wheel - even if "fully loaded"... (it has compressor for suspension, not to pump tyres - there is a $550 option).
there is an optional compressor but basicly it is a 110V model you plug into the outlet of the back of the truck
lol, straps should not go in the sub trunk they should be in the frunk. Once’s you’ve loaded the bed, good luck getting another strap if needed.
You can hear the regret grow as Andre asks more questions the longer the interview goes. His enthusiasm only appears when he talks about the attention he gets from it. Funny.
Yes, teslas are really bad cars. Not comparble to your real cars. Right? It does not even have a crusty exhaust!
Ah! Ah! Nice try! Tesla (an American company) wins again! Get some! Murica! 🇺🇸 🦾🤗
You are projecting buddy
Why do you feel the need to lie? He was like that from the beginning of the video.
Snow digital camo has been my favorite wrap so far.
Not a fan of the CT in general but his looks much better than the stock look.
Slide on the lights from right to left to turn it on
his channel link in the description does not work, and i can't find him by searching for 'butter ev'
I’m happy with my ram 1500
Were you using the Tesla supercharger when you said you got it down to 90 miles of range and it took a hour and fifteen minutes?
Thank you men. Time tells on the longevity.
That's the best wrap I've seen on the CT
Does this thing fit in a home garage? Seems most people like to charge overnight.
Yes, it fits in an American 2 car garage. I saw a video where a model X and Cybertruck fit in a 2 car garage. It was tight, but fit.
Can you please tell me which rap did you use on your Cybertruck? It looks awesome. I want to put it on my.
So ugly, same people buys the Stanley cups are the one to buy this, to be trending 😂😂😂
Is anyone working on a removable in-bed battery system as an equivalent to an auxiliary diesel tank?
I’m a general contractor and literally get at least 1 flat per year. I run e load BFG Ko2’s. The lack of a spare tire is ridiculous. Not a real truck.
@@markplott4820 The major flaw with all current EV trucks with the exception of the silverado is the range . If you want to drive it like a car and go shopping with it then fine it can be like a MY with a bed. But you aren't going to take it to the woods to go camping for a week the battery is just too small. (unless your camping in your back yard). I would never buy the F150 lightning but it has much more utility then the CT
@@crimsondecade7420It depends on which sort of truck tasks you do. If you are a carpenter who works in the city, like someone related to me, EV trucks make sense. If you do long distance high speed towing with heavy payloads, forget it.
@@crimsondecade7420werid. I do all my towing (up to 1.6T) with my model Y, and leave my Nissan patrol at home. We also now do all our camping with the model Y.
I can’t wait for an EV 4x4 to replace the patrol.
If you’re going to tow a 3 tonne van around the country. EV will never be the quickest choice. If that’s you. Then you don’t buy an EV.
Throw in a spare…
People forget that most Tyre failures are due to slow leaks and overheating tires… TPMS system identity the problem early. A total spontaneous tire failure on a car with a TPMS is extremely rare.
Be very careful where you park it! Unfortunately, there are still a lot of Tesla haters out there..
Get it dirty but no fingerprints. 🤣
Lol.
16:44 So for $20k extra you get floor mats. 😂
... & the "Fool-Self-Driving".
People have resources. Oil change for Bugatti can be $30K and that’s for old tech ICE.
I find it annoying when they don't put the model name on vehicles.
is that the evolv 3d brushed metal wrap?
29:15 Why would you need GAMES in a Ram 3500? FFS All this needless crap driving up the costs of vehicles so guys like this can have a screen to play games, because pulling out his phone to do that would be, what? Too much work? Stop ruining it for the rest of us dude.

How come no one ever discribe it as a car with a bed? I remember back in the 70's when there were cars with a bed. This remind me more of that than a truck
Because it has more ground clearance than any truck on the market.
