I think I’ve leaned little about beading! I’m going to give this a try on a fake nail before I even try my own nails. Your really a good teacher. I was taught about 39 yrs ago as a cosmetologist to do nails, never did them in my salon as the molymore was horrible and you just couldn’t breathe. They have cone out with much better applications so I’m going to try to refresh my memory
I am from the USA and have spent over $10,000 for school. I have been there for three months. I have had a hard time picking this up. Or messing with acrylic and in 16 minutes you have taught me more then what I have learned in school and I figure out what I have been doing wrong Thank you so much. You make beautiful nails and I hope I'm a quarter of the nail tech that you are. You are amazing. Thank you again
Me too! My first course the teacher was terrible, I learned more here on youtube than with her haha, but I'm doing it again with a different school/brand here in Europe. My mistake was to take almost the cheapest course and I did not see the teacher's work, or any reviews, and next year I'm thinking about going to a Nail Camp! :) (This time I have seen all the teachers, and reviews haha)
Ive been accredited for 2 years and I wasnt taught this!! (Im just so blown away. Im buying this mat and going back to square 1). You have made me cry because now I know why I was having so much trouble. thank you thank you thank you.
She mentioned in a q&a video that they’ve been trying to but they have conflicting schedules. Every time they get a collar scheduled to film, a trip pops up that one of them has to do and the filming gets cancelled. But they are trying! Susie mentioned it too.
Thank you for breaking stuff down so eloquently. Doing nail tech work is time intensive and a closed world it seems. People tell you to practice practice practice but they don’t tell you how to practice. And your work right. You show people how to work right. Another thing that you’re right about is that I paid a lot of money to learn how to work great. I don’t think people understand that the reason you get into this business is toSave money and make money. I think the states should be more like you in the UK. As you know I followed you before I started school during school and now I’m still following you after school trying to get faster and better so I can be competitive and pay back some of these big ass loans that I have a cured LOL thank you for still being one of my inspirations
OMG! I was originally trained about 26 yrs ago. I havent done nails (acrylic in 20 yrs). This yr I decided to do nails again. This video was very informative! You gave me tips that will help me immensely. Thx
This is THE BEST tutorial I’ve ever seen! I’m a public school teacher in the States and I’m going to cosmetology school to become a part-time nail tech to help my students and their families. Thank you for this!!!! 💓💓💓💓💓💓
I bought mias secret acrylic kit and I purchased a better brush. I used Mia’s brush first then switched. I was able to get a good result from the brush included in the kit, however the kolinsky brush is really good. Anyway long story short it was my first time and I am quite impressed with what I’ve done I’m left-handed and I was able to do my left hand really well my right hand even better. I want to keep practicing and do more peoples nails I need people to do their nails LOL. Your videos are very informative and I appreciate you.
This is so well explained and I really appreciate it! We didnt even touch on this diagram that was on our papers. So glad to know and understand what it's used for. I am currently in a nail course and I feel like I'm being cheated out of so much time to be able to properly learn and be shown everything I need to be a successful nail tech. I will definitely be watching your videos as I go on to.help me with all the things I'm not taught or we barely speak on in school! Tysm Naio Nails!!!
Kirsty, you are absolutely my favourite nail tech. I love how you explain every step in this course. Just from watching this video I've learned the proper way to get the best acrylic nails. Mind you I need tons of practice still but if it wasn't for you I'd be struggling really bad. Lol I love you. I think you're an awesome person with a great heart ❤️ Thank you so much for all your videos. You ROCK!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I'm sitting in my nail school right now practicing this. Thank you so much! This definitely helps. I'm gonna show some of the people around me this video so hopefully this can help them too :)
This truly has helped me! I do my own nails and I have always struggled with powder to liquid ratio. This technique you taught fully explained the method from start to finish! Thank you, ❤ from the US
You are a cool nail tech and your teaching is awesome. Happy that you share this on youtube, I've been at a loss on pearl sizes for a long time. I normally just do a nail kit from a dollar or discount store.
I"m super excited to begin practicing nails. I have saved this video and found the nail bead practice sheet so that I can follow along with this video and teach myself for the time being. I love how detailed this video was and how clear and zoomed in it was to make it easier for us to follow along with you!'
Hi Kirsty! Angie from Norfolk, Virginia here and I would like to say that you are an amazing instructor! Just breaking it down to basics. Thank you!! 🙏🏼 ❤️
Love this totally agree with all the different ways in the UK you can be taught to do nails I did 3 different courses and I’ve learnt more watching you thank you 😊 Xx
So you don't have cosmetology schools in the UK? Is there any testing, or are there licensing requirements? I live in California and manicurists have to do a 600 hour manicurists' course at a cosmetology school and then take an all day state board examination in either San Francisco or Los Angeles. Practical testing is in the morning and written testing in the afternoon. You take a break between practical testing and written testing for lunch, and then a 30 minute break after written testing before you find out if you passed or failed. (When my grandmother got _her_ license in the 1930s she had to wait for a letter that came six weeks after her exam to learn if she'd passed or failed.) Thankfully, I passed the first time. I'm just sorry I later gave my license up just because I wasn't currently working in the field. I was about 25 at the time and I didn't think I'd ever want to work in the beauty industry again. Boy, was I wrong! What can I say? I was young, dumb and full of rum. ;-)
I watched this video yesterday, then I did a set of nails in the evening!!! Omg I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you Kirsty! What a difference it made to my application 😍
You are so inspiring. Thank you so much. I've been doing nails since I was a little girl and am still trying to perfect my nail game. Your tips have helped me tremendously.
You're a great teacher, thanks for the informative videos you do, I learn so much. I really want to do a nail tech course, it's so expensive. I've learned so much from you & others on RUclips. Thank you once again! 😊
I love and appreciate when you do videos like this. It helps so much because even when we know these things sometimes some people tend to pick up bad habits along the way and forget the essential basics. Thank you so much for sharing 💖 Love you bunches girly
I’m amazed with all of your videos ! Thank you I learn from you honestly... my instructor has not taught me nothing about nails ... very disappointed to go to school for something I love hair and nails , & I have learned nothing proper ... it has all been self taught for me :(
We were taught those exact steps back in the 80s. I find nail techs now a days don't know how to give awesome manicures with great massages. I had clients come to me because I had that area better then others. Id walk out of the shoo with over 1k just in tips a day.
I’m drawling you’re map so I can try. Getting beads was the hardest part for me. I watched videos on every other aspect except for making beads. Your video is extremely helpful. Thank you!
Thank you so much for posting this. I'm currently learning acrylic and this has helped me so much, I've been really struggling to get a consistent bead/application. Your awesome xx
Kirsty you have inspired me so much! I absolutely love your channel! I have never had any training at all but I practice from your tutorials all the time! Its helped me so much! I am definitely in need of your practice sheets I just use a silicone one. Thank you so much for being you!
This is really super helpful as I mainly do my own nails. Haven't gotten the confidence to do others nails yet, but with more practice I'll get there. Thanks for sharing
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I needed this video. You have taught me what I was doing wrong and how to do it right. Thank you from a stay at home mom, who just wants to do her own nails and save some money.
I really love how you described every move you make because I was able to compare it to what I was doing and realizing how doing that could help me. For example, when I would pick up a bead I would pretty much drag it, causing it to leave some of the acrylic on it. Not to mention there are others I noticed🤭 but absolutely great video
Learning lots again, i wish you could come to Netherland to teach, and i wish i could have such a practice sheet, love your teaching, love your personality 😍😚
I damn near cried when you said 50 quid for the class in England. I had to teach myself cause we only have one school and it’s $5000 and I’m a single mom. This video helped me a lot. I’ve always struggled with liquid/powder ratio
Great lesson! Where I live (in California) cosmetology school takes nine months, (at 40 hours per week, for a total of 1600 hours,) and manicurist's school takes three months. Lots of cosmetology schools are tied to our junior/community college system and that makes cosmetology/manicurist's school much more affordable, and if one qualifies for state or federal grants, the costs are very low. Of course, any student will be spending whatever they can afford buying brushes, polishes, different kinds of nail forms, acrylic powders, nail tips and miscellaneous nail art items, because what little the school has to teach with, including the things that are in each student's kit, is all *very* basic, and generally, not very good. As soon as I get notice that my student loan fiasco is resolved, I may go back to cosmetology school to take the manicurists' program. I can't stand for long periods of time anymore (due to a back injury) so the lengthy cosmetology program won't work for me. Besides, I don't want to do hair or makeup anymore. In fact, I never really did. I only went to the full cosmetology school because that's what my "beauty operator" (her term, NOT mine) and salon owner grandmother wanted. She didn't understand back in 1981 that acrylic nails weren't just a momentary fad. I'm sure the course would take me more than three months, as I am disabled, and some days I just can't leave the house. It would probably be a lot of fun to hang out with a bunch of young girls again. Of course, I'd probably end up being the whole school's 'Mom' for the time I'm there, but that's OK, too. Plus, because of my previous experience, and ALL that I've learned from Kirsty, I would be likely to be the top manicure student. It always feels good to be good at things. I sure enjoyed being one of the top students in my culinary school. In fact, I got the highest grade in the school's history on my written final exam. And yes, I'm still proud of that fact 21 years later! ;-)
I love your channel I just started today and you make it look so easy! But your tips really help! Not to mention your cheek bones are popping 🍎😍 lovely!
This was so clear and we loved it 💖 we watch you as part of our homeschool xx it’s like you are taking my kids to work for show and tell 😊 #aussiefunschooling
I was just on a nail course and you have explained it better in 7 minutes than 2 days of training!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜
You are NOT wrong. Ive been accredited for 2 years and I wasnt taught this! (Im just so blown away. Im buying this mat and going back to square 1)
This 16min video has literally taught me more than my actual cosmo school, thank you so much!
this was so good! 4 years of being a nail tech and this video changed application for me❤
I think I’ve leaned little about beading! I’m going to give this a try on a fake nail before I even try my own nails. Your really a good teacher. You and Susie (nail career education)need to Collab together would love to see
It'd be a lot of travel, Susie is in Victoria (Canada) and Kirsty is in the UK.
She mentioned in a q&a video that they’ve been trying to but they have conflicting schedules. Every time they get a collar scheduled to film, a trip pops up that one of them has to do and the filming gets cancelled. But they are trying! Susie mentioned it too.
Agree
I second that! That would be extraordinary!!
Facts even if it is just a webinar because they are in different countries that still be cool as f***
I'm not a nail tech, but I learned a lot about proper bead formation/application, so I know what to look for when I have my nails done. Thanks Kirsty!
This is the most informative acrylic bead video I've seen!
Amazing teaching , I never fail to learn something new when watching you. Thank you for sharing 😆

Neat that Adam is there with you. You are so perfect together. And you are a true educator!

amazing, it feels criminal we get this for free!!! thank you so much for sharing your knowledge
You are a cool nail tech and your teaching is awesome. Happy that you share this on youtube, I've been at a loss on pearl sizes for a long time. I normally just do a nail kit from a dollar or discount store.
This method has seriously just blown my mind. Such a better application! You are amazing Kirsty!!

Best video! Been a nail tech for 7 years, but just learning acrylics as I’ve never worked in a spa that offered them. I wish I could take your course.
Love that practice sheet! How cool is that! I'm definitely going to try the three step walk and pick up of beads. Great video!
And I spy a cameraman 😁
Where did you got it? I'd love to get it

I love these back to basics videos, keep this going :D
Love the back to basics videos. Very helpful and very real. I've learned a lot in your last two videos. Thank you!!! 🤗
I’m amazed with all of your videos ! Thank you I learn from you honestly... my instructor has not taught me nothing about nails ... very disappointed to go to school for something I love hair and nails , & I have learned nothing proper ... it has all been self taught for me :(

This is really super helpful as I mainly do my own nails. Haven't gotten the confidence to do others nails yet, but with more practice I'll get there. Thanks for sharing
That's an amazingly clear demonstration. I soooooooo want to learn how to do acrylics - thank you sooooo much for sharing!!
This video was so helpful compared to the 100s of others I have seen!🖤
You are an amazing teacher!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I needed this video. You have taught me what I was doing wrong and how to do it right. Thank you from a stay at home mom, who just wants to do her own nails and save some money.
Good luck Christina! You can do this!😊
This is an amazing lesson you teach. I love your teaching technics.
I really love how you described every move you make because I was able to compare it to what I was doing and realizing how doing that could help me. For example, when I would pick up a bead I would pretty much drag it, causing it to leave some of the acrylic on it. Not to mention there are others I noticed🤭 but absolutely great video
This is brilliant really breaks down how to create your bead ratios
You are amazing Kirsty meakin love the way you teach and will practice your way x
This tutorial is extremely helpful! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
Learning lots again, i wish you could come to Netherland to teach, and i wish i could have such a practice sheet, love your teaching, love your personality 😍😚
My teacher taught me to drag the brush to get a perfect bead . I’ll definitely try the step technique !
Wow I learned more from this video then I have in a whole year of cosmetology school
The best teacher ✌️
I damn near cried when you said 50 quid for the class in England. I had to teach myself cause we only have one school and it’s $5000 and I’m a single mom. This video helped me a lot. I’ve always struggled with liquid/powder ratio
I wish I could come and learn from you! Beautifully done!!
I love these educational videos!!!!!

Such a talented woman!

I love your channel I just started today and you make it look so easy! But your tips really help! Not to mention your cheek bones are popping 🍎😍 lovely!

You’re absolutely right about prices to become a nail tech in the USA. It’s so expensive here.
This was so clear and we loved it 💖 we watch you as part of our homeschool xx it’s like you are taking my kids to work for show and tell 😊 #aussiefunschooling
