Brilliant… just brilliant . Your content , tone , manner and presence is spot on. You’d make a great ambassador for Brazil. Just wanted to suggest 2 musical pieces - the psych rock of os mutantes from the late 60s and the sensuous soundtrack and film Black Orpheus.
Portuguese is one of the most beautiful languages in the world. I started learning it in 2020, but due to health issues i had to put the learning on hold. I’m starting up again. But i’m sooo bad at the pronunciation!! i hope i can get better over time

Great video, Elysse. Thank you for sharing. You are really inspiring. Music has also been a strong component of my English language learning. I'm old school, from a time when there was no Internet, no CDs and none of the technological advances that we enjoy today. Nevertheless, I threw myself into learning the language using the resources available at the time: music (as mentioned), English courses on vinyl, talking to native English speakers whenever I met them in Brazil, books, having pen pals in other countries, etc. And yes, it can be done. Language learning is all about curiosity and not being afraid of the new. In the end, it's a very rewarding experience.
WOW! U have such impressive cultural background about Brazil that for a moment i thought that u are brazilian. Amazing and refined musical taste, I recently went to concert by Seu Jorge in my hometown and it was one of the best performances I've been to. He is such great artist!
Tudo soa natural.
Using "a gente" is not that advanced -- most B1 level speakers can use "a gente". My Portuguese is still pretty bad and I use "a gente" all the time. A couple of months ago I was watching videos of this cute couple that do travel videos and they're using "a gente" and I'm like -- that's weird -- they're saying "people" all the time - what does that mean? -- then I looked it up and then I get it - "a gente" means us or we, yes more of an informal us or we. One of the things I'm doing is learning lots of idioms -- yeah that's one of the ways to sound more natural. Me though I still have a long way to go. Watching this video is motivating as her level of verbal fluency after 4 years is amazing!!
Great tips! #SpeakingBrazilian is definitely a must! You are spot on about Professora Virginia, Another great channel to watch for English speakers wanting to learn Portuguese is #plainportuguese. Professora Bea is fluent in English and uses cute animations to illustrate grammar concepts.
I was going to say the same thing - Bea and Virginia -- are both awesome!! -- I love those two channels. Another RUclips channel with really good content is "Easy Portuguese". Bea is great for learning grammar -- I never understood the difference between "O que" and "Que" until I watched one of her videos on that topic -- or the difference between "Gente and A gente". Fantastic channels!

Lovely video, I think it really works cause I´m learning English and sometimes look for videos of people learning Portuguese and I always find something new
Your pronunciation is just amazing, seriously, it's the most impressive pronunciation i've ever seem so far. If you want to keep consuming content in Portuguese, I would recommend the poetry of Fernando Pessoa or the literature of Machado de Assis, it's just outstanding, must see it. Your videos are great, hope you keep it up
I'm curious -- what you meant by your statement - I assume you mean most impressive pronunciation from a non-native speaker you've seen? As native speakers are the standard everyone is trying to reach. For four years -- I do have to say her speaking skills are pretty amazing! -- I'm at a little over a year into my Portuguese journey - almost a B1 level right now -- I can only hope to be that good in 3 more years. 🙂
Greetings from Brazil. Seeing the experience of someone learning your language is so interesting! I am so glad to find your video. 😁

Your accent brings a charm, your roots and all your effort with a super clear pronounce. You speak portuguese so well! I hope every foreigner that I saw in the the comments that are having a hard time trying to learn portuguese be likely to speak comfortably with your tips. Um enorme abraço ♥
Bora aprender inglês juntos?
hint for beginners:
when learning portuguese, you can use the phrase "rebolei leitinho pros crias" as a welcome, a greeting or a informal hello
Brilliant… just brilliant . Your content , tone , manner and presence is spot on. You’d make a great ambassador for Brazil. Just wanted to suggest 2 musical pieces - the psych rock of os mutantes from the late 60s and the sensuous soundtrack and film Black Orpheus.
thank you so much, and thanks for the recs!!
@@elyssedavega tem a "já sei namorar" do tribalistas that is classic too
As outras são excelentes tb. Ótimo gosto @elysse Speaks
You speak it so fluently!! I'm enamoured with your vibes fr, much love from Brazil, you're awesome!
Enamoured by your vibes hahaha thanks!
sou brasileira mas to aqui... Elysse vc arrasa
@@sabrinab4193 how come, you don't speak portuguese?
Native portuguese speaker here. This video is very interesting and educationally, amazing!
Amazing portuguese of yours! Congratz. Similaridades é tão correto quanto semelhanças.
Obrigadaaa!!
Your Portuguese's very good it's almost like a native 👏👏🇧🇷 Eu estou aprendendo o inglês no momento 🚀🚀
Yes, very close to native. Amazing for 4 years!
Wow you speak portuguese so well. I think the most important thing is that you are very smart person. That's a gift!
Épico. I was just thinking about learning Portuguese
Do it!! No ragrets
Wait, was this a reference to dave?
@@GuilhermeSalieri it might be, but Épico is an actual word in Portuguese
''do not fret'' nao conhecia essa, valeu!
Great tips! #SpeakingBrazilian is definitely a must! You are spot on about Professora Virginia,
Another great channel to watch for English speakers wanting to learn Portuguese is #plainportuguese.
I’m libyan amazigh , I learned arabic and English in school, and now I’m learning spanish and looking forward to learn portugués because it’s pretty cool idioma❤

Portugues maravilhoso!!!

OBRIGADO FOR THIS VIDEO - I AM ON A JOURNEY TO LEARN BRAZILIAN PORTUGUES - I LOVE YOUR FILM AND MUSIC RECOMMENDATIONS 😃😃
it's so nice to see foreigners learning portuguese ❤
:)
Just quickly listening to you describe this song about the two contrasted sides of Brazilian culture makes me think of the Phil Collins song another day in paradise....
I'm Brazilian and your Portuguese is amazing!
thanks so much! 🙏
Paused to say that “similaridades” is correct. Wow, great pronunciation and fluency! Congratulations! (I’m not Brazilian, I’m Portuguese.)
Lovely video, I think it really works cause I´m learning English and sometimes look for videos of people learning Portuguese and I always find something new
Two videos in a week, that's great 🤩
HAHA yeah i fluctuate, i’ve been traveling so that’s why i haven’t been posting as much :) i’m happy to be consistent when i can!
Wow, your Portugues accent is flawless. Your R is just perfect!!
Thank you for this video, the resources that you gave us are fantastic.
I started to learn portuguese and with your video i cleared my ideas 💜
Olá, tudo bem?

I’m kind of impressed how u know shit about Brazil way more than the average person. Such a good video.
I’m Brazilian, so I love when people are talking about Portuguese, and they show a Brazilian flag lol. It’s so satisfying… they took our gold, so we took their language lol
