I’d like to compliment the camera person. Thank you for not swinging the camera all over the place and not zooming in and out. Having close ups are great. It sure is nice watching a video that doesn’t make a person dizzy.

I just love watching you make your quilts. I would love to be a fly on the wall, out of your way, and watch you in person make every one. I catch myself being so absorbed in your work until time flies and it will be 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning. God has blessed you with a real talent.

Donna, I'm not a quilter but the way you put your quilts together you make it look really easy and simple. It makes me want to make a quilt just to see if I could do it. I could never get the points to meet but you make it look neat and perfect. I have made your pumpkin placemat and everyone loved them. The next thing I'm going to try is a panel baby quilt with all your helpful idea about putting it together. I want to the side with the squares and triangle. Thanks for all your inspiration.

I have just recently discovered your channel and all the amazing quilts you do. I've been binge watching for days. You are a natural teacher! When I watch your tutorials, I feel like I'm getting a personal quilting lesson from you. Thanks for all your efforts and your beautiful quilts. And I absolutely love your pre-cut kits. Cutting fabric is the one thing I truly dislike. So thanks to Matt for all his precise cutting so I don't have to do it. Please don't ever stop making videos for us!!

My sister gave me a layer cake for my birthday :) It's perfect for this quilt. I was just going to do a plain layer cake , but this is so much better. I love reds , and mine is very similar to the one you used. When you find one you love, just hate to cut it up tiny. Ribbons allows me see the design and pretty colors of the fabric . Thanks for that !!!

I really appreciate the fact that you are demonstrating these ultra simple quilting approaches (such as sew-as-you-go) without abandoning best practices and sensible sewing techniques - - so that the finished product looks desirable and seems worth doing. I say this because I first landed on another channel that demonstrated the "sew-as-you-go" method, but she abandoned every good practice (alignment, pressing, pinning, mitered flat corners, measuring, etc); so the results of all her work was mismatched seams, a rippled binding, puckered corners, and buckled intersections. Her stated practice with the SAYG approach was to spare herself the "annoyance" of "extra" steps. She even described the unavoidable blemishes and mistakes as signature creative characteristics. I have a lot of sewing experience so I fully recognized that much of the botched outcome was a direct result of her omissions. But I was left wondered if SAYG had any redemptive merit ... or was the whole point was to abandon skills regardless of the result?) ... And I just about wrote it off, UNTIL I saw what you have done on several of your video projects. Taking a simplified approach doesn't mean you have to sacrifice desirable outcomes. Not only do I see you applying good techniques, but you specifically mention and explain how they are important to the outcome of the finished piece. By NOT abandoning vital techniques and skills (such as neatness, measuring, aligning, pinning, pressing, turning, trimming, and color placement), you make doing simplified methods look 'worth it' even to beginners. Why bother doing the faster/simpler methods if the finished product cant be shown or . Everyone who sews (novice or not) ... and I dare say quilters even more so ... want their work to look appealing and get compliments! Quilting and sewing is not more likable when you neglect vital steps that yield a desirable result. Thank you for your diligence!!

I bought 5 layer cakes to make my daughter a quilt, with a certain pattern in mind. However, when I went back and looked at it I just didn’t like it. So I’ve been looking for another quilt pattern to use. I believe that I have found it. I love this pattern and I believe the fabric that I have will look gorgeous in it. I plan on making it a king size quilt though. I will just add rows and columns to make it the correct size. I also love the pieced border. I will definitely be stepping out of my comfort zone with this quilt. Thank you for the great video! It will definitely help.

Thanks for the great pattern Donna, and say thank you to your husband for all the cutting he does. Is he going to get new rotary cutting blades for Christmas? Ha, ha! I did this quilt this past week and it is BOMB! I used the Dandi Annie layer cake from Moda. The quilt is pretty easy to piece and it looks really complicated and intricate when it's completed. When it is quilted and completed it's going to be really awesome. It's too small for my likes. I wanted a queen sized finished quilt but it's hard to find help.

I can live in your store! So many gorgeous fabrics and attractive space to work in😍😍😍 Please add the models of the fabric you use for easy search and purchase. I slowed down the video to capture the front of the layer cake you used but all I can see is a guy in glasses. I'm a newbie to the quilting world and soon I'll learn all these brilliant fabric designers but at the moment I know zero 😅 You're amazing teaching by keeping everything simple. This quilt is made using French General prints. We are out of this exact one, but will have more similar layer cakes in stock soon.

I love to watch your tutorials. You explain everything so I can understand. And I do want to make this quilt, I enjoy the precuts
And they work up so fast. Thanks Donna for all your hard work.
