Why? I'm genuinely curious. Is it because a person's nails are connected to a person's hand and arm? What can I say? Wrists turn, fingers break. ;-P jk, obvi.
Thank you for breaking down the steps to create a French tip. I wish you would do the same thing, but on a shorter nail, and maybe not as deep a smile. Happy day to you all 😊💜
My drafting instructor always told us the best way to make a straight line freehanded was to put ur pencil at ur starting point but look at the finish point... Works every time! 😉
I have done French manis on myself freehand, but one or two are always off. It's easier with virtually any sort of round sticker, even one meant to reinforce binder paper holes.
thank you so muchhhh amazing tutorial 💅👌👌 will you consider to make a shaping tutorial as well? I am struggling with the shapes and I would highly appreciate any help I can get thank you
Good visual for beginners. I find it so much easier and quicker to use the brush of the polish to try and get it as neat as I can and then use a small square nail art brush slightly dampened with alcohol/wipe off solution to swipe any mess and get the smile perfect.
Hola hermosa me encanto esta clase del dia de hoy Agrafesco mucho tus enseñanzas te mando mis saludos y bendiciones desde la ciudad de Durango Mexico Bendiciones hermosa☺🤗
sooo... no one is going to acknowledge that Kirsty totally draw a penis at 2.00 ? haha I love everything you do Kirsty and have watched your vids for years
Kirsty. I'm not no nail technician only what I've learnt from you(simply the best) doing these tubes..... My reason for learning is that my daughter 17 yr want' s her nail done all the time, "might i say is quite expensive all the time" and that's just plain old acrylics..... So hence me doing them for her myself..... Any way, my question it's????? What is the kindest way for her natural nails...... It's it tips with overlay? Or sculpting? I've ordered me forms to have a go at doing a Kirsty meakin sculpting nail...... "Well I'll have a try that is" in some fashion...... Hehehe😁😁😁😁😁
Were you here yesterday when a future client and I discussed a smile line? You are amazing!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Now I can really do the perfect smile line thanks to you. I will show my future client that I can do it.
I have big hands and big nailbeds. The biggest Full cover tip wont fit my thumb. Does XXL full cover tips excist (doesnt have to be long stiletto’s) for bigger nailbeds? any advice Kirsty?
Hi Kirsty: If you and Adam are still taking questions for the Q & A video, here’s one... When you reacted to your BirdBox challenge video, you cringed at how much acrylic got on your hands and mentioned that it was super bad for your skin. My question is why is it okay for pedicureists to get it on your skin when they build an extension on or repair a toenail?? Try watching a video by Neo Trix on RUclips if you need an example. Thanks for your help 🤓
Kirsty that was blooming marvellous, I've been a nail tech for donkeys years & I gave up trying to do the '' perfect smile lines '' years ago, haha & I mean many years ago, I just cant do French nails. Its always been my weak area in nails, so I gave up, but I'm inspired again because of what you've just shown, its such a great idea, so I'm going have another go, keep those fingers X'd misses. Thanks hun Xv
Thank you so much for this tutorial it is so good for people like me they don't know how to make French nails it was awesome and I subscribed for you it was the first video I watched on your channel ❤❤❤👍👍
If I was doing that on the fly I would sure enough mess it up but if I took my time and focused, I would be able to do it. Even though it's almond shape it still looks like the front of a ladies dress shoe missing the heal, very chique
I mean, it was a good video, I learned a lot... But I snoop a lot, and couldn't believe I missed to alert about it, watched it, loved it.. Then was shocked that it JUST popped up!!
ohh thank you for this...seems simple, but it's exactly what i needed. i finally have enough "nail estate" to start playing and i wasn't even sure how to keep two colors from bleeding into each other.
beautiful explaination, however, when Kirsty turns the nail around, I think what if this was Andrea's hand, poor Andrea. She would have to be a contortionist.
I used to use a dotted tool and it was easy to get a good smile, but I use a smal detailed brush now, it would be helpful if Kirsty would do a smile with normal polish as I struggle and refuse to do them, but would like a good explanation of how to do it. Its easier with gel as you've got time but with polish u haven't.
Straight line ha I couldn't draw a straight line to save myself and yes I'm that bad LMAO but I must say this is the best tutorial for a smile line I've seen xxx
Cap your edge first, then fill in. If you cap your edges last and then cure, they don't settle with the rest of the product, leaving a ridge around the edge of the nail. Also, be sure you have completely prepped the ENTIRE nail - bed, cuticle, any tip you've applied needs at least a thorough buffing and blending, cleanse, dehydration, primer... Then, work on your base, color/polish and top coat. If even one step is off, it'll sometimes cause rolling/edge ridges/lifting. And, remember, gel hates dust and moisture!
The nail hub had a good video on gel application that may help. Instead of pulling the polish over the tip turn your brush around and cover the tip going from tip to near the cuticle. Or if its gel top coat before curing you can wipe away the excess gel polish before curing, seen Liz acrylic nails do this a lot. Let me know how you get on.
On short nails it looks nicer if you start the white free edge at your natural free edge. You just can't make a really _deep_ smile line like the one Kirsty made in this video. And your right. The deep smile line looks unnatural on short nails.
Please do more of these "idiot's guide" to nails. You just made creating a deep smile line absolutely fool proof.
Looks great but this would be much harder if done on an actual person
Why? I'm genuinely curious. Is it because a person's nails are connected to a person's hand and arm? What can I say? Wrists turn, fingers break. ;-P jk, obvi.
@@calichef1962 it's easy to paint a nail when there's no side walls to get paint on. There for you and get really sharp corners and cleaner lines
Just use a cork even s dancing band would work for a deep smile line.
THANKKKK YOUUU‼️
Thank you for breaking down the steps to create a French tip. I wish you would do the same thing, but on a shorter nail, and maybe not as deep a smile. Happy day to you all 😊💜
This is the most clear I've ever heard a french smile line explanation ☺️💕
My drafting instructor always told us the best way to make a straight line freehanded was to put ur pencil at ur starting point but look at the finish point... Works every time! 😉
I use French Nail stickers to get my smile line lol yes cheat but needs must haha xxx
I have done French manis on myself freehand, but one or two are always off. It's easier with virtually any sort of round sticker, even one meant to reinforce binder paper holes.

finally straight theory about french smileline on youtube! i'm so happy that somebody drew a "smile construction" and it's amazing
I'm french
Wow, thank you for explaining so detailed. So will this technique work with all nail shapes and lengths?
I love you videos
Fom México 👌❤

So cool👍! Can you use the same process for square or round nails .

Please do on someone with small nail bed and short nail plzzzz also would u use acetone or alcohol to tidy? Xx
You would use gel residue wipe off solution or alcohol... This is in gel, after all.
This is perfect! But not realistic to do on an actual client, this would take soooo long........
I love 💗 Beauty Beneath, it’s my favorite pinky nude color.
Were you here yesterday when a future client and I discussed a smile line? You are amazing!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Now I can really do the perfect smile line thanks to you. I will show my future client that I can do it.
That makes so much sense!!! Is it the same when you're doing your own nails? You're amazing btw 😀
Hmm I thought you called this baby boomer but what that is just an ombre... do you do ombré with polish ever or just acrylic?
She has other videos of doing ombres with gel too.
I. Want. To. See. Adam. Do. Acrylics.
I need to see a salon style full set video using this method. Classic French needs to make a come back anyway 😍🔥
Such a great video!
I can do it without using any pencil. This takes ages to do
What do you use to take off the sticky layer? Alcohol?
You look like darla dickenson!
at 7:49 it kinda looks like Santa without any eyes
What actual detail brush do u use the lease ?
I have big hands and big nailbeds. The biggest Full cover tip wont fit my thumb. Does XXL full cover tips excist (doesnt have to be long stiletto’s) for bigger nailbeds? any advice Kirsty?
Try this on real person.....

Oh my gosh, I thought it was impossible for me, thank you!!!!
Perfect😁
Do you have a video of nail piercings? If not, I'd love to see your take on that.
I totally just watched this already....
I mean, it was a good video, I learned a lot... But I snoop a lot, and couldn't believe I missed to alert about it, watched it, loved it.. Then was shocked that it JUST popped up!!
Where are you guys from Kirsty and Adam? xx
Hi I use a tool whith smal ball on the end and it makes life defintly lighter and easeier
Thank you for the clear explanation. I believe I will have better looking smilelines going forward. ❤️
ohh thank you for this...seems simple, but it's exactly what i needed. i finally have enough "nail estate" to start playing and i wasn't even sure how to keep two colors from bleeding into each other.

Excellent "how-to" video, Kirsty! You could do it, too, Adam.
So helpful! Can’t wait to try it
beautiful explaination, however, when Kirsty turns the nail around, I think what if this was Andrea's hand, poor Andrea. She would have to be a contortionist.

Perfection 💅🏽
Thank you so much for great tutorial. It’s been the best ever!
Where did all your nail models go?
I used to use a dotted tool and it was easy to get a good smile, but I use a smal detailed brush now, it would be helpful if Kirsty would do a smile with normal polish as I struggle and refuse to do them, but would like a good explanation of how to do it. Mix some gel with your polish, try a little and see how you like it.
Thanks for sharing this technique Kirsty 😍
💋❤️💋❤️💋
OMG!! It was soooooooooo easy 👍👍👍👍👍👍🤩😳😍
Straight line ha I couldn't draw a straight line to save myself and yes I'm that bad LMAO but I must say this is the best tutorial for a smile line I've seen xxx
Use a ruler.
The outcome is absolutely gorgeous. But I'm worried that this is going to take us an extra hour to do this method.
Use a small cork or a sanding band is good for a deep smile line.
I’m in love with you..in a non creepy-straight kind of way 😂 you’re so talented!
Love your hair again today! You look gorgeous.
Absolutely brilliant such a great trick makes it look so easy thank you xxx
💜
Everything on your hands looks pretty easy. Thank you 😊
Love the white tips. ⛄️⛄️⛄️✨✨✨⛄️⛄️⛄️⛄️
Omg this is so easy. Must try today
Ah! That is now a clever idea to mark it with little spots!! Why did I not think of it!! 🤗💞💅🏼🇿🇦
Always said this using a pencil to mark out stuff is a great idea.the simple things are sometimes the best.

❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very helpful Thanks
can anyone help me ...when i apply gelpolish i always get a little bevel edge around the nail of the gel polish it seems... what am i doing wring?

Love it💅💯💟
I did it on my own nails and it looks lovely
💖💖💖💖 your work 👍👍👍👍👍
I’m going to try this technique 😍
Super comme toujours 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I Love youre videos ❤️
If i try to get perfectly shaped smile line my nail will be short af
On short nails it looks nicer if you start the white free edge at your natural free edge. You just can't make a really _deep_ smile line like the one Kirsty made in this video. And your right. The deep smile line looks unnatural on short nails.
💅trying this today(polish chipped on one of my nails)thanks kirsty💝
Update-this makes the smile line so much easier to do. Thanks Kirsty💅💖
Thanks Kristy.❤
Love this, giving it a try tomorrow 💕
Love it 💕🌸
