Love these short nail videos. Would love to see you do same art work on a short nail. There's lots of ideas out there on long stilettos type nail, so seeing some sorter nail designs, definitely makes a nice change. It's good to targets all kinds of nails, shapes, sizes, designs etc. 💅🏼😊
I think it's awesome you are showing this technique. I think if you are going to be a well rounded, competent nail technician, then you should learn ALL ways of application. I also think you should continue learning throughout your career. It isn't any different from any other career where continuing education is preferable/mandatory. You're never too old to learn new tricks! And your head should never get so big to where you think you know everything. A smart person knows that they know nothing. I was told this when I was young and I really believe in it.
Ha ha! That is way I am watching this video again, the French went out of fashion in South Africa everybody wanted more dramatic and bling nails, now they all gone conservative again and I also lost the touch to do it, that is why I am watching your tutorial just to inspire myself again! 💕💅🥰🇿🇦
So here's the thing I don't do nails I don't even do my own nails I get them professionally done with all the glitter I can! BUT I have notification set on because when I get anxious if I sit down and watch your video for some reason I feel better I don't know if it's your voice or the fact I love nail stuff so much but thank you for making these videos
Ali Effing Noble since you find watching nails so relaxing and helps you, have you ever thought of trying to get into nails? Even if it’s just on a fake nail with a fake finger for comfort? You never know you could be amazing at it!💕
You must be psychic haha - I am doing an acrylics course and this is the way we have to do our exam set and i have been looking everywhere for good traditional french videos - I was searching yesterday to see if Kirsty had a video on it hahahaha .... THANK YOU
You made it look easy, Kirsty. Good on ya! Adam, I half expect to see you on-camera one day, putting everything you've learned from Kirsty about French Tips onto a fake nail.
Please, after all this years i need to see Adam trying to do your nails! He always do so many awesome questions that i think he will do a really good job.
I like the traditional better, but both are good. I think it's just a matter of preference and what you are use to. Thanks always for your informative videos ❤
This is still how they teach us to do french in school, I just graduated in January. I am now trying to learn the reverse way because it looks so much easier. Thanks for the video!!!
Gels N Gems Nails You will have WAY more success using the reverse method. My school also taught me how to do it this way with no mention what so ever of the reverse method.
Yep! I graduated last year and we learned like this or, more specifically, the Tammy Taylor method, which is tried and true. But we were also taught reverse.
I really like them both, I think it just comes down to whichever one works for the individual dng them as to which smile line u can make the sharpest best looking... Adam u ask great questions.. Thk u & I love u guys together...
I live in Anchorage Alaska, and the nail techs here use a white tip, glue it onto the nail and skin and do not use fresh nippers, files, e-file bits, monomer, or brushes. I stopped getting my nails done years ago due to funds, but I cannot find anyone that uses fresh tools needed to do nails. I love these videos and cannot wait to see Fey back!
I know I’m a little late finding this but I am a new subscriber!! I just want to say this is the most perfect nail I have ever seen for me!! I love short nails but I love the French tip look, every time I get it done my nails look disproportionate to my hands. This is perfection!!
These are my type of nails! I love watching all your videos but I'm just not a stiletto/ballerina type of girl! I'll admit I've never had acrylics either, but these are my dream nails!
I can tell this wasn't your fave but I'm so glad u did this video:) I do like the reverse method but I'm an old fashioned gal, love me sum traditional French tips n loved watching u do this!
Have tried doing both ways, the traditional was is what the essentials nails course I’m taking though, so I need to keep practicing the traditional method.
You are fantastic. I’ve been trying for quite some time now to get this right. Can’t decide on a brush, the white powder itself, on and on, quite frustrating really. You make it look easy, so I will keep trying. Love your art work!
this is how I was taught....But I think I just might try the reverse way. I do agree that with the traditional way there is a shadow....Thanks for that tip :)
I didn't think there would be such a noticeable difference but there was. Thanks Kristy! I will be trying this today on my daughter-in-law aka the guinea pig..lol. Is it possible to see more videos with designs and methods on short or natural nails?
I personally like the pointer finger but they look so similar 2 each other because of how good u matched the cover pinks on the pointer. Wat size acrylic tubs do u use on the channel. Like wat size pot was the glass rose in???
Why does the nail bedding have ridges/ indents from the acrylic after it's removed? I find myself having to grow out these lines and they break. Because they are weak.
how do you in fill when you put in a half moon... when the nail grows the moon is then in the wrong position... do you have remove all the acrylic and start over?
How come when I ask for French acrylic nails the nail tech paints on the white? What exactly do I say to get my French nails done this way or the reverse French?
I'm in nail school right now and we've been doing pink and whites for the past 2-3 weeks and today I cried like a baby at school because I got so frustrated doing it lol. I know one day I'll get to the point where I can just whip out a pink and white like this, but the learning process can be so frustrating 😅
Im currently in training but Im training in gel. Both traditional and reverse french in gel can be a right pain in the arse depending on the gel viscosity. The gel Im currently using has a medium viscosity so it has a tendency to float and its driving my perfectionism bonkers! Ive just ordered another brand (no not from naio nails cos they dont have all LED gels *cries*) and that brand has high viscosity gels meaning they do self level but they dont float (as far as I can tell on the demo videos Ive seen) so hopefully these gels will do the trick so I can deliver decent french with sharp crisp smileline

That's exactly how I was taught back in 2005 lol man I'm old
Hey, i did Friday in Germany my nails (the french manicure) and i noticed that they do it very different than you, they did put a tip on first, and put on the acrylic. Is this per individual person different, or per nail studio?
Hey! Great video as always 💕was wondering what brand of acrylic solution you're using? It doesn't look like it smells super unpleasant since there's a lot in your crucible(?) and you don't seem bothered by it xD
Mariel GM I have monomer and it still smells but I've always loved the smell so I actually enjoy working with acrylic because to me it smells so good haha. Maybe that happens with her unless it really doesn't smell like much
The channel is NAIO nails, so I think it’s safe to assume she is always using NAIO. She says for this application she is using the one called max adhesion.
I don't think there are any advantages to this way. This is how I learned and struggle to this day. I like the idea of the reverse because you can perfect your nail bed and lake it even first so your smile line looks perfect.
Reverse definitely definitely the other one seems actually a wider bed that fanned such as in your other video. Unfortunately I don't see the whole nail as I'm doing it so I do have difficulty with that but I can do it just takes me longer than the average bear and Yogi and I going still a whole bunch of picnic baskets and then I come back and I'm still working on it so which sucks that's what happens when you have detail vision and your blind in both eyes doesn't stop me I Endeavor to persevere Chief Dan George Josey Wales

Even though I don't do nails or get them done I can't stop watching all your videos. Love you guys.
I just love Adam's questions 💗
Paulinha Cardoso-88 who is Adam?
Ha ha! That is way I am watching this video again, the French went out of fashion in South Africa everybody wanted more dramatic and bling nails, now they all gone conservative again and I also lost the touch to do it, that is why I am watching your tutorial just to inspire myself again! 💕💅🥰🇿🇦

Ali Effing Noble I know what you mean
I’m the same
Ali Effing Noble since you find watching nails so relaxing and helps you, have you ever thought of trying to get into nails? Even if it’s just on a fake nail with a fake finger for comfort? You never know you could be amazing at it!💕

This Glass Rose is best natural pink what i have seen... so beautiful!
Kirsty, your nails are beautiful in the video.
Beautiful traditional design. That's how I learned to do the French nail too.
I like the traditional better, but both are good. I think it's just a matter of preference and what you are use to. Thanks always for your informative videos ❤

Gels N Gems Nails You will have WAY more success using the reverse method. My school also taught me how to do it this way with no mention what so ever of the reverse method.
Same! Trained with CND they teach this method. I wanted to learn reverse, my tutor said to learn it from youtube rofl.
Ha! Same here ladies.
Yep! I graduated last year and we learned like this or, more specifically, the Tammy Taylor method, which is tried and true. But we were also taught reverse.
So Beautiful. So define and clean.
I really like them both, I think it just comes down to whichever one works for the individual dng them as to which smile line u can make the sharpest best looking... Adam u ask great questions.. Thk u & I love u guys together...
This is how I was taught to build nails a few years back lol. I too prefer the reverse application. Thanks Adam I love your questions and input.
I'm not a fan of the traditional. I like learning the reverse method. For some reason the traditional feels harder to grasp for me.
I love these videos and cannot wait to see Fey back!
lornacarmen1999 I’m in Oklahoma and it’s the same here.
I love all your helpful videos they have made me a better nail tech thank you 💜
That looks great and Adam is awesome too!
I like the reverse french because of how elegant the smile line could be.
I know I’m a little late finding this but I am a new subscriber!! I just want to say this is the most perfect nail I have ever seen for me!! I love short nails but I love the French tip look, every time I get it done my nails look disproportionate to my hands. This is perfection!!
Your voice is sooo calming ☺️
These are my type of nails! I love watching all your videos but I'm just not a stiletto/ballerina type of girl! I'll admit I've never had acrylics either, but these are my dream nails!
I have to do this to pass my Acrylic Module of my course. You are amazing Kirsty!! Love your videos xxx
Kirsty you should do a traditional french infill video next. I love your short nail acrylic videos because I have small nail beds. 🌸
Because of your skill, they both look very similar..I think I like the pinky better, the smile line is so crisp ...I do love "french"
I can tell this wasn't your fave but I'm so glad u did this video:) I do like the reverse method but I'm an old fashioned gal, love me sum traditional French tips n loved watching u do this!
I've not done a set with white first. I'm totally going to try it!!!!
I was always a shell pink kinda gal, but I'm really digging that glass rose colour!
Would love to have my nails done by you. Your work is out of this world. Love watching your vids. Keep it up 😊
I wear French nails a lot and this application is my favorite. I like the look better.
You are such a perfectionist.... love watching your videos. 😍😍😍
Beautiful! I'm still trying to master the basic acrylic application, it will be a minute before I try it lol!
Love a French ,really lovely xo
This was how I learnt to do it!! Seems so old fashioned now lol
Gorgeous!
Love your nail tutorials. I was wondering if you could do one on flare/ duck tip nails please !?? They are my favorite style
So pretty
bravo super magnifique gros bisous Martine 👍👍👍👏👏👏💅💅💅❤👄🌹🌹🌹🇫🇷
i think u can did it perfect no matter how long it's been since u last did it. when u r good u r good.
Great nail.
this is how I was taught....But I think I just might try the reverse way. I do agree that with the traditional way there is a shadow....Thanks for that tip :)
That's cool!
This is how they taught me too :) I trained with CND. I recently graduated and tried reverse and much prefer reverse though. Also I work with gel.
its just a perfect nail.
I didn't think there would be such a noticeable difference but there was. Thanks Kristy! I will be trying this today on my daughter-in-law aka the guinea pig..lol. Is it possible to see more videos with designs and methods on short or natural nails?
Make Adam do nails for a video😂 he knows a lot
Carolina Pulido yes!! I agree that would be so funny
I agree too.
Yea that would be a great laugh
Advantage of reverse is also that you can file de smile to get iet perfect.
This is how I like my nails
Never been a fan of tradition, absolutely LOVE reverse!!
Just love Kirsty & Adam.....💞
Bravo 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Beautiful❤❤❤😍😍😍 Saludos my friend desde tijuana bc México
Honestly I like the old school one
Gorgeous
Perfecta!!
It is not that old of a way of doing this nail. This is how I learned to do it, and watching people do the reverse seems wrong. Have a lovely day!!!
I'll stick with non traditional. Feels so much easier! Tfs!
Your amazing thanks for making vids
It’s both beautiful, but I like the reverse way better than the traditional way.
You're delightful. xo
Hello, great videos! Is it possible to do this with dual forms?
Can't u file the circle edge of the white with a diamond barrel bit? I do it to the reverse edge sometimes when my hands r hurting
3:04 thought the client had magically gotten tips
Sir Guinea Pig LOL 😆 ditto!
I personally like the pointer finger but they look so similar 2 each other because of how good u matched the cover pinks on the pointer. Wat size acrylic tubs do u use on the channel. Like wat size pot was the glass rose in???
at 3:01, i thought her client had a tip on... i was like waitttt when did that happen? 😂
I love your man - he asks cleaver questions. A man!... About nails!
How come when I ask for French acrylic nails the nail tech paints on the white? What exactly do I say to get my French nails done this way or the reverse French?
How do you do a fill in with this type of nail
Ugh I had to do the traditional when I went to school and really hated it. I love the reverse method
Which acrylic brush do you use???
I'm in nail school right now and we've been doing pink and whites for the past 2-3 weeks and today I cried like a baby at school because I got so frustrated doing it lol. I know one day I'll get to the point where I can just whip out a pink and white like this, but the learning process can be so frustrating 😅
These would be perfect for men too.
Love this look. I wanted to ask you what kind of shampoo you use on your hair? Keep up the good work.
Tengo una pregunta 🙏 como hago un degradado con esmalte de gel?🙏por favor
Why didn't you use mega gloss?
This is how I was taught to do French acrylic nail
You're so pretty

Now Kirstie...... you need to do this using sculpture gel. Not hard gel or 3d gel. This way and reverse french.😆
Quisiera ver la misma técnica en uñas más largas por favor 😊😘
Can you show us with gel pls
🧡
Can you do more hard/builder gel nail videos
le banque, le piscine. so cute. incorrect, but so cute.
Hey! Great video as always 💕was wondering what brand of acrylic solution you're using? It doesn't look like it smells super unpleasant since there's a lot in your crucible(?) and you don't seem bothered by it xD

Mariel GM and she always uses Naio Nails products
The channel is NAIO nails, so I think it’s safe to assume she is always using NAIO. She says for this application she is using the one called max adhesion.
Jenny gosh soooo jealous! I have to double mask when I work with acrylics! Maybe it's just me xD
Dana Goings ohhhh thanks for the info! I'll see if I can purchase it online (I pray to the heavens shipping's affordable).
💝
This is the method I'm being taught as a tech in school right now. 3/26/18
