- How fast is the old school Toyota Tundra with a good old V8? Powered for 2020 exclusively by the 5.7L i-FORCE V8 engine that offers up to 10,200 pounds of towing capacity and a maximum payload of 1,730 pounds, Tundra is ready to tackle the jobsite, a weekend cruise to the lake, or a multi-state family road trip. The Toyota Tundra is the oldest truck in its class, but it's still a strong hauler and plenty capable when taken off the beaten path with the TRD Pro package! However, its powertrain suffers from a lazy 6-speed transmission and poor fuel-economy ratings, so if you have a heavy foot, expect to be often at the pump.

I am just amazed how fast these V8 Trucks are. Basically as fast as a VW GTI

Engine should be quiet!!! Besides what dumb@$$ EV’s their engine stationary. It’s stupid and useless and can be damaging. We want to enjoy our stereo with no engine noise intruding in.
@@Mabeylater293, dumb ass if you dislike it, why even purchasing the pick up truck, only you did. Then, go with electric cars because the Tundra might be slightly louder inside if you are not throttling the gas. The IForce Engine is much more reliable engine they produced. "We like to enjoy our stereo with no engine", well, like I said pick your electric car, but nevertheless some people would like to hear that V8 IForce engine.

RIP I-FORCE 4.6L and 5.7L V8s. Murdered by Toyota to be replaced by twin turbo V6s. I GUARANTEE Toyota will live to regret such a terrible move. The Titans are gonna murder them in sales if they stick with their 5.6L V8s (hopefully they keep them forever. They’re awesome engines now that the Cat issues been fixed years ago).

Everyone that own a tundra will know with the tow/ haul mode on will give you better acceleration at take off
Mine will just smoke the tires at full throttle acceleration. I don’t know how this dude is getting these smooth take offs. I couldn’t imagine having more power at take off. Mine would just sit there and spin.

Yeah the tow haul is a must for early acceleration. I feel like it’ll cut off .5-1sev on 0-60 time. It’s like a whole different truck. I race chargers and Camaros all the time , little button push, switch to semi-manual mode…

It can be up to 250 kilometers per hour if you cancel the specified speed.

That Truck's gotten alot faster than before.
The double cabs are lighter and faster than the crewmax. I think they’ve picked up a bit of weight since 2007 too
@@everythingpnw yeah they are I think the all new redesigned 2022 tundras are supposed to be the fastest gen ever made. With a new twin turbo v6 similar to the ford ecoboost. Hope it pays off.

What year was this truck? Do they not speed limit these trucks at 107 mph? I have an 08 that was limited to 107, I bought a uni chips tuner and was able to eliminate the speed stop. Had it up to 147mph. With GPS. Been damn good truck

How did it let you go up to 108mph??. I have a 2021 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro and it only goes up to 98mph, after that the engine stops pulling and it won’t go anymore.

Could just be the exhaust they used. You can put an aftermarket one in it to make it sound a little meaner

For wot, how is the 6 speed auto lazy? I bet it shifts better than most 8, 9, and 10 speeds. Granted, I have only driven fwd 8 speed auto cars and they were awful.

idk about the older models tho. not sure what they did to these new ones but ive heard of stock 2007 trucks going 0-60 in mid 5s and the trd supercharged trucks will do 0-60 in 4.4 seconds
@@imnottellinudontwannaknow3188 The best time I have ever seen for a tundra was in a regular cab in the best configuration was 5.4 seconds. My truck (2.7 Ecoboost, 4x4, Supercab 6.5 bed) is far from the best configuration and managed 5.5. If it was a regular cab 5.5 bed then 5.2-5.3 would be possible.

i think the 0-60 time you got there was actually around 6.1 seconds
no the GPS time is exactly the result, try not to stop the video at 60 and compare the dragy time since it seems delayed each time we do that.
