Nice to see Hannah featured in a video! I have always thought the 3 yard quilts were quite amenable to using layer cakes. I have a Gustav Klimt layer cake which is full a vibrant colors with gold accents. My secondary fabric is a gold swirl and the third a black with tiny gold dots. It will be for a 50th anniversary. Haven't started yet because I can't decide between City Lights or Town Square. Either should be great!
Your fabric selection sounds gorgeous. I hope you don't mind my sticking my jealous nose in. Do you love the attention grabbing diagonal lines in City Lights? If not, Irish Chain is very similar. Town Square is a lovely pattern, well balanced. As you say, with Gustaf, it'll be a grand affair! Enjoy!🫠
@@cecile862 I was leaning toward Town Squarae because I though it was the easiest of the two. But seeing that City Lights is made with a 4 patch rather than strips, I believe that is the way to go. I like the diagonal lines marching across the quilt. Thanks for your input!
Hannah, you have come so far in your quilting. It’s so great to see you shine in your own tutorial , you are doing a fantastic job. Thanks. That friendship Star with the purple was gorgeous, wow.
Great video!!! Love the idea of using layer cakes or precuts, that way you can get all the fabrics in a collection!!! Color Surge is amazing!!! The gradient of colors and the original pattern is hidden-love it!! Very nice job, Hannah- boop, boop!!🤣
As always Fabric Cafe creates brilliant designs and inspiration Quilts. I have been given left over layer cake squares. Now I know what to do with them. Thank you for inspiring me. 😅😅😅
Hannah, you are such a great teacher. I like that you're a young quilter and have such a love of fabric. You've really Blossomed since you first appeared on the videos. 🎶💐💖🫂
Thank you for the information and encouragement to think outside the box with layer cakes. You really need to thinking of all the patterns I can use layer cakes with.

Love this Hanna Video. Would like to see more made with Layer Cakes. I have at least 10 Christmas Layer cakes that I’m trying to match with your 3 yard quilt patterns. Also I want to make memory quilts from collared men’s plaid shirts. Need patterns for this project.
I'm going to be the no-fun stickler in the room here - "layer cake" is Moda's proprietary name for 10 inch squares. And yes (before any one asks) I do say tissue, not Kleenex tm. I'm a hoot at parties 🙄
Fantastic presentation! I prefer layer cakes because I will spend too much time coordinating fabrics if I don’t! Too many choices leaves this girl feeling confused.
Hannah, you are a bright shining star with your teaching and vision. We need more young people embracing the craft!
Thank you so much! 🥰

Great video!
Hi Miss Hannah, how are you. Thank you for your video.
Great Video, Thanks! What is the pattern of the quilt behind you? and Material ?
The quilt hanging behind me is Elation from the Stash Busing book. The fabric is a Free Spirit that is a couple of seasons old now.
I love Color Surge in the Chain Reaction pattern. But you loose the woven feel in black and white. Still love the new look.
what is the quilt behind you?
Why isn't the snowball in Chain Reaction considered the number one focus fabric?
It is simply the way the pattern is written to highlight the "chain" look. Any fabric can go in any position since you are using one yard of each.
